Hey guys 1st off Bret Hart is my all time fav. wrestler everything he did in the ring was awesome. After watching the new Nitro DVD I realized that I hadnt seen many of his WCW matches. The Match he had with DDP for the US title was awesome. I've watched his match with Benoit from Mayhem on youtube years ago and I own matches with Benoit (owen tribute), Curt Henning, and Sting on various WWE DVDS....so I was wondering what Bret matches from WCW do you guys think were the best and what ones should I try and dig up?

As far as I know, WCW didn't really used Bret Hart they way they should've. His debut was something that shouldn't have been the way it is (Sting vs Hogan match).
The only match that I've seen from him in WCW, was vs Benoit (Owen Hart's tribute). That was a truly amazing match. Watching my favorite, and second favorite, wrestler of all time have a match that was given a good length, and in the end the fans getting into it and appreciating it made it even better.

oh yeah...they def . didnt use him well..I think thats why I wasnt really interested in keeping up with WCW. I read his book and he basically says WCW was the shits. Imagine if you could book the WWF champion coming in ...they dropped the ball big time. (I know he wasnt the champ but he had just lost it)

The Owen tribute match against Benoit was one of his best.

Bret 's WCW stint was a picture perfect example of how someone was completely mis-used. IMO, A Sting vs. Bret feud did happen, but they should have been given free reign as they could have produced MOTY candidates everytime they stepped in the ring together.
But as a few have said, Bret's Owen Tribute match against Benoit was fantastic. A personal favorite of mine is Bret's match against Randy Savage at Slamboree '98. Nothign flashy but just a real solid match.

I think Bret Hart was missused big time in WCW so many dream matches like Hitman vs Hogan that never materialised, Even dream matches that did happen like Hitman vs Sting ended up more of a card filler type match than a main event classic it should have been.

hmmmm I wanna see that match against Randy Savage now....I really enjoy the solid basic matches ...Bret knew how to make everything look good...hence the reason Monsoon labeled him the excellence of execution

Not really a match, but when Goldberg speared him with the metal plate. That was great

Bret Hart vs Dean Malenko - Monday Nitro: 23rd November 1998.
20 minutes on the semi-main event of Nitro.

Bret Hart vs Dean Malenko - Monday Nitro: 23rd November 1998. 20 minutes on the semi-main event of Nitro. Is this the match where Malenko crotches Bret on the top turnbuckle and tore his groin? In his book, Bret said he lost all respect for Malenko after he never apologized for it. Anyway Bret couldn't have come into WCW w/ any more momentum. Seriously, Sting should have just defeated Hogan cleanly, and then Sting, Hart, and Goldberg could have all been built up for a huge showdown at the following Starcade. Sadly, Hogan and Nash, w/ their creative control, never allowed anyone else to get over.

Im honestly so exhausted talking about Starrcade 97 on here(explaining to Hogans followers it was 100% his fault) that I cant do it anymore but onwards to 98...... Sting should have went over Hogan as planned.....CLEANLY!!!! .then Sting and Hart alongside the emerging Goldberg and DDP should have went to WAR on the nWo which should have been comprised of Hogan Hall Nash Giant Savage Hennig and one or two others. Hogan vs Goldberg on TV should have still happened after Hogan cheated Sting out of the title a month or so beforehand. then you have Halloween Havoc 98:WCW vs nWo the final battle(laid out like Invasion.) main event for Starrcade 98?Bret Hart vs Sting. WCW did mnay things right in 98-but it was all shortsighted.......there was no plan what to do after Leno,Malone and knows who else went back to their real jobs.

I don't know much about his matches, but the promo he did on Booker T after he injured him was hilarious.

the worst part about Hart coming in was the he came in with Neidhart and Bulldog. they didn't do anything with eachother. in the midst of like 5 factions duking it out the possibilities of a Hart family faction were incredible. even without Owen.

Sting should have gone over Hogan cleanly at Starcade 1997 and held the title until the next Starcade IMO. I then would have built up Bret and Goldberg with him all year. Tease them getting into a fight but never have them in a match with eachother until around HalloweenHavoc, where I'd have had Sting and Bret in a feud where Hogan would have screwed Bret out of the title, which would have set up Bret vs Hogan and Sting vs Goldberg at Starcade 1998. Sadly, Hogan never allowed anyone else to get above him on the card.

The tribute match was amazing, I tuned in especially to see if Brett was going to be on Nitro. I could not believe he showed up.
