Hot on the heels of American Reunion, it looks like there will be couple more comedy sequels, as both Scary Movie 5 and Halloween 3D make their debut in 2012.
Back in 2006 Scary Movie 4, the most recent mediocre movie from the Scary Movie films, drummed up a healthy profit – which explains the decision behind making number five.
There are no reports yet of who is attached to write or direct, but it has been given the release date of 20 April 2012, when the fourth American Pie instalment will also be revived.
Meanwhile, Halloween 3D, a follow-up to the two Rob Zombie Halloween films has also been confirmed. It is unsure whether Zombie will return to work on this film, given that the project was first talked about a year ago.
However, it has also been given a release date, arriving just before Halloween on 26 October 2012. »

The only way Scary movie 5 has ANY chance of being good is if they go back to basing their films off 1 movie

I look forewrd to both.
I would hope though, that the Waynes Brothers return to direct and star. They were what made 1 and 2 the best.
Halloween though, I just enjoy. Zombie has a good vision on a classic story and Id love to see how he can make a third one out of 2's ending.

I look forward to scary movie 5. I really enjoyed the first two, the last 2 ehhh not so much. But I feel like, as dx said, that if the wayans are involved that it could be pretty good. Dance flick wasnt nearly as bad as meet the spartans, superhero movie, and all those other spoof movies.

Why do these terrible movies keep getting made?

I'm very interested to see what direction Lussier and Farmer will go in for Halloween 3D.

I'm very glad that Halloween is out of Zombie's hands. I'm curious as to whether or not the new one will be something different or spring off of that continuity.

Scary Movie 5 NEEDS to be R. They got dumb when they went to PG13.
Halloween 3D I really can't comment on. It all depends if Zombie is coming back. I don't really want him to.

They're really milking the Scary Movie series, the first one was good but they just got worse and worse after that.
Rob Zombie's first Halloween was awesome, really liked seeing Michael from a different angle with his childhood. Lightning didn't strike twice though because H2 was crap. Will still see Halloween 3D though.
