Def Leppard and Poison were my most-wanted bands (aside from Aerosmith) so DLC has been great for me recently.

NO! This cannot fall off the first page again! That cannot be allowed to occur again!!!
Mad Catz has apparently been named the new publisher for the next big music game.....in the form of Rock Band 3.
the peripheral powerhouse has taken over publishing duties and will put the game back on shelves this holiday season.
The re-release may seem like an unconventional deal (and it is) but it's easy to see the logic. For starters, the game's original publisher, MTV Games, doesn't exist any more. Plus, Mad Catz is getting more involved with the publishing world and is already the official manufacturer of Rock Band instruments.
Mad Catz says it will bundle the game with its various instruments including the Fender Mustang guitar/controller hybrid, though not the drum kit as far as we can tell. We're also looking into platforms -- thus far, we know only that Mad Catz has a publisher license agreement for Xbox 360. We've reached out for comment and will let you know what we hear back. Update: For the moment, 360 is the only platform Mad Catz will confirm the rerelease for. Specific bundle details are still to come.
And since it's Thursday, anyone wanna take guesses on next week's announce? I'm gonna still say Incubus could be it, because of the aforementioned confirmation by HMX themselves.

I finally made the jump up to Expert guitar. I'm not doing too bad so far. Getting gold on most of the warmup songs. Going into the metal songs terrifies me.

I remember first making that jump with a very few songs on GH2, but then getting into it full-fledged, after one career playthrough of course, on GH3. By the time of RB2, I was fully on expert, so it took me close to 3 years of the rhythm games to be able to play on Expert with no problems.

Yeah it took me a while to want to play fully on Expert. Now I can't not play on Expert because Hard is just so damn boring.

That's it? 2 f*cking songs? RBN this week is.......bad.
Fallen Angel – Ashes to Ashes/Leaving It All Behind (160 MSP) Lich King – Act of War (80 MSP)
There was a 3rd song, "Caraphernelia" by Pierce The Veil, but that was wrongly listed, and will likely be out next week.

I think it will be the Incubus stuff plus a leak on Rockbandaide this week showed some songs from Fall Out Boy... so i think it will be a double 3 pack week.
BTW the leak also showed a bunch for Red Hot Chili Peppers songs! Did i call this one or what! Including 3 from the new albulm being released at the end of the month.

I'm already noticing a difference on speeds. I went down to hard on one song and it drove me crazy.

None of which is Give It Away......yet. But I hope that's all one big 8-pack, and not spread over several weeks.

Hell yeah, I can't wait for that to come. Californication is one of my favorite albums so its nice to see it get represented with 4 songs. By The Way is awesome too, and three tracks from I'm With You is cool.

;D Those would be tears of joy. Those 'Chili Peppers songs would be the absolute ultimate for me as far as DLC goes. God, I hope that's true.

Does anyone know if I have to still own Rock Band 2 in order to import all my songs into Rock Band 3?

Does anyone know if I have to still own Rock Band 2 in order to import all my songs into Rock Band 3? Not as far as I know. You go into the Music Store option on the main menu of RB3, and choose Get More Songs, but instead of Music Store, you choose Redeem Code. You do need the code from the back of the book, the same one that got you the 20 free songs a few months after RB2 launched. If you don't have that, you can call up EA and tell them it's not working or you don't have it or something and they should hook you up with one for free. You still need to pay the 800 points, but that's a small price for....70 songs, and then the 9 bonus tracks from the HMX bands - Abnormality, Bang Camaro, The Main Drag, etc. - are part of a big free DLC pack that came out in January..

I am so, so, SO on that Deep Purple song. Why couldn't it be the other way around though? I'd prefer a 3 pack of Deep Purple (more like a 6 or 12 pack but 3 would work too) and a Fall Out Boy single? Gah! Child In Time is awesome though
