 PrologueMy name is Dr. Tom Oliver, but all my friends and family know me as Tommy. By day I'm a high school science teacher at Reefside High School (putting great use to my PhD in Paleontology  ). By night, i run an MMA dojo for the youth in my community. Alot's gone on in my lifetime, from being adopted, to moving to a whole new city, to meeting my long lost brother to fighting evil monsters from space and even clones of myself! Yes, you read that right, monsters & clones. You see, when I was younger, I moved to Angel Grove with my family, and immediately after metting new friends, including this one girl named Kimberly, an evil alien scorceress named Rita Repulsa put me under her spell to attack my new friends. Did I mention my friends were the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? After defending galaxies for many years, I had hung it all up. Or so I thought... While visiting her parents in Australia, my wife and our two kids were kidnapped. I took it upon myself to find them, along with the help of five of my best students... |

Here are the students I've chosen:  Blake- age 17. An expert in many high school sports, Blake looks to take Martial Arts to stay in top physical condition.  Tyler- age-18. Very academically inclined, although not the best athlete, Tyler believes Martial Arts will help him against bullies.  Samir- age 16- Orphaned at a young age, Samir has a great sense of humor and makes friends very easily. However, I feel his humor is used to mask something dark within him.  Lynn age 14- Tyler's little sister, was looking to tag along at first, but became interested in Martial Arts, however her greater passion is taking singing lessons and dance.  Spike- age 17- The son of an old friend of mine. Although originally very clumsy, I feel Spike has matured in his years in my dojo. |

Chapter 1: Part One: Friends
"Read chapters 18 and 19 tonight! And don't forget, tonight's the first day of my Mixed Martial Arts training at my dojo!" Dr Tommy Oliver shouted as the 3:00 bell rang and his students headed out the door for the day. He erased the board, loosened his tie, plopped down in hit chair behind his desk, and opened his briefcase to get out his cell phone to call his wife.
"Hey, it's Kat! Sorry I'm not able to answer the phone, but leave a message and I'll call you back! Bye!"
"Damn." he grumbled. "Hey babe. Call me when you land. If you call and I don't answer, I'm probably at the dojo training the students. Love you. Bye"
He hung up and put the phone back in his briefcase and headed to his Jeep in the faculty parking lot. Tommy's wife and kids had left for Australia earlier that morning, and Tommy wanted to see if they'd made it yet.
Tommy drove back to his house on the other side of Reefside, to get all his gear that he'd be taking with him to the dojo for the training and make a Muscle Milk protein shake in the blender. He gathered his duffel bag and sports bottle and headed to the dojo to get in a workout before anyone showed up.

Meanwhile:
High school senior Blake Beck is hanging out by his car, surrounded by cheerleaders and other young ladies.
"Yeah, I figured I'd go to Dr O's place downtown to try something new." he said.
"Oh," said a girl, "Do you, um, like trying "new things", Blake?"
"Let's meet Friday night and I'll let ya know." he replied. "But, Now I've got to get going if I wanna make it in tome to go to Dr. O's. I'll catch you ladies later."
Blake then hops over the top of his convertable, and speeds out the parking lot. His coach informed him of Dr. Oliver's training and had told him to take some classes there to help out his cardio. Blake was a little iffy on taking them, but he couldn't tell his coach "no".
Over on the other side of the school, where the students that don't drive waited for their rides, a young man named Samir Salim jokes with his friends.
"Can you imagine? Me as an MMA fighter!" Samir scoffed. " I guess I'll quit school next and join UFC! Ha!"
"You should give it a try, Samir." replied one of his friends. "It'll give you something to do. Weren't you just saying how you've frown tired of the Boys and Girls Club?"
"I guess you're right." he agreed. "I'll see you guys there. The bus is here."
Samir took his seat on the bus next to a friend from another school, Tyler Zachary.
"Hey, Samir. What's up, man?"
"Oh nothing" replied Samir. "I was just talking to the guys about going down to Rising Sun and starting some MMA training."
"Yeah. They had mentioned something about that at my school. Are you going?" Tyler asked.
"Yeah, I'll be there. My science teacher is the one running it."
Tyler sighed. "I don't know if I'll be able to make it. I've got to watch my little sister, man, but I'll try."
The two chatted a little more until Tyler reached his stop. He got off the bus and waited at the end of the driveway for his sister's bus to arrive. When it did, she stepped off and began pestering her big brother right away.
"Hey Ty! What are we doing today? Are you going to take me to another computer club meeting? Are we gonna go see a new movie? Wanna go down to Zoom Comics?"
"No, Lynn, I'm going to Rising Sun, you're staying with the Kwans!" Tyler snapped.
"Oh, please take me with you?! I'll be as quiet as a mouse!"
"Swear?"
"Well, okay. Go get ready."
Lynn could be a bit overbearing at times, but in the end, Tyler really didn't mind having her around. He never really had many real friends, and had been the victim of bullying throughout his high school years. Tyler and Lynn had always had to move around to different cities due to their parent's job. So, while friend's names and faces may have changed throughout the years, Tyler and Lynn always had each other.

Man, I really need to trademark my name so you can stop using it! Haha. Anyway, good way to introduce the characters. Loved Power Rangers as a kid so I will be reading this. I will also be reading to see what these "new things" Blake will be talking about.
