So, I'm curious if anyone enjoyed this promo as much as I did?

It wasnt scripted, but Vince probably specifically gave Punk creative control over it and told him to go nuts. You can't get away with a legit shoot for that long without them cutting the mic.
Can't believe how many names he dropped.

you can't be more than 14 or 15 surely yes everyone knows cena kisses ass, you don't get to the top of the wwe without doing so, he also name dropped hogan and especially the rock so will the fans now see them as tools too.......he could have mentioned shawn michaels who kissed more mcmahon ass than anyone, i suspect he would have only that shawn was in the building last night and wouldn't have taken to kindly to that does that make any of those guys less talented, course not, hbk is the finest performer ever in wwe imo Except Hogan, The Rock and HBK aren't shoved down my throat each week like Cena is. Not anymore.

That was awesome. This shows the power of non-scripted promos, just give the guy the topic and let him do what he needs to do to get it over.
When Punk started going off the wall I was waiting for an ROH reference, no TNA was a funny snub. I always look forward to Raw but rarely do I want to watch it right after it ends these days.
I think the WWE did what they did with Styles, just said go out and say what you want to say but there is a point where it crosses the line. Ripping into a campaign like the bullying one would have been very bad for WWE in the long run I would have thought.
I'm sure Vince would't mind the mention of other companies as I think he said himself he misses having competition and ROH and NJPW aren't exactly WCW standard compared to WWE.
I can just imagine the crowds reaction if Punk wins at MITB. Would be so Awesome.

Regardless scripted or shoot awesome promo. Punk touch on a lot of things that holds true like the fact WWE will be better when Vince is dead. And when Steph and HHH take over and are running things. And the fact about Rock and Cena Mania match and i like that Punk notes he is a WRESTLING something the Wrestling business needs Yes they do Entertain but we need Wrestling as well they go hand and hand

I would agree some people need more structure but I think for pre-recorded segments its easier to go less scripted as you can re-do it "that was fine but add this" etc... Theres just no emotion in promos anymore, there so skipable but WWE insist on doing them for a large portion of the show.

Im pretty sure Vince just handed the Punk the mic and said "have fun." Vince knows exactly what Punk is capable of and he wanted him to get edgy last night. I mean the last 3 summers have had angles like Nexus, Billion Dollar Mania stage collapse, and even the Limo Blow-up. We get an angle like this to keep us hooked for the next few months. But yeah, Punk's promo was beyond legendary and weather hes leaving or not doesnt really bother me. He'll be back one day, even if he hasnt signed a new contract. Cant wait to see this play out at MITB.

Your hate for Cena is absolutely embarrasing. Why? I can't stand the guy. What do you want me to say? I'm not gonna lie and sugar coat it. Because you try and turn every thread into a Cena hate thread, when it is has nothing to do with Cena. It's pathetic.

It's pathetic. Yeah. On top of that cobra, you're trying to make out that a [most likely worked] CM Punk promo will help us to 'see the light' and 'realise' that John Cena is 'a tool'. WTF.

It's pathetic. That is a grossly exaggerated statement. I most certainly do not try to turn every thread into a Cena hate thread. I say what's on my mind, and tough sh*t if you don't like what I have to say. You people may try to suppress others opinions here, but you sure as hell are not going to suppress mine. Because you try and turn every thread into a Cena hate thread, when it is has nothing to do with Cena. It's pathetic. Yeah. On top of that cobra, you're trying to make out that a [most likely worked] CM Punk promo will help us to 'see the light' and 'realise' that John Cena is 'a tool'. WTF. Work or not, there was obviously some validity to it. Hopefully when he does officially leave the WWE he'll make a statement that he meant every word he said. I'm sorry, but there is just something about Cena that I do not like and CM Punk's promo pretty much reassured my suspicions.
