Cena and Rock aren't ass kissers. It's the exact opposite. Vince McMahon saw that the fans responded to Cena and Rock and were willing to spend money on them...that is why they have been popular characters throughout their careers.
I don't think there is anybody who gets no reaction from the fans and draws no money that would be able to ass kiss their way to the top. You have to be able to draw or it doesn't matter how much ass you kiss.
You might be able to kiss ass to get an OPPORTUNITY....but if you don't deliver, Vince isn't going to keep giving you opportunities.
Everything Rock, Austin, Triple H, Stone Cold, HBK and others have accomplished they have EARNED through hard work, regardless of how they finally got their opportunities when given the chance they DELIVERED.
CM Punk is delivering too. He's showing he can be a main guy. I hope he stays. This is like Batista. I was always sort of indifferent to him, and in his final run he was so impressive that I wished he would have ended up staying. Same with Punk....I never liked or disliked him, but now I'm enjoying him and would love him to stay if this is how he's going to perform.

Well I'm sorry, but I thought for sure that with CM Punk finally coming out with the truth people would people would open their eyes and see Cena for what he truly is. All I was trying to do is have a discussion, but of course God forbid we have an actual discussion on a discussion board. You want discussion? Fine. Here's some discussion: You don't know John Cena. Nor do you know what goes on backstage anymore than the rest of us do. You want to talk about people coming out with the 'truth?' Here's some truth for you: What you saw last night was a worked shoot promo from a heel wrestler. Of course he's going to badmouth all of the babyfaces. Just because you feel a certain way about Cena doesn't make the points that Punk made about him any more valid/credible than anything else he said. Also, people would 'open their eyes' to what exactly? Your opinion? Because that's exactly all it is--your opinion. The only thing you're helping people open their eyes to is that for some reason you think your opinion is more valuable than everyone elses, which it's not. It's no more right, it's no more wrong, nor is it any more important than anyone elses. There's your discussion.

I pointed it out somewhere else, but the shoot was almost the EXACT same thing that Jeff Jerrett said on Raw like..13 years ago He just shot about being overlooked...and it sucked

I'm not the one who has a constant hate for a guy I don't even know. You act like Cena has personally attacked or insulted you. Seriously, I'm embarrassed for you, Not just the Cena hate but pretty much all your posts on this site. Get over yourself buddy. Cena irritate and annoys me and this is the only place I can come to vent. If what I have to say about Cena upsets you so much, why don't you just ignore it? It doesn't upset me, It's just boring, childish and annoying. We don't need to see you comment about Cena all the time, when the thread isn't about him..

Being a cynic makes you an bunghole...you're an bunghole in real life with no friends so 1. You hate everything that the majority likes (if they don't like me why should I like what they like...that'll show em!) 2. You feel the need to put your opinions online into EVERY DISCUSSION because no one in outside world will even give your opinions a 2nd thought..you know why...because it's not even a discussion. You say what you want and then when someone takes the opposite side you say the same thing but get offended and tell them "IT'S JUST MY OPINION GET OVER IT" while goading them into more interaction with you...you win! 3. I don't really care about you...so the reason I'm doing this is just to put you in your place...grow up and learn to respect other peoples discussions...just because it's an open discussion and you want to vent about why John Cena miss the days of your childhood where everything wasn't so hate-filled and girless, doesn't mean you have to put your 2 cents in. 4. You're fat...but it's the worlds fault your fat. Good luck in your future endeavors.

MVP said this on twitter and I completely agree with him.
That was Punks "Austin 3:16" moment. Hopefully the WWE picks up on what this promo achieved and run with Punk as one of their top guys. Let him take a break after MITB, but once he comes back and should definitely be a top guy. Career defining moment last night.

Without spoiling anything, I saw the promo for the first time in its entirety today. There really wasn't anything THAT over the top that Punk said. The worst thing he said was about how the WWE might be better off with Vince dying. I thought Joey Styles' shoot on JR/Lawler from a few years ago and Heyman's shoot on Vince were both much more extreme than this one, but Punk did such a great job with it. Nobody can touch him on the mic. Now, I'm sure this has been discussed in here, but what exactly was the deal with the Stone Cold shirt? Did Punk wear it just as a joke, was he unable to find one of his own shirts or was he wearing it kind of like a " you, I'll wear anything I want" kind of statement? The entire promo owned Heyman and Styles shoots, Im guessing you either missed out the part about The Rock or you Ignored it, It was great and 100% TRUE what Punk said about Dwayne

I think there could be a huge number of reasons Punk chose to wear Austin's shirt. It added an interesting element to things, that's for sure.
I could have simply been an "I don't care" thing, which would go along with his attitude throughout the rest of the night -"what are you going to do, fire me?"
It could have been as a joke, because the characters of CM Punk and Stone Cold are so extremely similar, yet are based off of two vastly different ideals.
It could be foreshadowing, either at suggestion of WWE, or simply by interest of Punk, a program with Stone Cold at some point in time.
CM Punk could have indirectly been stating, as a lot of us have suggested, that last night was his "Austin 3:16" crowning moment, where he broke from the mold and cemented himself as the leader of the company.
Just adds more fuel to the fire and gets people talking.

Here's an update on WWE.com: www.wwe.com/shows/raw/2011-06-27/mcmahon-suspends-punk"UPDATE: As of Tuesday, June 28, WWE and CM Punk have reached an agreement that Punk will fulfill his non-televised live event obligations for the remainder of his contract, through July 17. Furthermore, both sides have mutually agreed not to disparage one another."

I think the plan was to let him do an unscripted and true Promo, but he went way too far with it.
