Now it's obvious that Punk really is leaving after the PPV and that Cena is beating Punk. Well at least i was excited for a few hours.
Having the next Raw taped tonight has hurt the ending of tonights Raw.

Im sure the firing will be just like last years. Either way Cena is probably gonna win.They should have waited and done the Punk shoot at the end of next weeks RAW.

Unless Cena gets "fired" so he can take some time off to rest, and besides it's not like he hasn't been "fired" before. And yeah, the show being taped has definitely ruined it a little... damn Australian tour. ^ Duh... So Punk is back to being # 1 contender? WTF with Del Rio then? I guess Vince will promise him the WWE title shot at SummerSlam? LOL we've got this epic angle in progress, and you're more worried about Del ing Rio? |

I don't see how Cena winning would kill this angle. Punk's legit on his way out, you put the other over. This storyline has already delivered, next week look's like it'll deliver more, then the following week following into hopefully a great match with Cena winning. Plus who really wants to sit through another "Cena fired" storyline? Just around the same time as the last one last year. ^ Duh... So Punk is back to being # 1 contender? WTF with Del Rio then? I guess Vince will promise him the WWE title shot at SummerSlam? LOL we've got this epic angle in progress, and you're more worried about Del ing Rio? Well, they did sorta have him win this #1 contenders match, so that makes him a big deal at hand, fairly quick.  Plus you can't just forget about something that literally just took place in the same night. Wouldn't be surprised if Del Rio cashed in on Cena after he beats Punk. Would rather him beat Cena clean but oh well. |

@j12, I got it from Gerweck. I figured it was likely legitimate, I just couldn't find it anywhere. Most sites are still hanging around the Riley/Miz match. Oh, just as I typed this it went up on PWInsider. Really unfortunate that they decided to go with the Cena being fired angle. It takes away so much from the story. In fact, it damn near ruins it. As much as it feels nice to know, there couldn't have been a worse week to have a taped Raw. Man, can you imagine the anticipation going into next week's show? Now that it's official, kudos to WWE for allowing CM Punk to deliver the single most controversial, incredible promo of the modern era. Every time we doubt them, they go ahead and pull something like this off. |

^ Agreed. If only they did stuff as edgy as this before, would of really sold the storylines even better, quite like the original Nexus storyline.

Del Rio either cashes in the briefcase OR Vince makes Del Rio vs. Punk right after since Del Rio is the contender. That way Punk gets the belt, has an angle if he comes back, and drops the belt so he can leave all at once. That also sets up Del Rio/Cena.... Hmmm!!!! Can you imagine: Punk beats Cena Del Rio wins the case Del Rio cashes it in and LOSES Chicago goes crazy, but Vince comes out and says Del Rio won the Contender spot on Raw Del Rio clocks him with the case or a chair and wins the belt. Cluster but it'd be kind of neat |

I think its pretty obvious Punk wins and someone cashes in on him after the match, keeping Cena employed and letting Punk leave. How do we know Punk isn't already re-signed and part of the agreement on his new deal is that he gets some time off after the PPV.

But WWE won't have CM Punk beat Cena. Not on his last night there. Punk beating Cena then losing to Del Rio would be serious drama.

I think one of the most interesting facts is that they even attempted to swerve the live audience further by giving Del Rio the win.
Anyone who considers themselves privy to the WWE product is likely to know that Del Rio/Cena is a match WWE sees huge potential for. If they just book it out of the blue like that, when it could be saved for a show like Summerslam, it gives off the indication that they're desperate for a replacement.
Granted, that only applies to a small portion of the audience, but I'm sure it crossed their minds.
This whole thing is just incredible.

Vince McMahon comes out and he says that CM Punk deserved his suspension and he talks about how Punk wanted too much money for his new contract. Vince says that he is standing by his decision to suspend Punk. John Cena comes out and he says that Vince loves freedom of speech and he still wants to face CM Punk. Cena says that if Vince doesn’t feel like fighting then he should hang it up. Vince says that he really suspended Punk because he doesn’t want Punk to leave with the title. Cena made fun of Vince being afraid to let Punk wrestle. Cena talks about the match and then Vince tells Cena not to piss him off and not to be like Hogan. Cena tells Vince to give the people what they want. Vince says that he doesn’t give a damn what the people want. Cena gives Vince a speech and then gives Vince the WWE Championship and walks out. Vince tells Cena to wait and he meets him on the ramp. Vince says that CM Punk is reinstated and Cena has his match at Money in the Bank with CM Punk.
