According to a source, there has been on and off talk with SpikeTV that TNA will be taking more iMPACT! tapings on the road. According to Hulk Hogan's Twitter, that will come in August…
"Getting ready for 2days of IMPACT tapings in Oorlando, can't wait till August and we start going on the road every other taping."
Hogan also claims that he turned down a cameo in the new American Pie move, posting the following…
"Just turned down a cameo for the new American Pie movie, they wanted me to dance, I told them they should get Jericho, not my deal brother. HH"
Keep in mind this is Hulk Hogan we're talking about so who knows whether these statements are true. Take them with a grain of salt for now.

He has since apologised for the tweet and removed it, since he annoyed the higher-ups in TNA for revealing that.
So it must either be in the works, and they are testing out the possibility or they want to make a huge announcement on IW for it and Hogan just ruined it.
If this were true I'll be really pleased to see it happen. New fans are just what they need, Impact Zone fans are dead

Why wouldn't it work? They don't make any money off the people showing up at the Impact Zone. Even if they ran 5,000 seat arenas, if they sold merchandise, and managed to sell at least 3,000 tickets I'm sure they'd make a profit.

Why wouldn't it work? They don't make any money off the people showing up at the Impact Zone. Even if they ran 5,000 seat arenas, if they sold merchandise, and managed to sell at least 3,000 tickets I'm sure they'd make a profit. What they would hope for by touring that much is to break even at most. Ad costs, arena rental, local crew paying, paying for truck transport and gas, etc There's quite a bit of factors that go into it. It's not like TNA hasn't traveled before, but add in the cost of bringing a TV truck, it get's pricey over time. Doing it every other week and bringing production necessary for TV could hurt them more for a bit but help in the end. |

They need to go live as well. People will still read spoilers and see if its worth watching and if no they will skip it regardless of where it is. I guess they could make some money doing that though.

All the riff-raff that comes in simply for the schedule will pack on out, and the company will be full of what it was in earlier years: The best and most passionate wrestlers on the scene. |

ECW ran into this towards the end of their run, and ended up giving away as many tickets as they were selling in order to look full for tv. The cost of expense has to be weighed against potential profit, and TNA might not be able to recoup the cost of taking to the road every week. Additionally, while I do think it's good for TNA to expose the country to the brand more, I think these should be warm up runs for going live. I think there are still a lot of WWE fans that might watch TNA if they couldn't read the spoilers. TNA needs to progress as a company and taking to the road is a step forward imo. It is definitely a risk, probably a bigger one than a number of people are even really recognizing, but I do feel like it's the next forward step for them. It will be great for them to get away from the theme park crowd as well as the Impact regulars. They need a fresh focus group and this should do the trick. I hope it works for them. |

there making another American Pie movie WHY??? this and i hope TNA makes this move. even if they move to small arenas in the South, anything is better than constant shows in the Impact Zone. it really doesn't feel like a wrestling show when they're in Orlando. and honestly, it can't be that much of a risk if you're traveling in the South. they're touring with house shows and crapall the time, you'll just need to drag along two trucks for TV equip. and the stage. just stay in the area. |
