I didn't see a thread about this yet, so I figured I'd be the first to write my review. I saw it in 3D last night (I was really against it, but the girlfriend wanted to see it in 3D so I gave in haha)
Holy EFFING WOW!
Easily the most epic movie I've seen this year so far, it's going to be hard for any other summer blockbuster to top this in my eyes. This is what I've been waiting for in a Transformers movie, especially since the disappointing second outing.
It's still a Michael Bay movie, so expect a lot of explosions, shaky cams, and crude humor, but seriously, the scope of this movie is bigger than part 1 and part 2 combined.
Awesome story, the commericals, trailers, etc really, really don't tell you EXACTLY what the plot is, which is amazing in my opinion.
There are some genuinely surprising moments in the movie, I found myself picking my jaw up about 8 times throughout the course of the almost 3 hour flick. Yes, it's long, try not to drink your whole soda in the first act.
The new girl. WAY HOTTER than Megan Fox in my opinion. A suitable replacement, even though this is hopefully the last of the Transformers movies. I honestly can't see how they could top this, this is Michael Bays masterpiece. Hands down.
5/5

Saw it last nite for free. Wish I didn't. Same shyt, different movie. Graphics was a bit better but still hard as hell to follow. Plot was ok till the ending where it got stupid. It's a darker tf but not better, IMO. I nearly walked out when they went with the whole Kennedy plot thing-so unoriginal. I want my time back!.

I cannot wait to see this. I didn't end up watching GL in 3D, but would you say this is a good movie to go see in 3D?
Also, despite what people said about the second one, I still really liked it a lot so I'm sure I'll love this one too.

I place no artistic value in the Transformers movies other than fun, mindless action. A great, summer popcorn flick. So, needless to say, I'm looking forward to this one and odds are I'll enjoy it.
My friends and I are making a road trip to see it in IMAX tomorrow night. We rarely go in IMAX, as the theater is almost two hours away, but movies like this are built to be seen in IMAX.

I went in with low expectations, and some how it didn't even meet those. This movie was just one big disappointment. I'm not harsh on it for being a Transformers fan, I'm harsh on it as a movie fan. It was just not a good movie.

Some people are just way too hard on them.

It looks like a steaming pile, with a million things happening at once, and no particular rhyme or reason. That being said I am going to see it Sunday with a few friends. Fortunately we are going to the bar across the street first, so that will hopefully increase the experience. Though I won't be paying for 3-D.

It was pretty fun. I really enjoyed it. And saying that, I thought the first was decent and didn't even bother to watch the second. But I really enjoyed this one. Good humor, great action sequences at the end, and it really felt, to literally use an overused term, epic.

My nephew is begging me to take him to see it. He also begged me to take him to see "Battle: Los Angeles", which I didn't like.
Am I in for 3 hrs of disappointment then?

I just saw that movie for the first time last night and I thought it was amazing. It was the most realistic alien movie I had ever seen. I'm just curious, what exactly didn't you like about it?

I guess you haven't seen District 9? I still haven't seen the second Transformers but apparently you don't need to in order to understand the third. My uncle, who worked on the special effects for the movie, also said that watching it in 3D is the best bet. I might have to pay to extra to see it, but there are far more better movies out there that I would rather pay for.

Transformers 2 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen so I really don't care about this at all but I'll still see it at some point.

The acting. And the whole "You have to be a brave little soldier" crap speech. The only selling point for me was Michelle Rodriguez was in it.
