Try and make her to believe in God and convince her to go to church with you, and things may change from then. Yes, try to convince others into irrationality. After all, all religious people are happy and all non-religious people are miserable, right? I know what he said about making her believe in God is a bit much, but to call religion "irrationality" seems pretty close-minded. I think you did the right thing man. I wouldn't mess with that kind of stuff. Also a girl with that religion likely has some other major issues you haven't found out about yet. To the people who say religion isn't a big deal... religion says a great deal about who you are as a person/the kind of person you aspire to be. So people who don't believe in god are inherently bad people who don't aspire to "be" anything? Interesting. I don't think he really said that - just as religion can say something about a person, so too can atheism. |

According to a humanist friend of mine, there is not such thing as "right" and "wrong"....just our opinionated self delusion that such things exist.  more of an interesting viewpoint...and less of me trying to interject  |

It's asking you to believe in things that cannot be proven, to take them on faith. Now, I can't speak for Kliquid, but I don't necessarily believe irrationality is a bad thing. However, it seems incorrect to say that religion isn't irrational. I didn't say Christians were evil nor did I say I was intolerant of them. Learn to read. He says that murder (killing homosexuals) and slavery is evil. Now, if Christians believe that murder and slavery are alright, then sure, they're evil. |

Mole, actually he did call Christianity outright "evil" on the third page to start with....after that he tried to reconcile what he said with what he believed to be true about most Christians and the Bible...
On another note, I have to concur that the thought that "irrationality" is a bad thing is not always the case. Though I am sure it was meant as some sort of derogatory statement given the context of the conversation and the intolerance on both sides in this thread.

Then how can you say Christianity as a whole is "pretty" evil. You listed two reasons and that's it. I don't agree with those but still. Is the U.S Army evil for two massacres they may have committed in let's say Vietnam? |
