sucks man. These damn Chumlees stealing all the good figs. I'm lucky I got a fellow board member to help me out or else I would never have gotten Ryder.
I think the lesson I learned from scalping probs this week is to pay the extra few buck when RS puts them out on preorder cuz then I avoid wasted gas $ and aggravation and I get them a month earlier than retail.

Why would scalpers buy these figures? They don't have any resale value on eBay or Amazon, you'd lose money!

Love all of these people saying "I would've taken one out of his cart."... hahaha, no you wouldn't.
Is it aggravating? Yes. Is it wrong? No. He got there first and can purchase whatever he wants. Don't like it? Check eBay, Amazon... hell, pay the $30-something RSC is asking for. Either that, or wait it out.

Honestly if the guy wasn't looking i prob woulda grabbed one out of his cart. Either that or i woulda told him to go himself. I'm not usually a dick to people but that really woulda pissed me off. I would go out of my way to help a kid or someone in a store if i know they want something. I prob. would even give them something i have in my hand if they want it since i am able to go to 2 or 3 different TRU and they prob. don't have that luxury.

Wonder if you could of just agreed to the sale, asked to see them to pick the set you wanted, then just walked off. If he started trouble then you could of gotten a manager involved and said that you got the figures from the display or aisle, and that he was harrassing you about your items.

Wow, what a douche. By the way, I'm kinda new and I don't know the actual definition of "scalper". Could someone help me out?

I feel him buying the figures to sell at marked up prices is the same as a collector buying all 5 or 6 of a figure to trade on here. They have something and you want it, so either give them what they want or go without. Amazing people hate someone because they have to go without their mass produced toys a few weeks longer.

Love all of these people saying "I would've taken one out of his cart."... hahaha, no you wouldn't.- Triple S I certainly wouldn't be intimidated. If I feel like I'm right, I won't back down unless I see a weapon. However, I don't think I'd chance a brawl for a figure. I'd hate to spend an hour at the local police station explaining that the reason I lateral dropped someone into the My Little Pony display was to get my hands on the new Rockers 2 pack.

In life you need to prepare yourself for these defining moments. Why do you think Mr. Fuji always carried salt? It certainly wasn't for his hibachi steak.

Wow, what a douche. By the way, I'm kinda new and I don't know the actual definition of "scalper". Could someone help me out? Somebody, most likely unemployed, who raids their Walmarts and TRUs, cherrypicks all the popular figures that collectors and kids may want and then sells them for outrageous prices on ebay or a flea market. Why would scalpers buy these figures? They don't have any resale value on eBay or Amazon, you'd lose money! It costs anywhere from $7-10 to ship a MOC figure via USPS Priority. The guy would have to charge $50 shipped to make a decent profit margin on a Mattel Elite and even that wont pay any bills unless he does it in high volume.
