Bingo. Racism and homophobia aren't even on the same level, and Punk calling someone a homo isn't being homophobic in the least. My gay friends call other people homo all the time. Don't even compare it to racism. The f word (not sure if safe to use on the forum) is the equivalent of the n word, if anything. It's outrageous that some people get all up in arms over poop like this. what the hell does 'people need to stop pulling the race card out' even mean? people need to stop caring about racial slurs? it's kind of a big deal considering history and all. and yes, racism and homophobia are completely on the same level. i have no idea how you can argue against that. fact is, Punk has yet again shown his true colours outside of the ring. he's using homosexuality as a derogatory term, like michael cole and like ultimate warrior and if they weren't blinded by cm punk's skills as a wrestler, most would hopefully agree that he has crossed the line here. I wasn't alive when black people were slaves...why do I have to hear about it...people have been gay forever... ing half of the famous people of the 1800s were have gay parties and blowing eachother...why is it offensive is someone says gay or fag..it doesn't mean gay or fag...plus the people that complain aren't usually gay themselves they just feel the need to have an opinion and be known for being a bleeding heart.

He messed up and owned up to his mistake; something other WWE employees should have done a much better job of when they went the wrong route with insults.

I'm actually pissed that he apologized. Really killed his heel heat. Yes, I'm sure because he apologized for calling someone a "homo" in a video put on TMZ, that fans will sit on their hands whenever he's on Television or at a Live Event.

The only thing Punk did wrong was apologize. Exactly. The guy's playing a character and he's damn good at it. Because of how prowrestling works, he's expected to stay in character whenever he's out at the ring. I have no problem with that and with anything he may say while playing his character. People are just too sensitive about everything.

Punk's managed to be a great heel on Television without calling his opponents "homos", so I don't see the need to call someone what he called that guy, when your company is partnered with GLAAD. I personally am fine with what he said, because I strongly doubt he has malice intended towards gays, but he's with WWE as they preach about how bullying people at all, and especially about sexual orientation, is wrong.
Dumb move, given your employer's public stance on name-calling like that, but I think his apology was a good enough one.

I don't care. It's funny. LOL, It's remarkable how Slappy's gone from staunch, Punk hater, to full, card-carrying member of the Punk fan club. Here's his promo to open the show "How 'ya doing little England?" LOL.

and the fact that he said it at a house show makes it even worse. if he was on camera, you could argue that he's just living up to his obnoxious heel persona. I wouldn't give a crap if he was in character. I think he's a great wrestler, an even better talker but christ, the more I hear about him outside of the ring, the more of a moron I find him. kudos to him for banging maria, mind you. He WAS in character. I guess you think he's prejudiced against the country of Australia too, he badmouthed them at the same show. He even admits at the end that he was just messing with the guy, what is there to be mad about?

You have the right to be offended.
But dammit I have the right to enjoy it. Just as I have the right to say homo whenever I want.

I was with him other than the "homo" comment. Totally uncalled for. Sometimes, people just don't think.

Regardless, it appears that Punk is apologizing. Whether he's been forced to or not remains to be seen: CMPunk CM Punk I'm glad TMZ posted that video because everybody needs to be held accountable for their bullpoop, me included. What I said was bullpoop. CMPunk CM Punk ...I'm embarrassed. I own up to being a total douche in this situation and I offer a sincere apology to anybody I hurt with careless words. Good of him to do so. Personally, none of it bothers me, they're just words and anyone who is getting bent out of shape over the word 'homo' needs to have a re-think. BUT, that said, him saying 'you homo!' and 'You have a vagina' isn't solid gold, Godly, or amazing. 12 year olds say it. It's nothing special. It all comes down to Punk saying it so it must be greatness I guess... Sure it was kind of funny but don't get carried away, all he did was call someone gay. Whoop-dee-doo. p.s. mustache is actually s***.
