The Beginning
"It was always in my blood, professional wrestling, you know?"
I listened to the man speak as he drew in another breath, exhaling smoke that came from the cigarette which dangled in between his index and middle finger. His dark brown eyes gazed at me, as if I were supposed to know and understand what he was saying.
To be quite honest, I didn't really. I just nodded my head and listened to the man speak.
"Son, I've wanted to start a wrestling promotion for a long time. I've had a giant passion, and I've decided to venture out into the world of professional wrestling. I want you to be on my roster. I know you love the world of pro wrestling as well, and while we will start off small.. We won't lose the passion."
I suddenly clued into what my father was saying.
He wanted to enter the world of pro wrestling.
"Tryouts will be soon.. I want to get this brainchild off the ground sooner than later. Let the word spread."
He spoke with a firm tone of voice, flicking his cigarette into the distance.
And so I did.

Continued from Part 1 I promise I'll stop with these gay monologues soon. It wasn't long until my father had trademarked the name WCWA, which was explained to me as the West Coast Wrestling Alliance. The website domain known as www.wcwa.com was registered under my father's name, and the plan was to host updates, future shows and other miscellaneous items would be put on it. Sign ups to become a professional wrestler in my father's organization were still underway, and I hoped from the bottom of my heart that people would buy into it and attempt to the join the company. Going through the applications so far, my father wasn't so much pleased with the results, not because of the quality of the wrestlers, but the quantity was lacking.. Then the logo came out.  My father soon promised a first ever update on the website soon, and we waited patiently as he promoted the upcoming promotion through the newspaper.. |
