Hey, my name is Tommy, and I have been reading this form almost for a year now and I have always wanted to post but I wanted to write about something that was worth reading, not just my opinion on something.
So today I head out w/ my mom to our local TRU, hoping to find elite 9. I went out this past Sunday (July 3) hoping to see that double-sided display but I had no luck. I asked an employee if he knew anything about the Vince promo, and he said that that TRU didn't get the shipment in yet, but another one about 1/2 hour away did and put it out this morning, so I headed out there just to be to late to see no Miz waiting there for me. So back to today, I went around my TRU looking for the display, but of course no luck, so I went up to customer service to ask another women where it was. She had no idea what I was talking about and called the same TRU that I was @ Sunday and asked them. They said that there was never a Vince promo and they had no WWE display, which got me mad. Then the dick of a manager who I've delt w/ before for Star Wars figs comes by and asks me what's wrong....
I tell him and pretty much accuses me of lying, that a promotion like that would be in the Sunday add and he would have a sign for it in the front. I left, and my mom felt bad for I've been looking for the Miz forever, and I'm a kid, I'm not paying 30$ + shipping for one. Pretty much my TRU bullcrapped me, lied to me, and is not gonna be doing the TRU mail-in. P.S. the dick manager told me just to order it online, because the promotion must not be in stores.
Thanks for reading this rant, I usually never talk like this, and please if anyone else has a TRU that doesn't have the promotion going, please tell me so I don't feel so alone.

Damn that sucks. I hate when you get bunghole managers and employees who think they can bullsh*t someone. I feel your pain don't let it get you down. You'll find Miz eventually.

The customer is never "always right" and most of the time, they're WRONG. For the most part, an employee is much more knowledgeable than a customer.
Ever think that your TRU isn't going to be getting it in (or haven't yet) and he's telling you that facts? Especially with this "pretty much" saying, sounds like you're overexadurating what happened.
Also, how could you be looking for The Miz forever? Nobody but TRU has had Elite 9 and they have only had them for about 7-8 days now. Most have only had them out for 2 days.
If you want it THAT bad and have the money, order it from Ringside, etc. Talk mom into getting it, get it for your upcoming birthday, or add it to your early Christmas list. Getting mad at a manager because they don't have what you want isn't going to get you anywhere closer to the figure.

TRU store managers seem to be clueless when it comes to promotions. My area store's manager had no clue to what I was talking about when I asked him about it. He then said it'll more than likely be on their next truck on Wednesday. I figured he didn't know what was going on so I went back the next day when the employee who always helps me was working.
The next day I had asked the employee if they had any Elites in stock and he looked and the system said there was zero in stock. So I asked if they were scheduled for Wednesday's truck and mentioned the display he then said that doesn't come on the regular truck that comes directly from the vendors and they might have it in back. 5 minutes later he came back saying it was still on a skid in back and asked which I was looking for. A minute later he came back with the 4 figures I had asked for.
I'm sure you'll find it. Because Elite 9 hasn't even hit mass retail yet other than 1 or 2 in the TRU display. There will be plenty by the time TRU/Target/WalMart/Mejiers and other major retailers get their shipments

I used the words "Mattel display..." and he said "The WWE one? It's in the back. We'll be bringing it out shortly."... so not all managers are clueless as to what's going on in their store. - Triple S

The only person who I find more helpful than the few employees I deal with is the assistant manager who deal with my local stores displays/floor plans. Most time the store manager has no clue or ask that guy because in all fairness they (Store Manager) are dealing with other things. lol

Seriously, grow up. Why are you having your mom drive you to all these places, or at least admitting to it? They're just action figures, not life or death. I know the minimum age to register is 13, but couldn't you just lie and pretend to be 18, I feel so weird being on here knowing that there's young kids as well, I feel like Chris Hansen must be lurking over my shoulder...

Pretty ignorant of you to expect all the users on a TOY message board to be 18 and over. Action figures are just as much for kids and teenagers as the are for collectors. Get over yourself.

That was the weirdest comment ever.
Tom24, I'd be pretty ticked as well. The whole point is to sell more merchandise for the store, so why ignore the promotion? I bought 4 figures I wasn't going to. I like what I got, but I was going to hold back, so the promotion worked on me. Hopefully TRU will get more figures in and I may get an extra Vince later.

Oh how I wish I could, being 15 and driving myself around in the state of Ohio is pretty illegal dude, and action figs are not life and death, but are pretty darn cool, but whatever I'm proud of my mom lol. Thanks everyone for the help, and for the few that say that elite 9 has been out for 2-3 weeks, I meant I was also looking @ online retail stores for him for a good price. Maybe I'll try the classifieds...

in the promotion website, it said that only some of the toys'r'us' are participating so it's not like the guy was lieing to you, that store just might not be participating so there is no way he could have known unless he saw it on the internet or heard from a friend
