the IPhone is pretty impressive, I would've never thought I'd have a built in IPOD on a phone that can have access to internet & email & anything else I'd ever need at the touch of a button

Apple did not invent the smartphone.

Youtube. Made it much easier to watch videos of any kind. Movie trailers, music videos, funny memes anything.

I think you are underestimating the power and sheer genius behind Facebook.
Not to mention if it went public, it would be worth over 55 billion dollars.

Greatest invention to me was the e-readers, Im not sure when exactly they arrived but the advancements have caused a burst in usage regardless.
Honestly I loathe them, BUT people reading has increased due to them and because of that I am definitely happy they exist. Better to have people reading more and me not like the device then people continuing down the slope that they had been.
again, thats just my opinion, everyone is different.

Just curious why the loathing for e-readers. Honestly, I think its because of the purist and pretentious person that dwells somewhere in me, if not that then I am unsure otherwise. I just find the BOOK and gazing through them so invigorating. Its calming. I love the smell of a new book and an old book. there is just something so unique as each one has moved from one mind to another. Something just is lost when its on a screen and im skimming books through a screen. its me more so then anything, the device is useful, compact, easier then carrying a book. The books are cheaper and you can carry numerous with you. it has all the advantages of new technology ;D

Facebook, greatest?! I'd say it was one of the worst imo. I'd go with youtube.

I really, really like the e-reader though for all the reasons you listed. I don't have Kindle any more as I do all my reading on my tablet, but I loved it when I had it. I had over 200 books on it all at the palm of my hand. The e-ink screen looks just like paper. The words are still the same. Tom Sawyer is a classic whether you're reading it on paper or e-ink IMO.

I'm gonna say Youtube or Wi-Fi.
Youtube because of all the aforementioned reasons, but Wi-Fi simply because wireless internet is practically used everywhere, with all kinds of devices. It's free in most restaurants, hotels and public venues like libraries and schools. Not being confined to a desktop pc at home and being able to get online almost anywhere in the world is pretty revolutionary, but it gets overlooked because it's so common.

There's something about holding the actual book that an e-reader can never replicate. And the smell of a book, there are few smells finer, haha.

I have to say Youtube. Can't really say about something tangible though. Everything great today is just an improvement of what already existed before the year 2000. this. the ipod is just an mp3 which was a cd player which was a cassette player. just evolved but still a portable music player. And youtube is a great way for anything to happen, advertise your skills, share music, anything
