White House spokesman Jay Carney said the intelligence that led to the warning "does not relate to an imminent or specific threat." But the TSA urges foreign security agencies to ramp up security in response.
"As a precaution, passengers flying from international locations to U.S. destinations may notice additional security measures in place," TSA spokesman Nicholas Kimball said. "Measures may include interaction with passengers, in addition to the use of other screening methods such as pat-downs and the use of enhanced tools and technologies."
Passengers flying from different locations may notice different reactions from security personnel because the agency intentionally tries to be "unpredictable," Kimball says.
The warning comes as terrorist groups try to adapt to increasing security as they attempt to attack a favorite target: the U.S. aviation system.
"Due to the significant advances in global aviation security in recent years, terrorist groups have repeatedly and publicly indicated interest in pursuing ways to further conceal explosives," Kimball says.

It is actually more likely that I will be struck by lightning twice than that I will be in a terrorist attack. I'll take my chances. |

Because those are your ONLY two choices. You can be scanned naked or you can die horribly. There are NO other choices. |

I heard that these surgeries aren't even close to being effective. The news said the last time a suicide bomber did one of these that he died but the person he was attacking wasnt even injured.

I don't want to live in a world where fear mongering is used as a means to humiliate and degrade me under the guise of concern for safety. My solution, special airlines for people who don't want to jump through hoops. If we die, so be it. We took the chance. You show up at the airports 4 hours early for you rectal exam. I will just amble onto the plane ten minutes before takeoff. Of course, this is unrealistic. Even if it were an option, the government would find some way to make it a huge hassle. It would also likely somehow triple the costs of flights, which would make no sense since there would be fewer employees to pay. I don't running my bag through a scanner, but everything else I have a huge problem with. I am tired of letting them blatantly prove that they can  with you any way that they want to. Death first! |
