Submarine 9/10. Really quirky British film that I've been dying to see since i read Noza's review of it on here. (Thanks Noza ) Really great coming of age film which reminded me of Rushmore a little bit. Best British film in ages. I Highly Recommend it. (i haven't seen Rushmore for ages though so i should check that out again)

I am really coming under fire for my opinions on Tim Burton's Batman. I shall try and justify myself: I love Batman. I have loved Batman (the character) ever since I was a child. That being said, I am a film guy. I will not accept blockbuster crap. I am a film fan first, comic book man second. I am not totally oblivious to comics. I read graphic novels as I can keep up with them, just not the weekly comics. I know the Batman character and the villains. I know how it all works. I did see all of the original Batman movies when I was young, but since forgot about them. When Batman Begins came out in 2005, I became fascinated with Nolan's take on the character; a realistic version of a hero that tends to be used in unrealistic ways. And after seeing The Dark Knight, it made me fully believe that there is no other way that the character should be portrayed. It was only recently when I saw Burton's Batman sitting around in the Blu-ray aisle of Tesco for £2, I thought I might as well buy it and give it a go. I am also one of those people that, one minor, minor hiccup can completely change my view on a film. And it tends to be the things of an unrealistic nature that enhance this. Now, after having Christopher Nolan's versions of the Batman story, in my mind, already the absolute perfect vision of the character, I went into this with doubt. It was actually a lot worse than I expected. For a start, it just went into the film with hardly any explanation as to why Bruce was doing what he was doing (this partially gets revealed later on in the film). Nicholson was fine as the Joker, but I refuse to believe that The Joker character can be played better by anyone, in any film after Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. The film also seemed very rushed. And the ending was poor. And Keaton being the best Batman has to be a joke. He hardly spoke (and when he did, it was just mumbles), he showed no emotion and generally sucked. Bale's Batman all the way. I hope this is a satisfactory explanation and this is all, of course, just my opinion, and I will respect the opinions of anyone, no matter what they think. Submarine 9/10. I am very pleased that my review (quite awhile I posted that, aswell) has got people into watching it. Really is a tremendous film, and one of the years best. My last: Super 8 - 4.5/5Been itching to see this for ages, but Paramount UK being Paramount UK, decided they would not release it in the UK until over a month since it was theatrically released in the US. Simply incredible. Like a ed up hybrid of Stand By Me and Cloverfield. Elle Fanning was great (as she always is), as were all the other kids. My only complaint is that, the kids should have had more screentime. Other than that, quite clearly the film of the summer, and one of the years best.

Ha Noza, I've just got back from watching Super 8 as well, you are right when you say its a mix of Stand by me (one of my favorite films of all time) and Cloverfield. I laughed a lot more than i was expecting from this film and i really enjoyed it. There was also a nice touch during the credits showing the film that the kids made. 8/10

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - have no fear, it's awesome! Andy Serkis steals the show as Caesar. The last time I felt this strong for a computer animated character was in District 9. While Apes isn't as good, its still a very strong film. Loved every bit of it and can't wait to see it again.
Full review coming soon.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 9/10.

Oh Noza, not to start an argument, but I totally disagree with many points. First off everyone knows how Batman became Batman, everyone does so theres no need in doing it, and like you said it was explained in the film anyway. Secondly, Keaton was easily the Batman from the 90s comics, he was what Batman is supposed to be, a guy in the shadows, slowly striking and methodically taking down enemies. Its actually been said that Keaton went through the scripts and had parts taken out where he felt Batman spoke too much. But meh, I get that you like a more realistic take on it, I rather a fantastical take, which is what I'm hoping for in the reboot.

Just saw "The Change Up." Pretty hilarious movie. Has lots of F-bombs, bathroom humor, and some nudity.

I last saw Crazy, Stupid, Love.
I liked it a lot. I thought it was great and most of the actors I enjoy. The twist ending was pretty good too I wasn't thinking of that..
I would give the film an 85/100.

Blade II The Incredible HUlk
excellent double bill.I think Blade II is the best of the 3 movies and it makes me wish Del Toro had made 3 too.
and as for Nortons Hulk-well its just excellent.Lee "effort"was so wide of the mark it could have been about anyone but this retcon was outstanding.
also Downey Jrs cameo here is the best of all teasers for the Avengers.pity the post credits scene with Abomination werent filmed.

Yea what? this is what I heard Letterier wanted to film a post credit scene with Roth powered down in a cell-(still deformed and looking incredible evil) and Fury/Stark looking in at him worriedly after a scientist tells them hes still very dangerous. Tim Roth was called away and they decided to leave it undone.

Damn, that would have been sick, I really love the film, but it seems to be the odd one out when it comes to the Avengers, I really think we should have gotten a mention of it in Cap.
