The Chernobyl Diaries.
First half was great then it all went downhill.

The Chernobyl Diaries. First half was great then it all went downhill. I have that sitting on my shelf that I got for my birthday I think, last year(?) but I have yet to play it. I REALLY wanted to see it, same as I really want to see As Above, So Below but I just haven't gotten around to popping it into my player.

Edge of Tomorrow. Fun action flick, although The Raid 2 is still my favorite from that genre this year

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
Really, really solid film. I expect nothing less from this franchise, but they balanced the conversation, action and endless amounts of walking, and walking, and walking very nicely. I can't wait to go see the new one, or wait till it's out to own and marathon them all. We shall see. Haha.

Bolt.
Great stuff here, humour and heart dealt in the right doses.

Hobbit 3- Battle of the 5 Armies. Meh. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I was in a better mood. I'm hoping there are some cut scenes in it when it gets released on DVD. I'm digging how Aidan Turner (Kili) looked a lot like a cross between an early 80s Bruce Dickinson & early 8os Dan Spitz. METAL DWARVES!!!!!!!

Just watched this last night (desolation of smaug) & was amazed - my fav of the LOTR or Hobbit franchise yet (haven't seen the new one yet) Also - White Christmas..very impressed ** Waiting on #31 of Bogart's to record - "Conflict" Stuck on 29 Hitchcock until something new to me comes up

Oculus.
Surprisingly a really riveting horror-thriller. I went into it thinking my wife and I would just be laughing at the hackjob that is what passes for a scary movie today (hated Insidious 2, pretty much every other horror flick the past 9 years) but we left it really impressed.
Apparently this was a WWE Studios film, too. So that's another first for me truly enjoying.

Foxcatcher (2014)
Based on real events, Foxcatcher tells the story of Olympic Gold Medal-winning wrestler Mark Schultz, who after being summoned by multi-millionaire John du Pont, lives on his estate and trains for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Mark sees this as a way out of the shadow of his more celebrated brother Dave. The brothers are soon lured into danger by the eccentric du Pont and face tragedy.
Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, and Mark Ruffalo give transformative performances in this dark, twisted narrative about an unhealthy obsession for redemption.

The Interview.
It was decent enough. Easily Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's worst movie yet, but by no means did I expect it to knock my socks off.

That was filmed a couple of minutes from my house. I am glad it's getting such rave reviews. I need to see it.

I'm watching Close Encounters of The 3rd kind as we speak(Christmas fave for me) and over the last few days I watched
Captain America Iron Man Iron Man II The Incredible Hulk(so underrated) Thor The Avengers Iron Man 3.
we are watching the remaining 3 MCU outings New Years Eve. Also took in Raiders of the Lost Ark over the last few days.
