Okay, well since I am the creator of the phrase 'Thread Head' (I did so back in '09 in the weekly ECW thread), I am now envoking my right to royalties! That's right, each and every one of you with a '_____ Threadhead' user bar or moniker, must now give me a percentage of your weekly wages/karma/blood.
Either that, or your first born.
Well, that's entirely too arrogant or ridiculous for me to ever ask, but I did notice that the phenomenon spiraled quickly from a nice little 'see all you thread heads next week' or catchy little moniker for a tightly bonded band of Bros to the entire site. It got kinda out of hand, honestly.
So use this thread to talk about how much you hate the 'trend' of Thread heading...to praise its creation, or to discuss which threads you've been the biggest fan of (Mentions go to 'are you recording this?' Showstopper, work/shoot Bryan, SDvR).

Because it was cool to hate it at the time because nobody had really tapped into that yet, you were either on board with it, or indifferent to it. Someone noted that, decided to be the first, started the anti-movement, and others followed suit. Goes like that with just about anything that ever sees an ounce of popularity. |

I was an ECW threadhead near the end! Well, not really. But I was invited to their events!
On topic, I post in the NHL thread a lot and occasionally Banter.

joining any group is stupid *Looks at irony of your username*  Anyways, I agree with K5 entirely. It gives a sense of community, it's just a fun way to remember 'I was there'. I will always keep my ECW TH userbar so long as I exist on this site, because it's a badge of brotherhood. Never shall I love another group with the intensity and passion that I did my fellow ECW posters that sparked it from the start. Like dan88 and 1991 (<3) said, I agree with the fact that even people who mocked it jumped on board, and others just disliked it to be counter-culture. But I feel it's an indellible part of WFigs tradition and lore now. |
