A heavyweight bout is in the works for UFC 137 in October with Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson taking on Mirko Cro Cop.
The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the match-up on Wednesday. Cro Cop first announced the pending fight to a Croatian television station.
“I’ve had no contact with Dana White and have not re-negotiated with the UFC. I agreed to my next fight and that’s it,” Filipovic explained. “I can now exclusively confirm that I will fight my last UFC fight October 29 in Las Vegas against Roy Nelson.” ----------------------
*Shakes Head* Roy. KO. 1 Round
Rest of the card so far: - Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz - Kongo vs. Mitrione - Cro Cop vs. Nelson - Hioki vs. Roop

If Roy shows up in his fat gimmick I hope Cro-Cop murders him.

Wow, so far the rumoured card looks stackeddd.
As far as this fight goes, fat Roy or not, I fully expect (as do many), Cro Cop getting knocked out once again sadly.

Right leg hospital, left leg McDonalds I don't give a f*ck, I'll always root for Mirko. If Mirko looses 10 straight, I'll still root for him. If 10 years from now I randomly bump into him at a bar and he challenges me, I'll still root for him. I. Don't. Give. A. F*ck.

Great news, he's still got a fight left...intriguing it's against the TUF10 winner after Cro Cop lost against the TUF10 runner-up...either way, here's hoping Cro Cop knocks out Nelson in devastating fashion.

I'll admit that I've lost a lot of faith in Cro-Cop in the last couple of years (ever since UFC 75 really) but heck - if he's going to go out, I hope he goes out in style and KO's Nelson (preferably via left head-kick).
And I wouldn't say this is an "easy" fight for Nelson... people tend to forget that the Cro-Cop/Schaub fight was pretty even until the KO - and Nelson's not been much more than a walking punch-bag lately. I'd say it's something like 55%-45% in Nelson's favor...

I'll always root for CC. I was elated to watch him run through the OWGP in Pride. But looking at this fight objectively, one haymaker by Roy and it all over.

What happened to Nelson getting off his lazy ass & trying to make 205??
This fight doesn't interest me at all. Crocop isn't a shadow of the fighter he was & Nelson just won't make the effort which is hampering his performances in the Octagon.

No one ever said Nelson was going to go to Light Heavyweight. He was just going to lose weight.

No one ever said Nelson was going to go to Light Heavyweight. He was just going to lose weight. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I heard he already lost 2lbs, so I'm sure he's back at BK now ;D But seriously, I think if he really tried, he could go down to 205 and start really kicking ass

^ If he tried, he could. I'm a couple inches shorter than him, and I went from 250 to 173 in about 9 months. All cardio and cleaning up my diet. If I, the laziest human on earth, can do it, I'm sure if he put his mind to it he could. Just clean up portion sizes, drink only water and eat better. He could lose a great deal that way. Even if he never hit 205, he could still lose at least 30 pounds that way.

Even if he never hit 205, he could still lose at least 30 pounds that way. The only problem with that is, he would be 30lbs lighter than all of his opponents. If he is willing to, he should lose some weight, get some muscle, and continue to work his way to a comfortable weight. Then, he could return in better shape, instead of looking like some random fan they pulled out of McDonald's to fight in the UFC.
