Man, I am tired of decisions already and I'm talkin' about Frankie Edgar here. Can the guy finish a fight or what?? His first loss to Maynard went to the decision. BOTH his fights with Penn went to the decision. His 2nd fight with Maynard went to the decision. Finish a ing fight already for sakes. I am tired of judges saying he won the fight. I want to see him finish one for once!! I am not rooting for him in this one. I want to see Maynard finish him, but if Frankie wants to be a true champion, he's got to finish a few fights here, come on. I'm sure most people are saying the same thing about GSP. Well, GSP has finished fights. He finished Serra off to regain the belt, he's finished Matt Hughes with a wicked armbar and made B.J. Penn quit. This isn't about GSP because he's not fighting later on tonight. It's about Frankie Edgar, so let's keep it about him. I'm begging Frankie to finish a ing fight at least once and prove he's a true fighting champion who can finish fights and not take it to the judge's decision all the damn time. I am not complaining about how good the fights were that he went to a decision in. They are great fights, don't get me wrong. I just want to see if Frankie can finish a big-time fight and so far, he's proven he can't. Enough of the judges decision already. PLEASE Frankie. Finish a damn fight!!

Who else in the UFC has finished BJ, besides GSP? No one. Who else has finished Maynard? No one.
This is hilarious when you actually want MAYNARD to win, when Maynard's last 8 fights have went to a decision. You're actually downplaying the talent in the 155lb division, too. It's the most stacked division in MMA.

I just want to see some fights finished, that's all. I'm just so damn tired of a bunch of judges telling the fighters that they won the fight. A decision is ok, once in a while, but all the friggin' time?? Come on...I want both Frankie and Gray to prove to everyone they can finish a big-time fight. Frankie more-so because he's the champ. Prove what kind of a fighter and champion you are and finish a fight already. Don't drag it out for 25 mins and rely on a bunch of judges telling you that you won the fight. Go out and ing finish one for once.

The lighter weights typically have less finishes, but more exciting fights. They don't punch as hard and they move quicker and are able to slip punches easier.

I've heard a lot of people say how guys should "finish fights" - but to me, it doesn't really matter... some of the greatest fighters/boxers in history weren't known as big punchers or finishers and often went to decisions - surely getting the win is the main thing, whether that means intelligently out-boxing or out-wrestling your opponent by decision or getting a KO or submission. Well it's tough. If Henderson beats Shogun, Henderson would get a shot at Anderson as well. Henderson would make a great argument if he wins in November, but if Chael wins, I can see UFC giving it to him just due to how Chael will market the fight. It will draw huge numbers. The thing with a Silva Vs Hendo 2 fight though is the weight issue - even though Hendo has had some great wins recently, they haven't been at Middleweight - and he won't have fought at Middleweight since early '10 when he was pretty-much dominated by Jake Shields. Can he still make 185 now and be as effective/at his best? If Chael beats Stann though, a Silva/Sonnen rematch is a no-brainer... fight-wise because no-one else has come as close to beating Silva, and business-wise because with Chael being Chael, the promos and build-up etc., it'll be just huge. And awesome. Anyway - Frankie Edgar (c) Vs Gray Maynard Jose Aldo (c) Vs Kenny Florian Chael Sonnen Vs Brain Stann Melvin Guillard Vs Joe Lauzon Leonard Garcia Vs Nam Phan C'mon Frankie, Kenny, and Chael! Can't wait. ;D

It would still be a big fight, I believe. Would have been huge for Fox, too.

Who else in the UFC has finished BJ, besides GSP? No one. Matt Hughes? anyways I think Maynard is going to win this one. Edgar is amazing but I think every fighter has their Kryptonite....and Frankie's is Maynard.

Ah, true. Forgot about him. Still only leaves 2 guys out of all the fighters BJ has faced that have finished him.

Alright, Alex Sean prediction time ya'll...
Mike Massenzio vs. Steve Cantwell Massenzio via neither guy is spectacular and I have to make some sort of decision..
Aaron Simpson vs. Eric Schafer Simpson'll get it done here via the wrasslin'.
Zhang Tie Quan vs. Darren Elkins Gotta go with communism here unless Tie Quan wins a really clear-cut decision in which case the judges will probably give it to Elkins.
Stipe Miocic vs. Joey Beltran Hopping on the Miocic (AKA Todd Duffee 2) hype train. As the great John Lennon said... Don't let me down.
Anthony Pettis vs. Jeremy Stephens This is Pettis' fight to lose. He's got the advantage in every facet of the game, however I wouldn't be surprised if, when throwing some wild, ridiculous strike, he gets clipped by Stephens and gets KTFO. But, chances are, you run this fight 100 times and most of them go to Pettis.
Demian Maia vs. Jorge Santiago Maia via improved well-roundedness. Wouldn't be surprised if Maia gets a KO here as his striking has improved a lot over the last couple of years and Jorge Santiago has the chin of a faberg? egg.
Nam Phan vs. Leonard Garcia Nam Phan will prove to be the superior fighter, so there's about a 65-80 percent change Garcia takes the decision for windmilling missed punches.
Melvin Guillard vs. Joe Lauzon Melvin's been on a great roll lately and has all the tools to win this fight. I'm tempted to pick Joe only because Melvin has, in the past, had an incredible ability to lose fights for himself but I'm gonna side with the young assassin keeping a level head and getting the victory.
Brian Stann vs. Chael Sonnen The smart money is probably on Chael cos of the track record but I hope Stann can get it done here and he's definitely shown the tools, just a matter of whether he can implement them against Chael "12 to 1" Sonnen. Besides, gotta rep the Stann'dwagon.
Jos? Aldovs. Kenny Florian I actually think Florian has a lot of skills to give Aldo trouble but I just don't think his chin can handle Aldo's power and when you consider Diego Nunes in a three round fight was able to knock Florian down twice, I gotta side with Aldo here.
Gray Maynard vs. Frankie Edgar Maynard makes the adjustments necessary and turns in essentially the first round just over a longer period of time and more carefully. Going with Gray.

For those who haven't seen it, the Edgar/Maynard and Aldo/Florian countdown show segments have been posted to YouTube: Man, I'm sorry, but after watching that, I pretty much cannot stand Frankie Edgar. I hope Maynard knocks him the out tonight. I mean, when you are watching that clip, Maynard is watching alone by himself and Frankie just has to have all his buddies and family gathered around cheering him on, patting him on the back and saying he's number 1. That stuff just bugs me. Why couldn't he do what Maynard did and watch it by himself?? He just HAD to have everyone around, right?? Whatever... I agree with Maynard though about the first round, about it possibly being a 10-7. Do 10-7 rounds exist or what?? That has GOT to be THE single closest thing to a friggin' 10-7 as there can be. Depending on the referee, I'm sure it could have been stopped. We've seen questionable early stoppages in the past and I'm sure we could have seen that stopped in the first as well. Maynard looks to be in incredible shape for this fight. He didn't look as solid and muscular as he did in the previous fight. He looks more trim now. I think that will be much better for him. I hope Maynard drops him again and hopefully finishes him off. It is an AWESOME card tonight. I will be watching and I cannot wait.

Massenzio was pissing me off when he would hurt Cantwell and just clinch. Good win though.
