I think I got blinded by all that farmer-tan white.
It's a pity you guys couldn't get Flair to pose with a few hunnies on the beach.

shame it isn't RA but it's a cool figure
would be cool to see some classic crow-style figures of sting next. like an early crow sting with mid-length messy hair and basic makeup, and a starrcade 97 attire sting too with the full-shirt/shoulderpads top.
as far as i'm aware sting owns the rights to his character and those looks so it should be possible.

Anything in reference to WCW unfortunately can't be done in any way, shape or form. That's why we got lucky with this one because it was taken from his match with Great Muta in New Japan. Bash at the Beach would've been out of the question.

Surely it would be OK for Jakks to make a WCW/nWo era Bischoff in jeans, t-shirt and leather jacket, with a younger looking headscan. Obviously they'd have to leave off the nWo logo. But surely WWE can't hold any copyright claims to a young looking bischoff figure in plain clothes without logos?

I would assume, don't quote me on this, because obviously I don't work for Jakks, but that a Bischoff with a plain black shirt and no logos wouldn't violate any rules. It is confusing how it works but I'd say most worthwhile things WWE most likely owns the rights to. For example, I know off the top of my head (I have no idea why) that they never bought the rights to Three Count, so I'm assuming a three-pack could be made of Three Count. But then again, maybe the issue is if something is a direct reference to footage from the WWE library, it can't be made. I could see any of those being it.

But then again, maybe the issue is if something is a direct reference to footage from the WWE library, it can't be made. I could see any of those being it. well whether we understand the rules or not, the important thing is that Jakks legal team makes the effort to investigate which Legends can be made. I'm sure there are still a good number of popular and deserving stars from WCW/WWF/ECW who could be made with no trouble (eg anyone who owns their gimmick), and some that could be made with just some slight alterations too - such as cutting out a logo (eg leave the nWo logo off Eric Bischoff) or using an alternate ring name (eg an ECW-style Dudley Boyz marked as "Team 3D") Ah right I didn't know that about three-count. A classic Three-Count pack would be awesome! I also happen to know Bryan Clark owns the rights to the KroniK gimmick (HINT HINT JAKKS!!). I'm sure theres many more examples too. On a side note, I do really hope the upcoming legends Bischoff is a young WCW/nWo version. A classic Eric Bischoff was such a huge omission from the CS line, especially when you consider that he was signed to a WWE contract for several years (so wouldn't have even cost Jakks anything to make in CS). Since Jakks lost the WWE license it's great to see them still filling some gaps from CS (ie Raven, Terry Taylor, Sting) with their LOTR figures, I'll be so disappointed if the legends Bischoff isn't a young version.

Bash at the Beach would've been out of the question. Just curious - how did you do the Legends Sting which is clearly WCW. Or if it was technically NWA - doesn't WWE own that too. I'm just really confused on how WWE owning the footage gives them any right to Sting's likeness from those days. For example, if Sting did an autobiography he couldn't use any photos that WCW owned, since WWE stepped into their shoes - but he could use independent photos from PWI and other magazines. SO the use of his likeness from that era isn't something the WWE owns. THey simply own that footage. Period. In this case, imagine Sting has photos of himself from that era that he owns. WHy couldn't he make a figure of himself based off of an image he owns? I don't see the intellectual property explanation that would prohibit this. If he had some logo that referenced WCW it'd be an issue. But Sting's look is not owned by WWE or else they could've sued TNA when Anderson dressed up as surfer Sting. The fact that the costume is or isn't from a WCW PPV is irrellevant. I think it's more that no one wants to bother litigating with WWE, even if they're right - it would cost too much.
