I was just wondering this last night in light of the whole sin cara thing
Why are steroids banned in wrestling
Yeah in other sports it gives an unfair advantage and thats why its banned fair enough but wrestling is different because its preplanned
might be a stupid question but i was just thinking about it
btw if this isnt allowed to be here feel free to lock

They're an unhealthy and illegal drug that can cause a lot of damage over time to the human body.

Ask Eddie Guerrero... Oh wait, you can't...
Uncalled for? Maybe, but I think it gets the point across fairly well.

Steroids are extremely harmful to your body and most are illegal.

Because when a Wrestler passes away, the most common cause is past drug/steroid abuse. So the media blame the company, WWE don't want to attract this sort of attention

They're an unhealthy and illegal drug that can cause a lot of damage over time to the human body. This video has some good insight. While I would never touch the stuff because of the "unknown" so to speak. But I do agree, I think it affects everyone differently. I think people do begin to ABUSE the drug so to speak. Wrestlers are probably a big part. I'm sure most people would have thought I would have said bodybuilders, but think about it. Wrestlers have to maintain that perfect physique year round. I think that is where the abuse comes to play.

It's due to the deaths related to anabolic steroid use in the pro wrestling industry. However, I think the steroid use over shadows the cocaine and prescription pill and alcohol addictions that can be directly connected to some of the major deaths we have seen in the past.
Some steroids, HGH is a big one that most people are familiar with, are actually good for your body as long as you are taking them correctly. I strongly believe that Randy Orton is on HGH, and I am willing to bet he is not the only one. Also, there are other products like Var that have not only shown a lack of long term side effects but have also demonstrated an increase in your health in terms of things like blood flow and blood pressure, and metabolism. It all depends on the product and the user, and it comes down to there is just a right and a wrong way to do things.
I'm actually on board with you, I don't have a problem with wrestlers using steroids as long as they are under the guidance of a dietician and a doctor or health care professional that has knowledge of both the products and the individual using them, as each person is different and it's a science. I think the days of mixing jack, coke, and steroids has sort of passed since the wrestlers are not quite the party animals they used to be so if it helps them recover from injury quicker or helps them stay in shape then all the power to them. I'm very much on the "it's a personal choice" bandwagon, but again I stress the education of using them because they are not a joke.

Steroids are illegal....BUT WWE can technically get around it with the fact that there show is scripted and all there out comes are predetermined. In other sports not the case everything is what you see

About 3 months ago, John Laurinitis (Animal to most) had an interview in Muscle & Fitness claiming he had taken steroids when they were legal under supervision from a doctor. I'm definitely on the bandwagon of personal choice. However, I have more respect for a guy who builds his body naturally through nutrition and hard work in the gym compared to someone looking to take the easy way out.

and it makes their penis' smaller. Nice work you two, way to get the cliche's out of the way so the grown ups can talk. Additionally, if you are taking steroids and don't know what an estrogen blocker is, then you deserve tits.

They're an unhealthy and illegal drug that can cause a lot of damage over time to the human body. Bingo. Other than being illegal, I don't see why WWE bans the use of marijuana. It's a pain killer that really doesn't have any lasting effects.

Oh I'm 100% with you on that, when it comes to the respect factor, there is simply no comparison. I think a lot of people prefer seeing a CM Punk or Daniel Bryan make it, over say a Scott Steiner or Hogan type, because they were never blessed with the super man exterior that gave them the free ride to the top, nor did they feel like they had to look like that to get to the top. I can't put myself in their shoes, I don't know what the pressure is like to head out to the ring each night in front of thousands or millions of people in my underwear. I've never used steroids, but I have close friends that have and do and I don't have a problem with it. I've done extensive research on steroid use, I wrote a 30 page document in my sports law class on anabolic steroid use in grad school, and I just feel like they are something that the average person doesn't understand. I do understand why a lot of steroids are illegal though because they do have negative side effects and you can't control the end user. However, so do cigarettes, alcohol, and food (see deaths related to obesity) so I think it's just a personal decision that can be made by educated people.

I hate to say it, but I think once you put yourself in their shoes you ask yourself would you do steroids with a possible known side effect for millions a year? I think a lot of people would. Like I said, it becomes a problem when guys start abusing it. 9 times out of 10 its your local gym rats. These guys get bigger and do not cycle the drug and then by the time they are a couple of years older, they are having kidney failure, heart problems etc. I've never used them, but know guys that do. I know a guy that takes them year around 8 weeks on, 8 weeks off and has had no side effects. I know another guy who is a bodybuilder who takes them year round just going from testosterone to HGH next. The guy is 22. Imagine by the time he turns 30 what his body is gonna say? His endocrine system is gonna say F#CK YOU! And he's going to shut down. The stupidity of some people.

I know with Anavar you can take it pretty much year round but it gives you a fraction of the results HGH will give you unless you take it over time. Still, you have to do vitamins and estrogen blockers, etc. and I still wouldn't recommend anyone do that. I think over use is a sickness personally. Guys start to see results and then they can't stop because they just want to get bigger and bigger. That, essentially in a nutshell, is why steroids are illegal in my opinion, stupidity and misuse.

and it makes their penis' smaller. Is this sarcasm? If not, way to be the classic uninformed steroid basher. They don't decrease penis size.
