Chris Leben, despite not receiving the main event slot against Rashad Evans at UFC 133 that he asked for after Phil Davis had to withdraw due to injury (the slot has since been filled by Tito Ortiz), UFC have given him another big main event bout. This November, UFC looks to head back to England with UFC 138 and Chris Leben’s main event opponent will be Mark Munoz. This match will mark the first time that UFC has used the five-round non-title main event in their history. Leben is coming off of a spectacular dismantling of Wanderlei Silva at UFC 132. Munoz picked up a unanimous decision victory over Demian Maia on the same card. insidefights.com/2011/07/19/chris-leben-facing-mark-munoz-in-the-uk/

Winner of this match should fight winner of Sonnen/Stann for #1 contender I dunno, I think if Stann wins against Sonnen then Stann should be number one contender... a part of me thinks that if Sonnen wins he should get another crack at Silva

Looks like UFC just squeezed this event in. They weren't suppose to come back to the UK this year at all.

I'm pleased they could squeeze us in somewhere... first-ever non-title 5-rounder too (although I'll be surprised if it actually goes the full five). About Stann Vs Sonnen - I really think the winner should get the next title shot. (Provided Anderson gets past Okami), Silva Vs Sonnen 2 is just too marketable to pass up - and Silva Vs Stann would be great too... Stann will have deserved his shot, imo. Maybe have the winner of this (Leben Vs Munoz) fight the winner of Bisping Vs Miller for the title-shot after...?

lol, first non-title 5 rd fight, and it will be over by the end of rd 2.
just a guess, although Munoz could grind Leben out with wrestling

Should be interesting. I think they should do more five rounders. Nice to see it slowly being implemented.

B.S
I'm delighted I'm going to get to go to an event but there would be RIOTS in the US if they tried to sell this as a PPV event.
UK has had two title events before and Dana has promised more.

Looks like UFC just squeezed this event in. They weren't suppose to come back to the UK this year at all. If that's the best "main event" they could come up with, they needn't have bothered. Enough with these crappy UK cards - either start treating the UK PPV's as an equal to the US/Canada PPV's or don't bother coming over here at all.

I've changed my mine due to not wanting to sound like him ^ / seeing some of the rumored fights on the under card.
Alves , Njokuani vs Taylor , Omiwaga vs Shotgun . Praying for a McDonald appearance too

On the bright side, at least you UK'ers only have to pay for an ESPN subscription to watch PPVs. That's not too bad of a deal.

Well... it's hardly a great card - but it IS the only one they've done/will be doing in the UK this year, so a lot of people are going to want to go to it. And at least they're bothering to come at all - there weren't any UK events scheduled for this year... something is better than nothing. Thing with that is, there will always be people that will pay to watch it no matter what. On the bright side, at least you UK'ers only have to pay for an ESPN subscription to watch PPVs. That's not too bad of a deal. Yeah, we have it pretty sweet PPV-wise... especially when there are 2 PPVs in a month (eg. this coming August and October) - works out even better (£4.50 each).

I loved having that, but I've just moved to Michigan now, and me the PPV's are priced stupidly, at least on comcast, I've just not purchased as of late, is there away of paying a subscription and getting them cheaper at all that anyone knows of?

I really like Leben, but REALLY? This is the main event? this should be the 2nd or 3rd main fight...
How much are the PPVs in USA? They are $45 here...

In Canada they're $50 for SD and $60 for HD.

I really like Leben, but REALLY? This is the main event? this should be the 2nd or 3rd main fight... Yeah - but remember, this will be on free/Spike TV in the US (not PPV). I always look at the UK shows lately as more like extended Fight-Nights, rather than standard "numbered" (ie. PPV) events... So, all-in-all, it's not a bad show at all for a non-PPV.

It's still a PPV in Australia, didn't realise it was on free for you guys. I guess it's not so bad then! Still looks really weak though for a numbered event. It goes from all the massive title fights and other huge matches from 130-137 to Leben/Munoz. Just a little underwhelming, is all. I feel they should bring their a-game for the numbered events like this, and Leben/Munoz should be on a Fight Night card.
