Fantastic fight, just like the Cruz/Faber bout. Man, I didn't know any of these guys until the UFC brought in Bantam/Featherweights, but I am so glad they did man

I didn't a single  ing bit of promotion for this fight, I wonder how many people actually saw it? Had it of not been for Wfigs, I would of forgot all about it and had missed a very enjoyable event. |

I really, REALLY liked the fight, but at the same time, I'm very disappointed in both guys' lack of killer instinct. Neither guy really tries to finish the other (besides the botched neck crank by Cruz) and Johnson did TERRIBLE. He kept forcing the clinch with the guy who was dominating him from that position. Johnson actually landed a few nice strikes, but never followed up for whatever reason.
Very fun fight, but I still won't consider Cruz an elite guy.

i actually found the fight somewhat boring. they were very technically sound, and cruz threw off a couple germans that cracked me up, but neither fighter was ever in danger, except for... the 3rd round i believe?... when cruz flattened mighty mouse out and went for the rear naked/neck crank.
wiman/danzig was a fruckin ball.
the stoppage on brenneman/rumble mightve been premature, but if he hadnt stepped in, i think rumble wouldve jumped all over him after the kick and ended it anyway.
and barry/struve started to get fun in the 2nd round. everyone who tries the powerbomb saw rampage/arona, and as awesome as it looks... it just locks it in deeper, unless you drop him strictly on his head and more or less kill him. to be fair though, i thought that was fairly deep in the first place, and he had nowhere to go except to try to slam him and shake him up to get out.
pretty fun night of fights, including the prelims.

Cruz! seriously. I don't really like Johnson but I hate the lay and pray shit, and it seemed that's what Cruz was doing. ruined the fight for me. wiman/danzig was awesome. |
