Yeah, I have to say that I find this thread and the title especially to be quite offensive. What if I made a thread that said "Tired of the black rapper"? so do I man and yeah thats a great example.if you made that thread there would be ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) in uproar. No, no, it's OK for him to post this because whites are holding the other races back in the movies, didn't you guys read the original post??? ![::)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/rolleyes.gif) He's NOT a racist!

The Incredible Hulk is green. Iron Man is kind of copper/gold/silver and red. Spiderman is red and blue. I think you're tired of seeing white alternate identities... ![:)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/smiley.gif) On a serious note, yeah you missed a ton of heroes that have been played by people of color as most have already said.

Tired of the white hero? I'm tired of the non-white whiner. Personally I find it unfair that every super hero in the market of comic books and movies are all portrayed by white people. There's no real diversity in the genre. It seems like a formulated pattern is used to make all these hero flicks cater to the white demographic audience and shun out the rest. I don't consider myself a racist but I do see things for what they are and to sit through a movie that focuses on a 95% white american cast and polishes them to look like god sent angels from heaven, I have to question the motive. What I would like to see is something similar to the Street Fighter franchise which offers a variety of characters from different ethnic backgrounds throughout the globe and engaged in a story that's relevant to everyone. I want to see cultures from outside the USA. Captain America was total patriotic garbage if you asked me and didn't deserve the box office success it has. I would rather sit through some of the more cheesy Godzilla films that were made in the 70s and pay to see it at that than sit through Captain America a second time.

Well, so did Godzilla. That doesn't mean that the source character is changed, it just means Americans got ahold of the idea and screwed it up. Since we're on the subject of reverse-racism, I'd like to admit that I'm a reverse-sexist and won't be happy until BatMAN is portrayed as a woman....See how stupid that sounds? Changing characters with decades of history is USUALLY a terrible idea. Not saying it can't be done, but NEVER at the expense of the character's essence. A good example is Nick Fury, who's always been white in the comics, but became black in Ultimate Marvel continuity and the Marvel Films. No one made a fuss about the change because it worked. Why? The character didn't change, just the race. I will say, modern comic book heroes have many more asian/african/latino/indian/whatever else-hyphen-american heroes. The thing is, EVERYONE has heard of the classic heroes like Captain America, Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, etc. The classic ones were, as it happens, all invented during a time where main, leading characters were white males. It's just how it is. Ever hear of Batgirl? That doesnt sound stupid at all. Be sure to notice upon your revisit of my post that I capitalized the word "MAN" in "Batman." So the question ISN'T "do I think Batgirl (or Batwoman for that matter) is stupid." It's "would it be stupid to see a character called 'Batman' played by a woman?" The answer, obviously, is yes. Especially once you're considering the 70 years of history of the character that you're disregarding by changing the character's gender. I admit that it's ludicrous, but I see where people are coming from when they say changing a character's race is a dumb idea when the character in question has so much history.

The OP has a good point. If there is a Captain America and a Captain Britain, why isnt there a Captain Korea? Even if there are Asian superheroes created by Asian media, they end up becoming white in Hollywood like Son Goku in Dragonball Evolution. I've watched the cartoon and Goku looks pretty caucasian to me. Maybe if Japanese animators didn't go out of their way to make their characters look about as far from Japanese as possible, things might be different.

No I never thought it was bright to change a characters race and I wasn't expecting Captain America to be black or Storm to be asian. And honestly I think the reason why some characters get their ethnic backgrounds changed in the first place is due to the realization that without doing so there won't be any mix of race in these movies/comic books. And the creators won't go out of there way to create new iconic heros who are of other regions and are more suitable for todays standards. Meteor man doesn't count.

Meteor man doesn't count. well...most of the 'creators' are dead now or retired AND there hasn't really been a fundamental superhero created in the last 10 years at all. hell, even interest for batman and superman dwindles, hence their recurrent 'deaths'. truth is, if there was a market for what you desire it would exist. there is no market and therefore there is no product that will meet your expectations.
