John Cena has now held the WWE Championship a record nine times following his title victory last night on Raw . The previous record holder was Triple H, who held the WWE Championship on eight occasions.
If Cena holds the belt through Thursday, he will move past Pedro Morales into fourth place as most combined days as WWE Champion at 1028.

who gives a rats ass, cena sucks and it figures give the belt to rey mysterio and then have is title reign end to who else but the wwe's ass kisser john cena

I was disgusted he won the title from Rey. I don't like how he was thrown in a match with Rey, by-passing the whole tournament. The fact that he won it, made me feel gutted for Rey too. |

Ya know what I think? I think that the WWE is giving the WWE Title to Cena, whenever they do not know what to do with the belt... If they don't have a feud going on with the belt, Cena gets it  |

If they don't have a feud going on with the belt, Cena gets it even thought the current storyline is CM Punk proving that he is the best in the World, and that John Cena being the face of the WWE is not on his level. So last night to me was more like Punk saying, yeah you just won the title, but you didn't beat me for it. |

Yeah it sucked, but it makes sense for Summerslam... Punk vs. Cena. I think they should've had Miz win it if anything, that way the main event would have been heel vs. face and Miz would have something to complain about, being backseat to Punk/Cena. |

I am personally tired of seeing him with the title. I was thinking good either the Miz or Rey was going to be the champ but then they did this and it killed the whole meaning of the tournament.

it's really sad that he has 9 title reigns, but then again, there isn't 1 title in that company right now that means anything anymore- Divas- joke, tagteam-wait, there's a tag division? IC, no clue who even holds that right now lol- U.S, hey, atleast it's defended somewhat regularly, World Title & WWE title-No point having both titles, with the roster as shallow as it is, it makes no sense to have both
