I don't get why people would vote for Bundy, Arn, Tully, etc. guys that have already got great Jakks figures, vote for guys like Faarooq and Savio Vega that never got any type of classic figure, and who still only have BCA's... You guys keep saying this and I have to say that's pretty poor logic. I am a figure collector and I do not display any of my Mattel's, Jakks, Galoob, Hasbro or Toy Biz together. They all have their own displays. I keep Mattel with Mattel...CS with CS...CSDA with CSDA...Galoob w/ Galoob etc. So I don't care if another company made a figure before I want a Mattel version of every figure I purcahsed by Jakks + others. I mean hell. if that was the cas why would I have bought any Mr Perfect that was released after the Hasbro figure as that was a GREAT figure!

I do not see the price of a Legends figure, with shipping, on Mattycollector.com being more than US$28 shipped. I live on the east coast and all the GB figures I purchase are US$20 plus US$8 for shipping (from California). US$35 (w/ shipping) is not a realistic price tag for a figure which was previously priced at US$15.99 MSRP. Not to mention, the character selection being what it is. Only a select few would pay US$35 for Tully Blanchard or Magnum TA. Even if the core demographic for the Legends figures has changed to hardcore collectors with deep pockets. Second, the Legends poll which was on this forum provided you with a realistic demand of the Mattycollector.com Legends figures. Out of 149 voters and 717 votes here were the results. I highlighted the notables. Arn Anderson (61 votes, 8.5%)Barry windham (35 votes, 4.8%) KING KONG BUNG (46 votes, 6.4%)demolition (5 votes, 0.6%) crush (54 votes, 7.5%)doink (54 votes, 7.5%)ddp (83 votes, 11.5%)don muraco (14 votes, 1.9%) tully blanchard (30 votes, 4.1%)tito santana (27 votes, 3.7%) savio vega (19 votes, 2.6%) one man gang (22 votes, 3%) miss elizabeth (96 votes, 13.3%)Million Dollar Man (58 votes, 8%)magnum ta (29 votes, 4%)jyd (20 votes, 2.7%) Jimmy Snuka (19 votes, 2.6%) Faarooq (45 votes, 6.2%)The top characters were by far Elizabeth & DDP with Arn, M$M, Crush & Doink rounding out the bottom. Faarooq and Bundy dueling it out for a chance at the 5th/6th spot. What is even more interesting is the bottom 2 leaders (Doink & Crush) have almost double the votes Magnum TA and Tully Blanchard received. This is striking which is why the Mattycollector poll should start over. It is obvious hardcore collectors (149 voters of this board which chose to vote) want these characters. The only way polling of anything is successful is when constraints are placed on the poll. If not, the poll is invalid due to human error. I think we can all agree the selection of characters and the idea of a poll this size was to good to be true from the start. Also, in my opinion, the Legends line is finished if character like Magnum TA, Tully Blanchard, Gobbly Gooker, etc. are its future. I for one have no interest in characters from the 70's/early 80's (unless huge stars) and figures like a Gooker or the Executioner (at this time). There are more important and memorable superstars which should have priority. Sorry, I am a Golden Era (late 80's & early 90's) & Attitude Era guy which I assume most people are given the fact professional wrestling was at its pinnacle during these era's. It is a very realistic price for them. Watch. They did it with DCUC MotU and JLU. DCUC were $15.99 at mass retail and MotU were also around $15 once they went to their websit they were $25 a figure. With the reason being it costs them much more to produce such a special limited production run. The production run will be pretty much the same as the SDCC Taker which sold for $25 on thier websit and with shipping I paid $36 and some change for it. If I'm wrong great! But that has been their MO since they opened the website.

Magnum T.A is so Low on Our Poll That It Makes you wonder...... I Would think The Majority of Obscure NWA-AWA-WCCW Votes would Come from the Biggest Wrestling Figure Collector Site on the internet, and the fair vote here of 1 vote per person puts him at 4% and Doink the Clown is Nearly Double that.
Like i said Many times, I Respect That People Do Really Want Magnum T.A , But if Legends Line Suffers because a few guys vote him thousands of times into a Win Vote Position then thats not right

Voting was a bad idea no matter what 5 come out at the top. Seriously, why would Mattel screw around with it's consumers like that, tantalizing fans with figures they could potentially make? Either make them all or don't make people vote.
No matter what somebody is going to come away disappointed and indignant. Mattel confuses me because they act like they want to do the right thing, but they keep finding new ways to piss off the consumers.

Agreed. I put all my Jakks figures into garbage bags and put them in the attic, likely never to see the light of day again. I want new, improved, versions of all those guys yup then they'll say , we dont get it , you guys voted for him to be made, and sales were terrible. i guess theres just no market for legends , yadda yadda yadda.... then we'll be back where we were scratching our heads when they blamed us for terrible sales of two packs and legend figs well hopefully not though, hopefully everything sells well regardless and legends pick back up. cuz seriously if legends are done then so is my collection and it would feel Half empty without Earthquake, Hercules , Big Boss Man and many more Nope your right Zombie man. Mattel is just doing this poll too look for a someone other than themselves too blame when the legends line goes under. I mean look at the selection there saying already if this kid who posted is correct ha i mean Bundy is great and Liz but TA and Anderson will be total shelf warmers again cause the only ppl who know those guys are old men ha then there gonna turn around and say OH the legends line was not a hit bla bla bla basically sayin its our fault it went under. that way if anyone bitches to them about it, they can say, "hey we offered you, the fans, too pick the 2012 line up so ya did, and it failed. Its not our (mattel's) fault. Its the customers for making bad choices" Because Bundy and Liz were such big stars in recent history? I'd take Magnum and Tully over Bundy and Liz any day and I'm 22. Tully is one of the greatest in ring performers ever and a key member of the greatest wrestling stable ever and Magnum is one of the greatest stars who never was (due to his injury.)

What I don't understand is why nobody but me wants an iconic "Superfly". He is one of the most popular and most exciting wrestlers in WWF history.

How in the ing WORLD is ARN ANDERSON in the top 5? Until a year ago, Arn's CS figure was still at a local FYE, and his figure shelf warmed at my Walmart for like three years. He's not a stand-alone character. Without Flair, who is he? I can't believe our selection for this poll. This is absurd!

Magnum and Tully aren't older than Bundy or came from a different circa of time. Professional wrestling is professional wrestling, I don't understand why that's so hard to see. It doesn't matter what time period or promotion, it's the same art form. Certainly they might have a different style about them, but at it's core it's the same shit.

People have a narrow minded view as to what the "Golden Age" really is. Some people view it as what went on in the WWE in the 80's because that is all they were exposed to. You have to remember NWA only made money on the east coast.

I still hate this whole idea. It's nice that they are giving people a choice...but still, how many people are even voting for it? Personally I want to see DDP, Doink, Demolition Crush, Savio Vega & Faarooq. Its Not How Many People Are Voting Its How Many Votes Come From One Person Im not trying to define what a golden age is , What i Mean is Some of us were growing up with the 70's , Some of us in the 80's and Some of us in the 90's 9 times out of ten if you grew up watching Razor Ramone and Yokozuna , You wont know Who Tully Blanchard or Magnum T.A are. (dont argue this, you know what i mean) We Should All Respect the fact that we have different opinions on who should be made , But Mattel Should Be Figuring out Fairly Who Is in Highest Demand, I dont think they are doing a good job at that. If Magnum T.A Gets 5000 figures made and Sells 500 because of flawed votes, that will hurt all of us even you Magnum T.A super fans . (If your butthurt i used Magnum T.A as an example then Substitute Doink the Clown) Whatever happens i just hope for the Legends line to continue

I dont Care who wins, i just want the vote to be fair so mattel can plan accordingly and hopefully Legends Will be a Success and continue exactly sure i'll be disappointed if the guys i want don't win the poll, but i can appreciate that the whole market and future of the line is more important than just what i want. i really hope mattel sees this post. they're moronic for not implementing a fair voting system, this poll is utterly useless. all it shows is which collectors are multi-voting the most, it gives no real indication of who is wanted most or who will sell the most at all. mattel has seriously dropped the ball on this one.

Nobody know who is wanted more or will sell the most until the figures are actually put out and they look at the final sales for all figures released. This board is only a small portion of the voting. As I've said since the beginning there shouldn't have been a poll. And this is coming from someone who would buy everyone on the list except Doink & Savio. But if they felt the need to have a poll it should have been a 1 time shot. Not once a day every day. Or in somce cases multiple times a day

If Legends are US$25 I am not purchasing any of them. How does Mattel justify selling Legends for US$25 when Mattel has DM which is defined as its premium line priced at US$22.99-US$25.99? Sorry but there is no way in heck I would purchase Magnum TA, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, King Kong Bundy, Savio Vega, Tito Santana, JYD, OMG, Don Muraco, Doink, Faarooq, Crush and Snuka for US$35 shipped. It would be difficult to purchase Andre, Liz, DDP & M$M at this price as well.
In my opinion, we can all agree this process, to this point, has been an utter failure even before the final poll results/sales numbers come in.

I've got a crazy idea: WAIT. Let's just let the cards fall where they may. Especially when it comes to price. God, people. Stop jumping the gun on assuming the price. Just....quit. We don't know ANYTHING yet.
-OR-
If you don't like the results thus far (and really, there should be a daily tally showing reults), then quit bitching, and do something about it. I personally, being 29 years old, grew up during the 90's and Attitude Era, and will vote for what I know best. I voted for DDP, Doink, Savio Vega, Elizabeth, and Farooq. My personal preference. And I voted for them A LOT. Probably 50 times just today. I'll probably do 50 more tonight, but it's too nice outside to be inside, clicking a button all day right now. You want to sway the votes away from the bland boring NWA guys? Then get off your ass, and do it. If not, when the results come in, and it's not to your liking, you ave no reason to complain. They always say you have to fight fire with fire. You want to beat the "fanatics"? Play their game. I am. I'm doing MY part. Do yours.
And I'll buy ANYONE that comes out. I'm a fan of Tully and Arn, and TA.....OMG, JYD, etc etc..........but I'd rather have who I grew up with and know best.

If they make the top 5 from taking 1 vote from each person, and made them accordingly, say 2000-3000-4000 pieces , maybe it will warrant a 2nd year... I'm really hoping its successful enough for a 2nd year, I wish it would be successful enough to muster up hope for retail legends again

Well, the Undertaker was $36.52 after tax & shipping for me. and I really think they will charge the same price as the Undertaker because they are going to be such small production runs compared to mass retail. The cheapest I see them selling for is $20, but it still will be almost $10 more with sipping and taxes. So you are still looking at $30 per figure.

You don't KNOW that, PJ. You don't. Guess all you want, but until the time comes where we see how much we are actually charged, you're just making random stabs in the dark.
I have the most simple solution for anyone that gripes about price....whatever it may be: Don't buy them. If you are that destitute, or unwilling to spend whatever amount it is to receive the figures that you want, then maybe you need a new hobby and should be spending your money elsewhere.
