JOBBER RETROSPECTS- Development Champs that failed in the big show (pun related to the wrestler not intended).

IDK why I did this. I was just researching and keeping my own records and ironing it out myself. A lot is from memory and the lulz. You may notice a certain... favorite wrestler of all of ours in there. ENJOY






OVW title-


Doug Basham is 40 years old already. Older than Christian who had a longer and more fullfilling (and still alive) WWE career. Danny's only 33 though. Yknow they looked nothing like each other and were 7 years apart and weren't related at all but they did the TWIN SWITCHING. Logical.
I mean Doug was one of those guys who were booked as the future of wrestling in developmental... and stunk it up when they got to television.


Nick Dinsmore was pretty major in development for years. He became Eugene. Yip.


Brent Albright (real name of former OVW champ) got 2 and a half months on Velocity with vague ties to Chris Benoit as his mentor. Well, Gunner Scott, as he was now known, got killed off by The Great Khali and was never seen again.


Paul Burchill- Dude was like the face of OVW with four title reigns. Generic English dude with Regal didn't work out. Pirate gimmick was great for what it was... but rumor has it that Vince didn't like it or didn't get it. He was supposed to come back strong in a possible incest angle. But they went PG. That just turned him into... generic intense jobber to the stars on Heat. But whatever. That storyline would've been freaky anyways.

Aaron "The Idol" Stevens- Got in a tag team that went nowhere with KC James/Michelle McCool. Most notably they jobbed to London and Kendrick in like a two month span. Got fired. Lost most of his hair. Now is in FCW again. Will he get a second life like Crofty did?

Brad Bradly. Aka Ryan Braddock. His bio page could only say "he wasn't afraid of the Big Show in his debut match. Well, that didn't stop him from being squashed. From the AMAZING same "New Talent Initiative" graduating class that brought us Braden Walker, Gavin Spears, Scotty Goldman, and DJ Gabriel. His titantron consisted of him taking off his hat and kicking the Big Show (but don't worry- they cut the clip at the part where Big Show no sold it). I think got killed off by Jesse and Festus when moving to MyNetworkTV.

Johnny Jeter. Spirit Squad. Random RAW battle royal participant. Yip. Next wrestler.

Chris Cage. Former OVW champ in like, 2005. Got fired. Rehired and thrown into a random tag team with Trent Barretta in FCW who at the time was dressing as a woman. Saved their two careers (well trent is young and rising), but unfortunately Croftdaddy as he was now known didn't last a year on TV. The only win that I remember Caylen (alone, aside from the ECW squashes) getting was against Chris Masters with Trent's interference. Sad really.


FCW title- not many fails here. Swagger became WHC. Sheamus the WWE champ. Most of the other champs are NXT guys currentley on TV (Riley, McGillicutty, Slater, Gabriel). Mason Ryan is going to have his time. Tyler Reks... well... he could soon be eligible for this list. Lucky Cannon as well (couldn't get over as himself or as "dashing" lucky). DREW MCINTYRE WHO I FORGOT OH CRAP is probably more in the camp of the Rileys and Gabriels rather than the Tyler Reks crowd. And we've yet to see what Bo Rotundo can do.

But there is one... "gem"...



Eric Escobar. Alright, at first when they added him to the Survivor Series team on his debut match, I was a little "meh" over him getting in. But he was a new face, and they were at least building new stars. They realized they screwed up and took him off the team. He turned on his "associate" Vicki Guerrero and had a short face run for about three weeks. And not a single was given.

I dont give a chainsaw about most of those jobbers
