WrestleMania 23
April 1st, 2007 - Detroit, MI // Ford Field
Kicking off the show, we have Aretha Franklin who sings "America the Beautiful" When she finishes, the fans give her a standing ovation and a good hand for her efforts.
Next a massive video hyping all the hype prior to WrestleMania XXIII tonight. It highlights the Cena/HBK feud, Batista/Undertaker feud, and some of the other major ones such as Orton/Edge, and the Battle of the Billionaires and how all of them will be settled tonight on the granddaddy of them all, WrestleMania 23!
We head to the arena where we see a sweet display of pyrotechnics and the camera pans to the 80,103 on attendance for this big event! The three announce teams: Lawler and Ross, JBL and Cole, and Savinovich and Cabrera, the spanish teams welcome us to the event and promote it for a bit. The bell rings and it's time for our first match.
Mr. Kennedy defeated. CM Punk, Carlito, Johnny Nitro, Shelton Benjamin, King Booker, Kenny Dykstra, and Matt Hardy in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match @ 17:11
The order of entrances went like this: Kennedy, Carlito, Nitro, Punk, Benjamin, Dykstra, Hardy. Of the eight, Matt Hardy and CM Punk got the biggest pop, and Booker and Kennedy garnered the most heat. This match began as an all-out brawl. Kennedy quickly brought a ladder in the ring and tried to set it up and climb the ladder while everyone was brawling. Matt Hardy stopped him and threw him to the outside. The action spilled to the outside, and while everyone was brawling, Benjamin climbed the ladder and splashed off the top of the ladder with a senton on all seven competitors. He's the first to get up, and he runs into the ring and positions the ladder to climb. He's eventually stopped by Carlito who clubs him in the back. Meanhile on the ramp, Kenny Dykstra dropkicks Hardy off the ramp. Carlito gives Benjamin a Back Stabber off the top of the ladder to a big pop. Moments later, two ladders are position in the center of the ring. On on side, there's Booker and Punk brawling and on the other, Kennedy and Carlito are on the other side. Dykstra comes and sticks a ladder in between the two ladders, making a ladder bridge. It pays off, as Kenny Dykstra goes to the ladder and beats on Carlito. He shoves him forward and he falls through the bridged ladder. Kennedy capitalizes reaching for the belt. Dysktra kicks him off the ladder and delivers the Sky High Leg Drop from the top. Carlito and Kennedy both fall to the outside on Benjamin and Booker who were getting up. CM Punk seizes the opportunity, climbing the ladder, the only man up and almost gets it. Soon, Matt Hardy returns as well, and they trade soup bones on the top. Johnny Nitro was clotheslined to the crowd gets in the ring and pushes the ladder, but both Hardy and Punk use great footwork to go from ladder to ladder. Nitro comes close to getting it, but Benjamin hops on the ropes to a ladder. Meanwhile, on the outside, Booker T gives Kenny a Book-End off the ladder. Punk comes into the ring, and pushes both ladders down, all four competitors crash to the outside or barely in the ring and he climbs the ladder. He comes close to getting it, but Kennedy smashes him in the face with the ladder. Kennedy takes advantage, the only one up and grabs the briefcase!
A few in-depth replays were shown of what happened during this spot-fest, and then we head back to the arena where Kennedy is at the top of the ramp gloating his victory as seven of the competitors who lost are either out cold or angry at losing tonight.
We see the outside view of the Ford Field as the commentators are discussing WrestleMania Axxess. We see a video of that before heading back to the arena.
Todd Grisham is on interview with World Heavyweight Champion Batista. Grisham names some of the superstars who were defeated by The Undertaker and asks if he's doubted himself a bit. Batista says that of the five that Grisham named, he believes none of them are capable of doing what Batista can. He says that the Undertaker is nothing more than a myth of a wrestler who's faced mostly meaningless superstars at Mania and he'll prove that when the Undertaker, get's undertaken.
A graphic shows that tonight on the AT&T double voting machine that you can vote for who will win the Batista/Undertaker as well as the Cena/Michaels matches for later tonight. The bell rings, and our next contest is soon underway.
Chris Benoit def. Montel Vontavious Porter to retain the United States Championship @ 13:20
MVP has a nice entrance tonight. He comes out in the tent with cheerleaders in the background. Chris Benoit is out next and he stares intently at his United States Championship before the match begins. The match begins, and MVP goes for the leg, taking down Benoit. They trade some great mat wrestling before Benoit locks the arm. MVP attempts to hit a clothesline, and Benoit ducks. He gets things started greatly with a german suplex followed by two more. MVP rolls outside the ring before Benoit goes after him. Benoit kicks him in the gut and brings him back in the ring. MVP takes advantage, kneeing Benoit in the skull as he was entering the ring. He hits the hip toss back into the ring, and then stomps away at Benoit before locking in the headlock. Benoit manages to break loose, but MVP knees him in the gut and then gets a suplex to go with it. MVP lifts Benoit for yet another suplex and then he goes to the second rope. He connects a crossbody for the two count. MVP whips Benoit off the ropes and tries a hip toss, but Benoit reverses and tries to lock in the Crippler Crossface, but MVP reverses with an olympic slam! MVP locks in a bodyscissors, carrying this match. Benoit manages to break loose of it with an elbow to the face and MVP comes right back to a slingshot suplex. Benoit goes to lock in the Sharpshooter and MVP is close to tapping out, but barely reaches the ropes. Benoit sees an opening and goes to the top for the Diving Headbutt missing! MVP tries a Playmaker, but Benoit reverses and locks in the Crippler Crossface in the center of the ring. MVP nearly goes inches from the ropes, but can't make it in time and taps!
Chris Benoit gets to his feet moments later after that grueling battle and he holds his ribs but grabs his United States Championship and heads up the ramp, raising his championship in pride. MVP sits in the ring in defeat, despite a great job with the match tonight.
Backstage, we see WWE Champion John Cena preparing for his WWE Championship Match tonight before Kennedy walks to Cena and asks him how he's doing. Cena replies saying fine and Kennedy asks if he's preparing for the WWE Title Match tonight. He says yes and Kennedy says that that's the dumbest thing he's ever done. Because tonight, it doesn't matter if he beats Michaels because he might not walk out WWE Champion if he decides to cash in on him. Cena replies saying, "Go ahead. And be the first man to lose the Money in the Bank briefcase." Kennedy backs away from Cena angrily as they staredown. We cut back to the arena.
The Great Khali w/Ranjin Singh def. Kane in a Battle of the Giants Match @ 6:14
Kane makes his way out to an amazing ovation, one of the biggest tonight if not the biggest so far. Khali gets some solid heat, which could lead to a nice push for him. This match begins with Kane punching away at Khali before he can make it into the ring. Khali shoves him back, but Kane boots him to the outside. Kane slides outside the ring and kicks Khali in the head. Ranjin Singh yells at Kane and then runs from Kane. Kane goes after him, but runs into Khali who chops Kane in the face. Khali rolls Kane into the ring and hits two clotheslines and then some chops to the head at the turnbuckle. Kane blasts Khali in the head and then goes to the top rope for a flying clothesline. He tries to hit a sidewalk slam but Khali is too big and Khali hits him in the back and grabs him by the throat and tosses him across the ring. Khali attempts to hit the Khali Bomb, but Kane kicks him in the gut and hits a scoop slam which brings back memories from WrestleMania years back when Hogan scoop slammed Khali. Kane grabs Khali by the throat for the Chokeslam, but out of nowhere, Khali hits a Khali Chop for the three count.
The Great Khali raises his arms in trimuph after the victory, his first at WrestleMania. He heads up the ring with Ranjin Singh as Kane sits in the ring in anger.
Backstage, we see Todd Grisham interviewing Shawn Michaels. Grisham asks him how he feels about tonight's match for the WWE Championship. Shawn Michaels says that he feels alot of different ways about the match tonight, but he only cares about one and that's triumph. Michaels says that throughout his illustrious career, he's always been the man that can put on the greatest matches, but one thing he never does is win it. Michaels says that the new found mean streak he's developed won't allow him to be defeated tonight. Michaels leaves as we head to the arena for a nice view!
The divas make their way to the ring. As our lumberjills for this Women's Championship Match. Melina makes her way out, staring down the face divas and showing off her Women's Championship before Mickie James comes out and gives them all high fives.
Melina def. Mickie James in a Lumberjill Match to retain the Women's Championship @ 3:34
Mickie races right at Melina with a Lou Thesz Press and mounts punches at her. Melina breaks free of Mickie's grasp and slides to the outside where the faces throw her right back in the ring. Mickie James has Melina begging in the corner and gives her fiery forearms, and whips her to the opposite turnbuckle. Mickie charges right into Melina's boot. Melina grabs her by the hair for a sick neckbreaker. Melina throws Mickie to the outside to the heels where they stomp away at her. Melina goes to get her some too, but the faces come to get her. It turns into an all-out brawl. They slip in the ring, and the referee is trying to sort out things. Mickie kicks Melina in the gut and tries a Mickie-DT, but out of the heels hits Mickie in the back. Melina takes advantage hitting the California Dream which gains her victory.
Melina takes her Women's Championship and races to the top of the ramp, tripping on the ramp. The faces tend to Mickie in the ring. Replays are shown, before we fade to a video package.
We head to a video package which promotes WWE Backlash, which marks the first PPV with all three brands with major matches. It will air on April 29th, 2007.
We head into the arena and see the Detroit Tigers who are in action tonight for WrestleMania 23. Our next bout begins, now.
We head to the commentators, where first they show us the voting machine where 56% of the WWE fans think that John Cena will leave Detroit as the WWE Championship. Then, they lead us to the promo where Shawn Michaels won the #1 Contender's Match for the WWE Championship, and how this feud has escalated majorly. The bell rings and it's time for this match.
Shawn Michaels makes his way out to the ring, with the DX theme and white and red attire tonight. John Cena's entrance took the show tonight though. John Cena drove the 2006 Shelby GT-H Black and Yellow mustang into the arena breaking the WrestleMania glass, and coming out to a loud mixed reaction from the 80,000+ in attendance.
John Cena def. Shawn Michaels to retain the WWE Championship @ 28:20
This is probably the most anticipated matchup of this whole night, and his kind of our half main event tonight. This one kicks off with Michaels getting the arm, and working over it, before he knees Cena in the ribs and gets him on the turnbuckle where he lights Cena's chest with chops. Cena manages to counter every chop with a thunderous punch, and then he hits Michaels with a big clothesline. Cena kicks him in the gut and hits a throwback and follows it up with the scoop slam/elbow drop for the two count. Cena lifts Michaels on the top rope, and attempts to hit a superplex, but Michaels shoves him off and hits the crossbody, but is caught by Cena, who brings HBK to his shoulders for an F-U, in which Michaels makes it to his feet in mid-air and attempts a Sweet Chin Music but Cena ducks, and Cena clotheslines him hard. Both men lie on the mat in stamina after that battle. Michaels is last to make it to his feet, so Cena whips him off the ropes and hits a big fisherman's suplex and then one handed bulldog for the two count. Michaels rolls to the outside, and Cena goes to go get him, but Michaels pulls him right into the steel steps. Michaels puts Cena on the announce table and goes up to the apron, and hits a slingshot moonsault to the outside through the table on Cena. Michaels rolls him into the ring and gets three nearfalls. Michaels looks to get things going with two punches, an atomic drop, a punch, and then a scoop slam to Cena. Michaels goes to the top rope and connects an enthatic elbow drop. Michaels gets up and tunes up the band, but Cena would duck the Sweet Chin Music, Cena tries a back suplex, Michaels gets away and hits a forearm smash and kip-up. Michaels lifts Cena up to his feet, and attempts the Sweet Chin Music, but Cena ducks, bounces off the ropes with two shoulder blocks, then the back suplex bomb and 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Cena goes for the F-U, but Michaels slips off and nails a Sweet Chin Music. Michaels falls on top of Cena, getting the two count. Michaels lifts Cena to his feet, and nails a sudden F-U for the two count! Both men are laid out, and make it to their feet, Cena kicks Michaels in the gut and attempts to lift Michaels on his shoulders, but Michaels slips off, kicks Cena in the gut, and hits an old finisher of his, a teardrop suplex. Michaels tunes up the band a third time, and tries for the STF-U. Michaels scrambles around for about two whole minutes. Cena delivers vicious headbutts to the back of the head of HBK, eventually leading to him tapping out!
Shawn Michaels is laid out on the ramp, Cena on the other side of the ring is laid out as well. Cena makes his way back to his feet. Cena gets an amazing mixed reaction from the crowd tonight. Cena attempts to shake hands with HBK on the ramp, but Michaels just turns him down and walks up the ramp. Cena shrugs and shows his WWE Championship off to the crowd, as we head to a promo.
Backstage, Todd Grisham is standing by with Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy. Grisham asks Hardy how big an opportunity he has to beat arguably one of the greatest WWE superstars ever on the grandest stage of them all. Jeff Hardy replies saying that his whole life he's always dreamed of being the greatest super in the WWE. He this is this first chapter of Jeff Hardy's rise, and with all due respect to the great Ric Flair, his book will be closed tonight. Hardy heads to the ring.
Jeff Hardy def. Ric Flair to retain the Intercontinental Championship @ 14:42
An amazing Intercontinental Championship Match here tonight. The crowd is split tonight. Extreme people as well as women and kids root for Jeff, but the classic fans are for Flair. Jeff Hardy and Ric Flair lock up, in what was a vicious collar and elbow tie-up. Hardy wringers Flair's arm for a while before Flair rakes his eyes and gets him with some knife-edged chops. Flair lifts Hardy to the turnbuckle, which ends with Jeff Hardy shoving Flair off the turnbuckle and attempting a Swanton Bomb. Flair rolls away and Hardy crashes to the mat. Flair takes advantage and chop blocks Hardy and works over his leg for a while, obviously gearing up for the Figure Four. Hardy ends up kicking Flair to the turnbuckle and he races at Flair, but Flair dodges, which leads to Hardy nailing Flair with a Whisper in the Wind. Hardy quickly stirs, and prepares to hit a Twist of Fate, but Flair low blows him behind the ref's back. He spins him around for the stalling vertical suplex. Flair locks in the Figure Four Leg Lock moments later. Jeff Hardy, who's the underdog in this match defied the odds, making it to the ropes. Hardy on the turnbuckle sees Flair coming at him, gives him a mule kick to the turnbuckle where he hits the hardyac arrest but Flair kicks him across the ring. Flair runs right into the suplex facebuster. Hardy goes to the top, taunting to the crowd and nailing the Swanton Bomb which connects! Hardy crawls to the cover, getting the three count.
Hardy finally realizes he's won and he sits up holding his Intercontinental Championship. He goes to the top rope, holding his championship in front of 80,103 in attendance tonight, his biggest crowd and it brings him to tears. He and Flair share a hug. Flair tells Hardy what sounded like, "Your the future." Flair leaves and Hardy stays in the ring to celebrate a bit more.
Mr. Kennedy is wandering around backstage and runs into Batista. Kennedy begins to speak, but Batista cuts him off and says that he already knows. He wants him to be aware that he's won the MITB, but frankly, he doesn't really care. Batista tells Kennedy if he does cash in tonight, then so be it. But he should know cashing in means losing, so he should pick his casher wisely.
Backstage, we see Doink the Clown, Torrie Wilson, and plenty of the other superstars left off the card tonight for this show. Soon, The Miz walks by with Extreme Expose. The divas begin to dance. Ron Simmons walks by and lets out his signature word, "Damn!" The crowd give a nice pop, before our next match gets underway.
The ECW Originals make their way to the ring through the crowd to Sandman's music. Then, the New Breed, lead by Elijah Burke.
The ECW Originals def. The New Breed in a Eight Man Tag Team Match @ 5:48
Dreamer and Burke get us going tonight. Burke gets the advantage with the kick to the gut and takes him to the turnbuckle where he mounts away with boxing blows. Dreamer comes right back, but is kicked in the leg by Matt Striker. Dreamer gives him the forearm to the face, which leads to Elijah Burke hitting the jumping reverse russian leg sweep. Burke stomps away at Tommy Dreamer. They work over Tommy for the moment, before Dreamer reverses the Irish whip, and Thorn makes a blind tag. Dreamer gives Striker a body drop, but Thorn boots Dreamer in the head. Moments later, Dreamer hits a massive clothesline. Sabu gets the tag in and hits a slingshot clothesline to Thorn. This gets their team going with frequent tags, ending in RVD hitting Cor Von with a hurricanrana, but is thrown forward into both Thorn and Striker. Thorn takes advantage hitting RVD with the Original Sin. Thorn comes and clotheslines Sandman off the turnbuckle, leading to Dreamer coming and hitting Thorn with a Dreamer DDT. It all begins a massive brawl in the ring and outside the ring as well. Striker is tagged in, and RVD and Striker are last in the ring. RVD gives him a savate spinning kick. He heads to the top and nails a Five Star Frog Splash, and holds his ribs before he takes the three count for his team.
Rob Van Dam leads his ECW Originals up the ramp in celebration of their victory. Elijah is yelling at his team in the ring, which pumps them up. None the less, The ECW Originals reign supreme tonight.
We see the theme for WrestleMania 23: All Grown Up, showing John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Ashley, Torrie Wilson, Undertaker, Batista, Shawn Michaels, and Booker T as kids.
Bobby Lashley (Donald Trump) def. Umaga (Vince McMahon) with Stone Cold as Special Referee in a Battle of the Billionaires Match; Vince McMahon must have his head shaved @ 12:23
Bobby Lashley and Umaga have an intense staredown from corner-to-corner of the ring. The match begins and Lashley and Umaga traded blows before Lashley wins that battle and whips Umaga off the ropes, but it's reversed and Lashley bounces off the ropes, Shane getting a shot to Lashley's kidneys while he's running. While Austin is dealing with Shane, Vince McMahon gets up the apron. Bobby Lashley clotheslines Vince off the apron while Trump laughs at him, meanwhile Lashley turns around into a savate kick that knocks Lashley out cold. Umaga gets a two count. Umaga lifts Lashley to his feet and nails a Samoan Drop. He takes control for the moment, locking in the shoulder nerve submission. Lashley makes it to a vertical base, and he elbows Umaga. Umaga knees Lashley on the side of the ribs and locks it in again. Lashley comes back with another elbow and shoves Umaga back a bit. Umaga runs back right into a Spinebuster for the two count. Lashley tries for a Spear, but Vince distracts him. Austin comes and knocks McMahon off the apron, but turns around into a big kick from Umaga. Lashley takes Umaga out with a Spear, but turns around to Shane McMahon who nails him with a trash can. He instructs his dad to hold the can in Lashley's face. Shane nails a massive Coast-to-Coast! Vince takes Austin's referee shirt off him and tries to put it on, but Trump tackles Vince to the mat and went at him. Shane kicks him in the head and then puts the referee shirt on. He counts, but Lashley manages to get a shoulder up at two! Shane McMahon and Umaga attempt to take out Lashley, but Lashley comes off the ropes and Spear's Umaga! Shane McMahon hits an amazing dropkick on Lashley and heads to the top, connecting a Leap of Faith. But as he turns around, Stone Cold drills him with a Stunner! He takes back his referee shirt, and Umaga tries to give Austin a Samoan Spike, but takes a Stunner, right into a second Spear from Lashley, which gives him the win!
Lashley beats his chest in pride and he is estatic at his first WrestleMania victory. Austin and Trump share a laugh as Shane and Umaga remain laid out. Vince McMahon tries to head up the ramp, and almost sneaks away, before Lashley comes to bring him back to the ring. Lashley and Austin get him in the barber chair and shave him bald, with a bit of shaving cream on top. Vince McMahon looks on embarassed, and looks at some of the fans laughing at him, as well as Trump, Austin, and Lashley. Something unexpected would come up, even Umaga was having a hard time keeping character.
A RAW video airs, with the feud of Cena and HBK. It asks the question: "Did Cena leave Detroit as champion, or did HBK re-live the boyhood dream once again?"
The show returns to the commentators speaking on behalf of the WWE, giving a special thanks to Saliva for "Ladies and Gentlemen", which is the theme song for WrestleMania 23. The bell rings and our next bout is underway.
Paul London and Brian Kendrick race to the ring, and then following them, their opponents, Deuce n' Domino make their way out with Cherry as we have our WWE Tag Team Championship Match.
Paul London and Brian Kendrick def. Deuce n' Domino w/Cherry to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships @ 7:26
A pretty wise choice, putting this match on the WrestleMania card as the crowd was pretty hot for this one tonight. London and Kendrick realized that Deuce and Domino were stalling time, so they both dove to the outside on Deuce and his partner Domino. Kendrick and Domino kick things off. Kendrick works over Domino's legs with kicks, before hitting the hurricanrana. Kendrick goes to the top rope, but Deuce runs at him. Kendrick kicks Deuce in the face and knocks him off the apron. Domino takes advantage, hitting the enziguri and knocking Brian off the apron. Domino and Deuce make frequent tags to work over Brian with kicks to the face, suplexes, and rest holds. Kendrick breaks loose of one, and Kendrick shoves him back, Deuce running right into the dropsault from Kendrick. He tags in London who hits a slingshot dropkick on Domino while he was running at London. London comes in and tosses Domino to the apron. He ducks a boot from Deuce, which nails Domino off the apron. He tags in Kendrick, who nails Deuce with a Sliced Bread #2 and tags in London who nails a Shooting Star Press on Deuce, getting his team the three count as Kendrick leaps on Domino on the outside.
Kendrick and London celebrate their win, hugging one another and then raising their WWE Tag Team Championships high for the fans to see. Deuce and Domino alongside Cherry head up the ramp in disappointment.
WWE's "Please Do Not Try This At Home" video hits the show. It lasts around 30 seconds. We head back to the show.
Backstage, we see Todd Grisham interviewing Edge. Grisham asks Edge about his feelings about Randy Orton. Edge says when he thinks of Randy Orton, it makes Edge feel stupid. Because since 2006 the two have been a team of World Tag Team Championships and only minor success. And he never realized that Orton has been taking advantage of him, and he realized that Orton almost took the spotlight of headlining WrestleMania 23, when he's been the one dominating this group for this past months. Edge says Randy Orton claims he's been the leader of this group, but it's easy to say with Edge backing you up. But he feels that Orton is all talk, and now, we'll see where Orton's guts are, and if he can take on the stars without Edge carrying him there. Edge leaves, as his theme hits.
Randy Orton def. Edge in a Grudge Match @ 13:30
It's hard to see how these two gladiatiors have only fought once in one-on-one action. These two put on an epic match for the fans tonight. This one started off fantastic. Randy Orton immediately tried for an RKO, but was pushed to the turnbuckle. Edge waited for him to turn around and attempted a Spear, in which Orton leaped into the air. They both look at each other in amazment before locking up. Edge gets in a headlock and then is whipped off the turnbuckle. Edge wins the shoulder block battle, coming off his feet as he rises and gives Orton some shots at the turnbuckle and then whips him off the ropes for a missed dropkick. Orton waits for him to get up before giving him a hard clothesline and throwing him into the turnbuckle. He puts him on the the turnbuckle and gets pushed off the top rope. Edge catches his feet and prepares to jump. Randy Orton gives him a mid-air dropkick for the two count. Orton locks in the headlock, and the Edge seems to favor Edge right now. Edge elbows Orton, and takes advantage, Edge almost breaks free, but Orton gives him the inverted backbreaker. Orton awaits Edge rising to his feet, and attempts an RKO, but Edge breaks free and nails a Edge 'O' Matic for the two count. Edge hits Orton with an Edgecution for the shocking two count. Edge gets furious and goes into the corner, stalking him for the Spear. He runs right into the RKO! Randy Orton goes to cover, but gets a two count! Orton is arguing with the referee before turning his attention back to Edge. He whips him off the turnbuckle, before trying a hip toss. Edge makes sure he doesn't connect the hip toss, and bounces off the ropes with a vicious Spear! Edge doesn't make the count right away. He crawls towards Orton and finally drapes an arm across Orton, only getting a two count! Edge is in disbelief, and lifts Orton to his feet, but out of nowhere, Orton breaks free and drills him with a finishing second RKO which he gets the victory with.
Randy Orton lies on the mat for a moment before getting up, knowing he just got a victory over his former Rated RKO partner. Orton gets a pretty mixed reaction for the victory. Edge gets to his feet in the ring in anger. He leaves before we head to another package.
WWE promotes their new DVD, WrestleMania Anthology. It comes out this Tuesday.
We head back to the commentators table where the commentators reveal that we only have one more match left on tonight's super card, which is Batista vs. The Undertaker for the WrestleMania 23, which plans to be the biggest match tonight.
We head to a promo for that match, before Teddy Long comes out and does the privileges of announcing that match. Undertaker makes his way to the ring, getting an amazing pop. Batista follows, actually getting plenty heat for being a face. Some cheers were thrown in, but it's obvious who the fans are going for.
Undertaker def. Batista to win the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event @ 18:30
The two staredown until the bell rings. Batista instantly gets things going on a good note, giving Undertaker a vicious Spear to open the match. Batista brings Taker to his feet and drills him with some closed fists before giving him the shoulder thrusts in the corner. Batista whips Taker off the turnbuckle, but gets hit with a massive clothesline. Undertaker takes advantage nailing Batista with soup bones on the ropes, before whipping him off the turnbuckle for the body drop. Taker sees Batista in the corner and races at him for the clothesline, which connects. Taker scoops Batista up and throws him face first into the turnbuckle, and nails a big boot. Undertaker drops to his knees and gets the two count. Taker lifts Batista to his shoulders, but Batista clips off. Batista pushes Taker off the ropes and nails the Spinebuster. Batista shakes the ropes and prepares to end this match right now. Batista tries to give Taker a Batista Bomb. Taker body drops him and then raises his hand for the Chokeslam, connecting. Taker locks in the Fujiwara Armbar, leading to a later Old School. Batista manages to break loose as he makes it to his feet, and kicks Undertaker in the gut, and nails the Batista Bomb! Batista goes to cover, getting a close two count! Batista sits up in disbelief that Undertaker kicked out of it. He lifts Undertaker and gets him the corner and blasts away with punches, elbows, shoulders, anything Batista could think of. Soon, though, Undertaker comes right at Batista with some massive blows as well. Undertaker kicks Batista in the gut and nails a Last Ride! Undertaker drops to his knees once more for the cover, but Batista somehow gets a shoulder up. Undertaker is pissed off. He does the cut-throat taunt, and lifts Batista up for a Tombstone Piledriver! Undertaker sticks his tongue out in confidence, eyes rolled, he gets up the World Heavyweight Champion.
Undertaker falls on his back, before using the ropes to make it to his feet. Undertaker takes his World Heavyweight Championship, Batista still laid out. The titantron shows that Taker is 15-0. Taker walks up the ramp and looks back at Batista still laid out. His traditional, icy glare that last thing we see, as Undertaker holds the World Heavyweight Championship high, as WrestleMania 23 goes off air. |

WWE WrestleMania 23: Sunday 1st April 2007...I'm liking this already. Your images aren't working by the way. Mr Kennedy still winning the Money in the Bank briefcase was a good call, although I'd have rather had someone else win the match, such as King Booker or even Matt Hardy. If I'm honest, Kennedy in 2007 isn't ready yet to step into the WWE Championship picture. Solid opening contest. Good WWE United States Championship match between Chris Benoit and MVP, but I would have had Montel Vontavious Porter win if you wanted to focus on the 'future of wrestling' perspective of WrestleMania. Regardless, a nice match that should have perhaps been allocated more time. You gave it four more minutes of ring-time, think if they had another six minutes on top of that. Match of the year candidate, definitely. The Great Khali beating Kane...accomplished the job it was set out to do, but it was the filler of show. Melina beating Mickie James is fine; I wish you had ridden of the Lumberjills stipulation though, these two Divas had the potential to put on a solid match if given the opportunity. Also, I'd have rather seen Shawn Michaels and John Cena main event WrestleMania; still a solid match, definitely my preferred over Batista and the Undertaker. Jeff Hardy and Ric Flair...I'd have rather not seen this take place honestly. It just seems random and is just here to make Jeff look like a big deal as WWE Intercontinental Champion. The ECW Originals beating the New Breed was the right decision, may have been too short a match though, honestly. Bobby Lashley beating Umaga still was fine in the Battle of the Billionaires, it got the job done. Umaga having a hard time keeping character; bad idea. Should have kept him fearless. Paul London and Brian Kendrick beating Deuce 'n' Domino: has no place being on a WrestleMania card. Not at all. Also because it was given more time than the ECW eight-man tag team match. I'm not fond of it at all, in fact it just chops time from every other match on the show. Randy Orton and Edge main eventing the RAW brand over Cena and Michaels is never good, even if these two can have a good match. In addition, I feel like the crowd would have been too exhausted to care at this point on the card. The Undertaker still beating Batista was a right call in a decent main event, but I still wish Shawn and John went on last. Overall, a solid starter for the diary, with a good WrestleMania; but it had too much on it. Some unnecessary calls made on this show, but for the most part, a better rendition of the show.

Monday Night RAW

Special thanks to Ryan for the graphics.
Our show kicks off showing replays of WrestleMania 23, and especially RAW's main match, the WWE Championship war between Michaels and Cena. It showed all the false finishers, counters, etc and how the 28 minute battle came to an end when Cena forced Michaels to submit to the STF-U. Cena standing tall with the WWE Championship was the final picture we seen.
Our show begins with Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross welcoming us to Monday Night RAW's fallout edition. They hype how amazing the WrestleMania 23 show was last night and how tonight is going to be just as big. Tonight's main event is John Cena and Shawn Michaels taking on the World's Greatest Tag Team for the World Tag Team Titles in our main event.
Shawn Michaels makes his way out to the ring and says that last night, he walked into the WrestleMania 23 main event for RAW, the most confident man in the world, and walked out with nothing. Michaels holds his World Tag Team Championship and smiles at it before saying that with the prestige that the World Tag Team Championships carry is amazing, but it's nothing compared to what he could've earned just 24 hours ago. Michaels claims that he will not come out here to complain, but he does want another WWE Championship Match at Backlash. "The Rated R Superstar" Edge makes his way out to the ring, and he has a storied staredown with HBK because of the history between the two. Edge says that Michaels should know better than anyone how deserving Edge is of a WWE Championship Match, and HBK blew his shot last night. Michaels nods his head and says that he has plenty respect, but plenty hatred for Edge, but will admit that Edge is the 2nd most deserving on this roster. Michaels tells Edge that for years, he's been known for being "Mr. WrestleMania" and not for winning, but just for putting on great matches. Edge agrees that Michaels doesn't win at WrestleMania, which is why Edge thinks he should get his shot, after all, he hasn't had a shot since 2006.
Randy Orton makes his way out to the ring. Orton grins and asks them if they wanna talk about winning. Orton tells them to remember that of the three, he's the only one that actually won a match at WrestleMania last night so his argument speaks for itself. Michaels says that Orton has defeated Edge, but he cannot defeat Michaels. Edge whines that he's the best superstar in this arena and he will not go unnoticed. Edge says that Shawn Michaels is nothing more than a used to be superstar, who's too stubborn to step down for new better talent like himself, and Orton, he's an underachiever who's make a career off mooching off leaders like Triple H in Evolution, and Edge in Rated RKO. Orton says that Edge doesn't have much to back him up, considering he lost to him last night. This leads to a big argument. All three silence, as Johnathan Coachman's theme hits. Coachman comes to the stage and tells them to calm down. They will all have their chance, considering he's in a good mood. But not until next week. Much like the match we seen before, next week it'll be Michaels vs. Edge vs. Orton, the winner going to Backlash to face John Cena for the WWE Championship. As for tonight goes, Michaels has a World Tag Team Championship defense to look to, and that leaves Orton and Edge. Tonight, they will both be in action in singles matches. Coach's stipulation is that if Edge or Orton lose tonight, they are out of next week's #1 Contender's Match. Edge and Orton's smiles turn to desperate looks. Meanwhile, HBK is pretty content, as we head to break.

Kenny Dykstra def. Carlito w/Torrie Wilson in a singles match
A pretty good opening contest between two RAW superstars who participated in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match last night. This match began with Kenny getting the upper hand with a knee to the gut and then the mounted strikes on Carlito before whipping him off the ropes. Dykstra bounces off the ropes to a dropkick from Carlito. Carlito takes advantage hitting a suplex and then a slow spinning neckbreaker for the two count. Carlito set up Kenny Dykstra for the Reverse STO, but Dykstra pushed up forward. Carlito ran up the ropes for a turnaround splash, but was caught by a mid-air dropkick from Dykstra. Carlito was obviously hurt, and he held his ribs, and walked right into his swinging snap neckbreaker which spells victory for Dykstra.
Kenny Dykstra celebrates his victory and heads up the ramp ready to brag at the fans. Torrie tends to Carlito in the ring, as Dykstra heads backstage.
Todd Grisham is standing by with WWE Champion John Cena. Grisham asks him how he feels, coming off one of his greatest matches at WrestleMania 23 just a day ago. Cena says that he feels exactly the way he did last year, and that's a bit bruised, but still a happy man at that. Cena says that with all the ludacris going on between this #1 Contender's spot, he just wants to say that he takes on all challenges. So whoever he faces at Backlash, he just has a few choice words for them. Those words are, "if you want some, come get some!" Cena salutes and walks off, as we head to commercial.
We see a small video of WrestleMania 23, which promotes that it'll be on all week for repeat on cable.

We return to Monday Night RAW where Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler hype tonight's show, where we have a massive World Tag Team Championship main event, as well as next week's #1 Contender's Match.
Mickie James and Ashley def. Women's Champion Melina and Victoria in a divas tag team match.
Last night at WrestleMania, Mickie James came extremely close to winning the Women's Championship two years in a row at the event, but after a blatant shot from Victoria, she came up short. Her and Victoria kicked off things and she was extremely vicious on her. Melina made a blind tag and saved this match from becoming a squash. Melina had almost beaten Mickie with the neckbreaker, but Mickie James gives her a jumping facebuster. Mickie tags in Ashley as she takes Victoria to the outside. Ashley goes to the top and hits a Starstruck, pinning the Women's Champion!
Ashley and Mickie James celebrate the big win, but Mickie doesn't smile. She has an 'revenge' like look on her face at both Melina and Victoria who are sitting in the ring in anger at their loss.

We see a promo that hypes WWE Backlash, which takes place on April 29th, 2007, in three weeks.
Edge def. Ric Flair in a singles match to retain his #1 Contender's spot
A great match here tonight for the fans to enjoy. Both these guys are coming of WrestleMania losses, and are looking to rebound. Edge seems extremely desperate to when, as he gets an early Edgecution. Edge stalks Flair early on for the Spear, but Flair drop toe hold, and attempts to lock in the Figure Four Leg Lock, which he does. Edge makes it to the ropes and Flair breaks it at two. Ric walks at Edge but is hit with a whiplash. Edge bounces off the ropes for a thunderous Spear, as he gets the three count.
Edge is extremely happy that he has survived and made his way into the #1 Contender's Match next week. Ric Flair sits up in anger.
Backstage, we see Shawn Michaels who's stretching and all before his match against Benjamin & Haas tonight. Randy Orton walks by, and says that he thinks he and Michaels have alot in common. They are both winners, they are both better than Edge, and can both be WWE Champion. But one think seperates them apart, and that is that one of them is going to be all those things, and that is him. Michaels asks him what's his point. Orton says that his point is, he wants Michaels to make it that far, so he wants to take out Edge, so it can come down to the two best in the ring. Michaels says that as a man who's betrayed more partners that Orton's won titles, he knows all about assisting superstars, and then turning their backs on them. So he won't team with Orton, but he will give him one thing to think about if he can. Orton asks what's that. Michaels drops Orton with a Sweet Chin Music. Michaels laughs and walks away.
Backstage, we see Vince McMahon who has a WWE rag over his head so we can see the bald. He's on the phone with someone, and it goes on for about five more seconds. He gets Umaga and Shane, and will be out to the ring, next.

Vince McMahon makes his way out to the ring, alongside Shane McMahon and Umaga. Vince prepares to speak before being showered in boos. Vince tells them to shut up! Shane takes over and says that these fans are very immature and need to show come respect. Shane says that last night was a conspiracy and if it wasn't for Stone Cold and his cheating ways, Donald Trump would be bald right now! Shane tells these fans that they are just as big a losers as their sports teams, and he gets head for that. Vince McMahon says that he knows that Bobby Lashley and Donald Trump are watching and he just wants to say that they are far from done with them. Vince and Shane leave the ring, as Umaga prepares for a match, coming up next.

Umaga def. Super Crazy
A pretty lopsided match here tonight. Super Crazy launched a few wild strikes, barely staggering the big Umaga. He comes off the ropes to a samoan drop. Umaga picks him up and nails the swinging scoop side slam. He nails him with the Wrecking Ball, and finishes him off, lifting him in the air and dropping him down with a vicious Samoan Spike for the three count.
Umaga makes it to his feet, going crazy at his victory. Umaga leaves with Vince and Shane before Vince hops in the ring, and says that he'll be paying Lashley a visit on ECW tomorow night, and this is what they will do to him. Vince lifts Crazy up, and Umaga kicks him right in the face. The trio stand tall over Super Crazy as we fade to commercial.
We see a preview of SmackDown which asks if Batista was the first man to break Undertaker's streak, or did Undertaker pick up his 15th win at WrestleMania to notch the World Heavyweight Championship. Find out, live on CW11, 8/7c for SmackDown!

Randy Orton def. Viscera in a singles match to retain his #1 contender's spot
Randy Orton seemed a bit off as he had this match, probably because of the kick Michaels gave him minutes ago. He favored his chin for most of this match, which allowed Viscera to take over the early portions of this match. In the end, Viscera was closing in on the win as he came off the top rope for a big splash, missing. Orton took advantage connecting an RKO to take another big victory.
Orton celebrates as well. He heads to the stage to taunt a little bit at Viscera. Edge and Orton staredown on the stage before we head backstage.
John Cena is walking to the arena with both his titles, and they defend the World Tag Team Championships, next.

We see a promo which hypes next week's RAW and the bit main event between Michaels, Orton, and Edge for a #1 Contender's spot at Backlash.
World's Greatest Tag Team def. John Cena and Shawn Michaels to win the World Tag Team Championships in the main event
This was a very good main event to top off the show. Cena and Michaels were hot in the beginning, making frequent tags. Cena and Michaels clotheslined Haas and Benjamin over the top rope as we head to break. We return to the show, and Benjamin is working over Cena with a chinlock. The replays show that Cena had Benjamin for the F-U, but Haas pulled his neck for a rope backbreaker, allowing them to work over Cena. Cena proceeds to break loose and hits the back suplex. Cena and Benjamin both make tags. Michaels and Haas come in, and Michaels hits two punches and then hits an atomic drop, following an elbow drop. Michaels tunes up the band, and right before he does the move, he tags in Cena. Michaels drills Haas with a Sweet Chin Music and he turns right into Cena, who has him up for the F-U, before Michaels nails Cena with a Sweet Chin Music. Haas is on top of Cena and they take the victory.
Benjamin and Haas head to the timekeeper's table and take the titles, estatic as they go up the ramp. Michaels stands tall over Cena holding the WWE Championship high above him, as Monday Night RAW fades to black. |

- Very happy to see Kennedy win MITB. Keep him injury free so he can cash in that thing.
- Always felt that MVP deserved the win here, so a little disappointing to see Benoit win. Although it's not a huge problem as I'm sure MVP will win the US title sooner than later.
- God Awful match. Khali winning is fine. Please make Kane credible again.
- Not a bad call here as Melina was more than decent around this time. Just a basic Mania Diva's match though.
- Great match and a solid call to have Cena go over. HBK deserves to have at least one more go as champ at some point though.
- Hardy going over Flair was the right call. Flair telling Jeff that he's the future puts him over pretty big.
- Always hated this match as I felt that RVD and Burke deserved better at Mania. An average match nonetheless.
- Lashley going over was incredibly predictable. Didn't really like Umaga having a hard time staying in character though.
- Filler match, but a good one at that. Totally see Deuce n' Domino taking the titles at some point, but it was nice to see London and Kendrick have their "WrestleMania moment".
- Probably my favorite match on this show. Orton and Edge were my two absolute favorites during this period and I'm honestly surprised this didn't happen in real life. Glad that Orton got the victory.
- This match going on last made me think for a second that Batista would actually win. Glad he didn't though. Taker as World Champion is a solid way to close 'Mania.
- Very solid Mania, better than what WWE actually did. Looking forward to what's next.
- A solid opening promo with the three contenders. I fully expect Michaels to win, but I would be all for a Fatal 4 Way.
- Always thought that Kenny had a lot of potential, could probably be in the spot that Ziggler is in today. Glad he got the win.
- Average Divas match. Obvious that Mickie and Melina's feud will be continuing.
- Good victory for Edge to keep his #1 contenders spot. Hopefully Orton can do the same.
- Super Crazy = buried. At least it allows Umaga and the McMahons to bounce back from their WrestleMania loss.
- Happy that Orton retained his spot. Viscera's love machine gimmick was really going nowhere here. Please bring out Big Daddy V at some point.
- Michaels turning on Cena was expected, but still sweet. WGTT winning the titles... hoping for a feud with them and the Hardys or something along that nature.
- Good Raw. Post-Mania is always a tricky period to book, but you seem to be doing just fine.

April 3rd, 2007 // Fort Wayne, IN - Allen County Memorial Coliseum
The usual intro kicks off ECW tonight before the small pyrotechnics hit the stage. Tazz and Joey Styles welcome us to ECW, just 48 hours removed from WrestleMania 23. They hype how big a show we have tonight, which promotes New Breed and ECW Originals leaders, Rob Van Dam and Elijah Burke in tonight's main event.
ECW Champion Bobby Lashley makes his way out to the ring pretty happy. He jumps on the apron, before taking the microphone and letting his cheers die down first. He circles around before saying that he always dreamed of this moment. Last night was the biggest night of his life. He won at WrestleMania in front of 80,000+ fans, defeated Umaga, whom everyone ruled over him, and best of all, Vince McMahon got what he deserved, when he had his head shaved! Bobby Lashley goes on to repeat what was shown on RAW, when Vince said it's far from over. Lashley says that Vince knows where he is when he wants a war, but the fact is, Vince doesn't have anymore hair to shave, so the only fun I'll get is dominating anyone Vince will put in front of him.
Vince McMahon makes his way to the stage, alongside Umaga and Bobby Lashley. Vince McMahon says that Bobby Lashley is gonna get his. He tells Lashley to trust him. You never cross the boss. Vince announces that next week, Bobby Lashley will defend his ECW Championship against Shane McMahon. But tonight, why not soften him up. Because coming up next, Bobby Lashley is in action against this man. Vince McMahon and his crew step aside, as Snitsky makes his way out to the ring, before glaring at a smug Vince McMahon. They square off, next.

ECW Champion Bobby Lashley def. Snitsky in a non-title match
Bobby Lashley and Snitsky traded shots to the face, Lashley winning before whipping Snitsky off the ropes, but he gets kicked in the face. Snitsky boots Lashley in the gut and then gives him some knees to the gut. Snitsky takes Lashley out with a gutwrench suplex. Snitsky stomps away at Lashley before lifting him to his feet dropping him with a scoop slam. He lifts Lashley up once more before whipping Lashley to the turnbuckle. He runs right into the boots of Lashley. Snitsky turns around, before Lashley spins him around and nails a Spinebuster to Snitsky for the two count. Lashley nails Snitsky with a running powerslam, and then he stalks Snitsky for a Spear, connecting as he gets the victory.
Lashley takes his ECW Championship and holds it high for the fans tonight to see. Vince McMahon, Umaga, and Shane McMahon are furious as they leave.
Backstage, Matt Striker and Marcus Cor Von walk to CM Punk. Striker says that Punk's just the man they were looking for. Cor Von tries to recruit Punk to the New Breed, in which Punk replies to saying, "I would never want to be one of you." Cor Von tells Punk he's gonna regret it. Cor Von and Striker leave, as Punk smiles, and walks down the hall, preparing for his match, which is next.

We see a promo which hypes WWE Backlash which airs on April 29th, 2007, in just three weeks.
CM Punk def. Hardcore Holly in a singles match
This was actually a pretty good match. CM Punk has going strong in the early goings with that muay thai background of his. It almost leads to an early victory, but Hardcore Holly catches his knees in the corner and tries to win with an Alabama Slam, which Punk rolls through, getting the two. They get up, and Hardcore Holly nails a vicious clothesline. He works over Punk's head with a brainbuster, DDT, and then a suplex, but in the end, Punk makes a late rally, and finishes off Holly with a Go 2 Sleep.
CM Punk celebrates his victory. We quickly cut to backstage where Rob Van Dam instructs his ECW Originals group not to come out, but to be his back-up if the New Breed try to make it 4-on-1. Rob Van Dam leaves, and on split screen Elijah Burke is practicing some blows on the way to the ring for the main event, live on ECW!
A quick replay of WrestleMania is shown. It hypes the week long encore that will go on.

Before this match begins, a few pictures show the New Breed vs. ECW Originals match last night at WrestleMania.
Elijah Burke def. Rob Van Dam in a main event singles match.
This was a pretty lengthy main event here tonight. Elijah Burke took advantage with an eye pake early on, and he knocked RVD down a few times. Elijah Burke ran at Rob Van Dam, who pulled the ropes down for Burke to crash to the outside. Rob Van Dam pulls the ropes down and springboards onto Elijah Burke on the outside, getting a nice pop from the crowd. Rob Van Dam brings Burke back in the ring, and lights him up with some kicks: spinning, jumping, whatever he thought of. Rob Van Dam went to the top for the Five Star Frog Splash, before the New Breed come out. Rob Van Dam leaps on top of all four of them. Rob Van Dam gets into the ring, and goes and Elijah Burke knees him in the face, and then takes the covering off the turnbuckle. The referee tells him not to and puts it back together. Rob Van Dam kicks Burke in the face and attempts a Five Star Frog Splash, before soon, CM Punk races down the ramp, and shoves CM Punk off the top rope. He ducks down as the referee turns back around. The ECW Originals come down to the ring, but were too late. Elijah Burke nails a Elijah Experience on Rob Van Dam, and takes the biggest victory of his career.
Elijah Burke gets to his knees and celebrates his victory with the New Breed. CM Punk backs up the stage, as Burke and the New Breed stand tall to end this week's edition of ECW.[/font] |

Friday Night SmackDown
April 6th, 2007 // Fort Wayne, IN - Allen County Memorial Coliseum
Our show kicks off with a repeat of WrestleMania 23's main event, Batista vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship and how big a war it was. It shows how the Undertaker won after a Tombstone, to make himself 15-0 at WrestleMania.
Michael Cole and JBL welcome us to Friday Night SmackDown. They promote tonight's main event, and how big WrestleMania just five days ago. Tonight's show will see The Miz have a massive opportunity, as he faces The Undertaker, as well as Batista taking on Finlay tonight.
Batista makes his way to the ring to kick off this week's SmackDown, and he seems to be in a pretty focused, yet angry mood. Batista comes to say that firstly, he wants to congratulate Undertaker on his victory last Sunday, and it was an amazing war, but it didn't effect Batista's confidence one bit. Batista claims he still believes he can defeat Undertaker and that's where he's getting it. He wants his rematch tonight, but he cannot because Finlay stands in his way. Batista quotes an old saying which says, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Batista says that while he was defeated last night, the Animal doesn't go away, and it only makes him more focused. He says that he doesn't wanna wait until Backlash, he wants his rematch tonight after he defeats Finlay.
Teddy Long makes his way out to the ring to a big pop. He tells Batista that tonight's card has been finalized but Batista has been one of his top dogs for a while now, so he will give Batista an offer tonight. He says that since he's the contender, he's got less to lose, so tonight, if Batista does indeed defeat Finlay tonight, then he can choose any stipulation he wants for the World Heavyweight Championship Match at Backlash. Batista doesn't seem exactly happy, just more determined as we head to commercial break.

Mr. Kennedy def. Jamie Noble in a singles match
Mr. Kennedy who seemed a bit banged up after a fantastic win and showing at WrestleMania came into this match expecting a squash didn't exactly get that. Jamie Noble held his own and took over for about two minutes. Noble attempted a high risk move, but Kennedy kicked the ropes and Noble fell down in no man's land. Kennedy took advantage nailing a Green Bay Plunge for the victory.

Backstage, Todd Grisham is on interview with The Miz, asking him how big an opportunity it is tonight to knock off the World Heavyweight Champion. The Miz says it's obviously the biggest match of his life, and many see him as just a reality star, but tonight he can prove he's more than that, and that he is truly the best thing WWE has ever seen.
Our graphics promote the Miz/Taker and Batista/Finlay matches for later tonight, as we head to commercial.

WWE Tag Team Champions Brian Kendrick and Paul London def. Dave Taylor and William Regal in a non title tag team match
A pretty solid tag team bout between these two teams. Kendrick and London won at WrestleMania and look to a be on a roll. London and Regal kick off things tonight, and London kicks Regal in the face with a spinning kick, which gets things going for the tag champs. They use frequent tags to work over Regal, before Regal manages to low blow London and hit a knee trembler that allows Regal to make a tag. Taylor and Regal isolate London for the moment. A dropsault allows Kendrick to get into the ring. Kendrick and Regal go at it, Kendrick kicking Regal in the gut and then a dropkick to the face. Kendrick takes advantage with the Sliced Bread #2. Kendrick clotheslines Taylor over the ropes, as London comes in with a Shooting Star Press for the victory.
London and Kendrick celebrate another victory. This team is doing amazing. Their celebration is cut short, as Deuce and Domino come and attack them. They threw London into the steel steps, and then DDT him as he lies across them before rolling off. As for Kendrick, they give him the Crack Em' in Da Mouth finishing move. Deuce and Domino hold the WWE Tag Team Championships high over Kendrick and London as we fade backstage.
Backstage, we see The Miz who's walking around backstage prior to the biggest match of his career.

A video promotes WrestleMania, and it's the encore one, which only has two more days before it expires.
World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker def. The Miz in a non-title match.
Poor Miz. He was dominated throughout this whole match. Miz hit The Undertaker as this match begun. Undertaker looked at him and just unloaded strikes until he got tired, which wasn't soon. Undertaker put him down with a snake eyes, a big boot, and repeated clotheslines in the corner. But on the final third one, Miz got his boot up, and then hits a missile dropkick. Miz kicks Undertaker in the gut and attempts the Reality Check, before Undertaker dodges and nails Miz with a Chokeslam. Undertaker closes him out with the Tombstone Piledriver.
Undertaker is handed his World Heavyweight Championship before he proceeds to leave. Mr. Kennedy's music plays for about ten seconds. Undertaker drops his title and puts his fist up. Mr. Kennedy doesn't come out. Undertaker takes his World Heavyweight Championship and walks up the ramp, pausing just in case Kennedy reconsiders.

We see a promo which hypes the triple threat #1 contender's match for the WWE Championship on the next Monday Night RAW.
We return to SmackDown, and see a promo which shows what happened on SmackDown, when Mr. Kennedy's music hit and he didn't come out. The commentators think Kennedy is trying to get into Undertaker's head.
Ranjin Singh leads the Great Khali to the ring as they are showered in boos. Singh takes a microphone and says that these fans can boo all they want but the fact of the matter is, they are looking at the most dominant superstar since...he pauses and comes to the conclusion that no one has been as dominant as him. Singh says that the evidence is all on the table. No man has been able to manhandle Rey Mysterio, Kane, Undertaker, and anyone else the way The Great Khali has. Singh says that Khali is obviously the best superstar on the roster, a future World Heavyweight Champion, and on top of that, not one man on this whole roster can stop him!
Kane makes his way to the ring, before he begins to speak. Singh cuts him off and says that Kane should show his superior, and the man who defeated him five days ago some more respect. Kane says that first, if the Great Khali thinks he's the most dominant man on the roster, than he hasn't seen the Kane that he can pull out when it's needed. Second of all, Singh better learn not to interrupt a monster on a mission because that's how he gets destroyed. Singh says it's almost like how Kane got destroyed at WrestleMania. Kane walks towards Singh but Singh tells Khali to get him. Khali chops Kane in the skull, and Kane backs up towards the ropes. Kane comes at Khali with some massive uppercuts and haymakers to the jaw, before he clotheslines Khali over the ropes. Kane shifts his arms up and thrusts them down viciously, as he sadistically smiles at Singh and Khali on the ramp.
We see a graphic promoting the Batista/Finlay main event, but coming up next, United States Champion Chris Benoit and Matt Hardy team up to take on Booker T and Montel Vontavious Porter in a tag team match.

United States Champion Chris Benoit and Matt Hardy def. MVP and King Booker w/Queen Sharmell in a tag team match
Chris Benoit and King Booker, who feuded over the United States Championship in 2006 kicked off this thing and put on a two minute clinic. Benoit and his team make frequent tags to isolate King Booker, but MVP punches Hardy in the back, which allows Booker to nail a huge kick to the jaw. They isolate Hardy for a bit, and he gets back in with a sudden side effect. He tags in Benoit and takes Booker over the ropes. Benoit attempts to lock in the Crippler Crossface, but MVP gets a jackhammer pin, in which Benoit reverses, they both reverse them before Benoit gets the final one, for the three count.
Benoit celebrates his victory. He grabs his United States Championship and hugs it. Meanwhile, Hardy misses Booker and crashes into the steel steps. MVP sneaks up behind Benoit and boots him in the back of the head. MVP grabs the title, and gets Booker to hold Benoit, before nailing him across the face with the United States Championship repeatedly. MVP hits him with a Playmaker, and then a Player's Boot, before he holds the United States Champion high over a broken and battered Benoit, as Booker T heads up the ramp, admiring his work to Matt Hardy.
Backstage, Todd Grisham asks Finlay how big a win is for him tonight. Finlay says that any win is big, but tonight will show how big a superstar he is when he faces the overhyped Batista. Finlay says Batista is only looked at as one of the best because of his big he is. But tonight, Finlay will prove, that he is the best, and WWE's only making a mistake by not making him World Heavyweight Champion right now. Finlay walks off, and coming up next, he fights against Batista.

This was a decent main event, nothing epic, but still pretty good. Finlay was hitting Batista with some punches, but Batista starts to nail him with some of own. Batista whips Finlay, but Finlay reverses, and Batista bounces off the ropes with clothesline. Batista hits a running powerslam, and then a suplex. Batista thrusts Finlay with shoulders and drops him a spinebuster. Batista tries for the Batista Bomb, but Finlay breaks free and hits a steam roller and then a low kick to the face. Finlay hits Batista with two clotheslines, before he tries for a DDT. Batista shoves him back, and Finlay runs right into a Spear. Batista finishes Finlay off with a Batista Bomb, for the three.
Batista gets up, celebrating his victory. Batista takes a microphone and says that after losing at WrestleMania, he's only more focused, more determined, and more confident. He wants to Undertaker, but now it doesn't seem like enough. He wants to knock Undertaker out cold, and that is why at Backlash, he will face Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship, in a Last Man Standing Match! Batista flexes on the turnbuckle before Undertaker's theme hits. Undertaker has his World Heavyweight Title around his waist as he comes what looks like through the ground or so. He and Batista staredown, as SmackDown's fade ends. |
