Back in March of 2009, I got a set of series one 100% Lucha figures. These figures are based on the 100% Lucha television show / promotion from Argentina.
Last year, a second series of figures was released. Took me a while, but I finally got them, along with the figurines that originally came out prior to the series one figures.
First, here's a quick look back at the series one figures.
There are eight figures, with two variants.
Vicente Viloni
La Masa
Musambe Tutu
Gorutta Jones
Note the hockey stick.
Rot Wailer
Tte. Murphy
McFloyd
Note the kilt.
and
Dorival Santos
Missing are Vicente Voloni in red pants and Dorival Santos in green pants. Haven't gotten those two, yet.
Now, lets take a look at the set of 100% Lucha figurines.
There are ten figurines.
Vicente Viloni
La Masa
Musambe Tutu
Gorutta Jones
Note the hockey stick.
Rot Wailer
He looks like Kurtwood Smith.
Tte. Murphy
McFloyd
Note the tats. This dude is inked.
Cara de Mascara
Torticolis
and
Hip Hop Man
Now, here are last year's 100% Lucha figuras de accion - serie dos.
There were eight figures scheduled for series two, but only seven were released, along with one variant.
Five figures are straight re-releases.
Vicente Viloni
La Masa
Musambe Tutu
Gorutta Jones
Note that there is no hockey stick in the re-release. Cheapskates!
Dorival Santos
Cara de Mascara
El Primo de Vicente Viloni
Wonder if my cousin, J.L., reads these forums and is planning to take over my posts.
Eh, we look nothing alike. Unless, he grows a beard...
and
Vicente Viloni in red and silver pants
Not made:
Tito Moran
No idea why they chose not to make him.
Here is a look at the backer card.
The small pics at the bottom change to reflect what figure is actually on that particular card.
Finally, here are the figures loose and grouped (on my TiVo Series Two).
Unfortunately, this will be the last series of 100% Lucha action figures, as Argentine network Telefe has cancelled the show. The wrestlers from 100% Lucha have banded together to form Factor Lucha - a straight wrestling company that tours Argentina, but, as of yet, they have no TV. Too bad. 100% Lucha managed to produce two decent sets of action figures
+ some excellent figurines, not to mention providing a few years of wrestling excitement to the fans of Argentina.
Squeaky the cat says,
"Since I'm the smart one, one day all of these wrestling figures will be mine".
Special thanks to my friend, Jennifer Daye, of Campana, Argentina, for hooking me up with the series two figure and the figurines.
