Well, that will certainly pull in some viewers. And by some, I mean everyone.

I knew they were going to have to do this, after Hendo declined to sign with the UFC.

So that leaves us with a PPV with no headliner. Any guesses? Just bump one of the other main card fights? Are there even any other fights announced for the PPV?

I knew they were going to have to do this, after Hendo declined to sign with the UFC. Where is this coming from? I haven't read anything about him declining a UFC offer. I guess Dos Santos vs. Velasquez is the best route. The average person, the uneducated MMA public, will already feel like it's a big fight just because they're fighting for the heavyweight title. You could have put Anderson Silva or GSP on there, it would probably do smaller ratings, because it didn't say "heavyweight championship." The uneducated MMA public is still in that boxing mentality that heavyweights are where it's at, it's all about them. I'm sure we can bring them around over time, but Dana's a smart man. He's got a handle on what the public thinks.

Can't wait. Dana said they will air one fight over that hour, and it'll be this one. Hope for UFC's sake they have great prelims if somebody gets knocked out in 43 seconds

My summarized feelings are simple: the UFC is definitely going for broke on this one, and while some would consider it crazy, I think it's right in line with some of the other "so crazy it just might work" things that they've pulled throughout the years that have helped them become the benchmark for the sport.
I have high hopes for this fight, and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm not a business expert by any means, but as an MMA fan I'll be watching for sure. And to non-MMA fans, the phrase "Heavyweight Championship" should definatly help in getting them to tune in as well.
Someone's getting ktfo in this one.

It'll be really interesting to see what fight headlines the first FOX show... I think they might bump the Velasquez Vs Dos Santos fight up a week (instead of it being at UFC 139). I thank you... Great news for you guys in the States - I just hope ESPN-UK can get their sh*t sorted out and show it... I knew they were going to have to do this, after Hendo declined to sign with the UFC. ...last I heard, talks were still ongoing with UFC and Strikeforce... (?)

I'm sure they may work something else out, but Henderson has stated (on his Twitter) that he wasn't too satisfied with the opening offer with the UFC.

By the way, for those wondering, Dana also told us that Brock Lesnar is "100-percent healthy" and returning soon.

It'll probably Reem/Lesnar, or Lesnar/Mir III. Can't imagine Carwin coming back until early next year after talking to him.

I don't know how to feel about this. It is an AWESOME FIGHT but are Cain or JDS known to the casual fans?

Does it matter? It's for the HEAVYWEIGHT title (which is looked at by most as the most prestigious title in all of combat sports) and it's UFC's debut on the #1 network in America. I think they'll be fine.
