and heres some examples of why.....
Jan 4th 99 MSG pop.still the loudest I have heard.short clip but I wanted to focus on that pop.wow.
the promo against Rock,Vince and Shane on the Raw prior to WM15-man was Austin hot here.another great reaction for sure but the focus here is on THAT promo. its one of his best.
return at Backlash 2000.man listen to that crowd......Backlash 2000 is STILL one of the best booked main events I have EVER seen.awesome.
hes pretty stiff looking there too post surgery.

I miss him too. But I'm glad he got out before he was seriously hurt. My hope is that we'll get one more match at some point, but I'd rather have that happen with him still able to go and if he'd stayed around longer, my guess is that wouldn't be the case.
Punk Vs Austin WM 28 make it happen

If he hasn't returned to the ring by the time WM30 rolls around, I'll be shocked. He said in interviews earlier in the year that working on Tough Enough gave him the itch to make a comeback and that he believes he has the potential for another one or two more years of in ring action. And I am all for it.

thought i'd add in that i loved the original wm 16 rock/austin feud, with the throwing of the championship over the bridge, and then the throwing of stone cold over...just great moments.

3:00 One of the biggest pops I've ever heard. Never fails to give me goosebumps. Crazy stuff, no matter what anyone says, there has never been and never will be a guy that can get that kinda of reaction other than Austin, no Punk, no Cena, no Hogan no one, Austin will always be the best ever, atleast in my mind anyway.

for as much of a roll WCW was on in 1997, i will say i think, overall, WWF had better programming and booking,it's just they weren't as hot back then... i mean, that streetfight with Austin vs Hart...they had the "match" ,which led to Austin attacking Hart in the ambulance, which led to Davey Boy and Owen attacking Austin at the end of the show, which in turn led to HBK coming out (again) and saving Austin, which gave the WWF months of storylines with Austin and HBK teaming up against the Hart Foundation, while also feuding with each other.... i wish the WWF had that kind of long-term,storyline planning today....

The Austin/Hart Foundation feud from Survivor Series 1996 all the way trough Canadian Stampede was just really well done. Bret/Austin at WrestleMania 13 is still my favorite match of all time. Its always funny to me when I remember Ken Shamrock was the special guest referee because that is completely overshadowed by how great the match is. Unfortunately WWFs undercard really stunk while WCWs was very good however their main event scene was lacking good matches at this time.

even with a crappy main-event scene,it didn't matter...WCW had 2 things going for them at that time that made them completely unstoppable...
the nWo....and 'Crow' Sting....people tuned into Nitro every week to see what was going to happen with them...

yep! for those not watching,or around,at that time, Hogan vs Sting at Starrcade 97 was THE biggest hyped match in wrestling since Hogan vs Andre 14 years earlier....and they effed it up...BIG-TIME! Sting being blown up less than 5 minutes into it,Hogan phoning in his performance, virtually no exciting "action" ,and a finish that boggles the mind to this day....
just...just terrible....
