I'm probably going to take the knee pads from Defining Moments Rock and put them on Bret since I keep the dress pants on Rock and you can't see the pads anyway. I'm probably going to do the same thing with my EG Rock for the same reason. I do however alternate displaying my DM Rock's $500 shirt attire. Its too bad Mattel's best knee pads are so scarce. I've needed them for so many simple fix ups.

Well, if Bill had listened to my suggestion instead of immediately shooting it down (he must have been busy patting himself on the back about what a great idea the Gobbledy Gooker was) we'd have an accessories pack with various colors/styles of knee and elbow pads + boots. Oh well.
On a less sarcastic note, got my shipping notice Thursday night. I'm guessing the Hitman will arrive on Tuesday for me.

If you think that is financially a good idea for Mattel, you have no idea how things work.

That's the only Bret Hart figure I've ever seen that actually looks like him in the face.

That's kinda scary. What's scary about it? John cena sporting caprre pants LOL Can't wait for Bret to get here. Headscan looks great, the only things I would chance would be to add kneepads and give him the smaller elbow pads

You miss the point. They simply dismiss ideas before they even explore them.
I know the typical internet forum response is to say... yes or no and that's that! Look more deeply into the topic. That's a pretty big generality.
A knee/elbow/boot pack would sell. I'm not saying to put them in Walmarts or Toys R Us, but it could be done online. Don't give me the childish answer of 'you don't know how things work.' It's supply and demand like anything else. How many people on here swap out parts? A LOT. I'm sure people probably said the same thing of retail exclusives for RSC. There's a guy on here who sells shirts/clothes for action figures. There's a guy who replicates headscans for figures. There are dozens of people who customize figures and sell them on eBay. Therefore if Joe Blow can make a profit on customized items then Mattel would be able to. Just because they refuse to listen to outside the box ideas doesn't make the idea invalid.
That's my issue with Mattel. They have the same... we know everything mentality. It's why they screw up a lot. People on this forum have better ideas than Mattel does and they get casually shot down or belittled. (I applaud all of you who fought for Ryder, Hawkins, Barretta and the Divas.) They also have a 'you're bullying us' mentality if you merely suggest that they should listen to decent ideas. Bill got all hot and bothered when they called the overall effort of the WM 28 line 'lazy.' Like it was some personal attack on his work ethic. Give me a break. It wasn't a personal attack, but when you ignore constructive criticism your bottom line will get its butt kicked by someone who does listen to consumers.
Quite frankly... even though we collect toys... people aren't stupid on this forum. It bugs me when people simply shoot down ideas because they're not their own. That is all.

Quite frankly... even though we collect toys... people aren't stupid on this forum. It bugs me when people simply shoot down ideas because they're not their own. That is all. I respect your argument, but you have to consider the amount of money customizers put into stuff before reselling, and the amount of money Mattel will have to put into something to produce and sell it. If I customize a figure, you have to factor in cost of paint, sculpt, and figure parts, then the time it took me to make it and my skill level, which is easy to make a profit from a very small amount of product. But even if Mattel makes these things as RSC exclusives or something, it's still mass produced. The amount they have to pay for supplies, the amount they have to pay each individual employee that takes part in making a kneepad/elbow pad set, I think would be difficult to have a good turnaround, especially because it's something they haven't experimented with. With the way the economy is, and with some of the lines struggling, Mattel has to be very careful where they put their money. If everything they were putting out was flying off the shelves, and they were making great profit on each of the lines they have out, I can see them experimenting with something like this, but as of now, it can end up being a costly experiment. As for the comment about the Wrestlemania line, it's a line of REPAINTS, people should expect nothing more than repaints. Calling it lazy is just ridiculous. Now, I wouldn't be opposed to having sets like this, BUT, at this time I don't think it's a good idea. You have to consider, Wfigs/collectors are a very very small part of Mattel's profits.

It's all good, plastictaxicab. We're all part of the collector family.
I only vent so Mattel loosens up a little.
I'm with you on the WM 28 line. I didn't think it was lazy either, but I did disagree with Bill's reaction to the label.
Enjoy your Hitman when he arrives.

You miss the point. They simply dismiss ideas before they even explore them. That's an incredibly arrogant and ignorant thing for you to say. You presume to know how they do business because they didn't find your suggestion very persuasive? Mattel has been in the business for quite some time and actually has a lot of actual working knowledge on this subject. Knowledge you are rather spamntly presuming doesn't exist. As a point of simple fact, they have experience in bringing accessory packs to retail. They can also observe the experience Jakks had with accessory packs with inside knowledge and expertise. Accessory packs have always been a hard sell at retail, even for items with broad interest like weapons packs. An accessory pack devoted to add-on clothing for a license primarily directed at boys has no clear customer base to justify production costs. No it wouldn't. You think that's a childish answer? Actually, its your suggestion which betrays simple-minded thinking. You want something, so you assume it must be something that can be done. That's immature thinking. That's thinking which betrays self-importance. Pointing out your lack of any substantive or useful expertise is not childish. Trying to assert that you be held blameless for your ignorance by preemptively accusing any naysayer of childishness actually IS an act of willful naivete.

No, you're right. Corporate Complacency and ignoring consumer requests are great ideas. Thanks for hanging onto my every word and spending your entire afternoon writing a response though.
