I collect all sorts of WWE cards. These included. My favorite is a WWE Platinum John Cena card. Autographed and contains a piece of his orange shirt. It's numbered 268/275.

I put massive amounts of money into buying sports cards about 7 years ago (I literally have hundreds of thousands)...I was addicted to opening packs, and this thread has got me jonesing for them again. Does anybody know if the boxes can be bought at retail, or would I have to go through eBay?

^ So true. I used to be addicted to opening packs of pokemon/yu-gi-oh/wwe cards but I would say since 2006/7 I was over it. A year or so I just got the urge again and since then I've bought 3 boxes on ebay [4th coming soon..]. It is addicting. And Bigmac that sucks you didn't get an auto when you had so many outs! I am interested in JoMo/Cody/Ziggler relics so pm me or something.

I would never buy those hot packs on Ebay that say they have a AUTO or a Relic in the pack. There is a Relic in them every time these people are worse than scalpers they cherry pick the boxes for the Autos and then sell the Relics packs as Auto or Relic Packs that why the guy who got 26 packs all had relics.

A lot of the hot packs are found through pack searching which usually just yields relics. To find them people just slightly bend the packs. Relic cards are thicker so they add stiffness to the packs. Since most autograph cards usually are the same point stock as base cards they are easier to find. Most hot packs also come from retail, meaning they found the pack out of a gravity feed (for 2011 people are finding at least one and usually 2 relics in the gravity feeds) and then sell it on eBay for a nice profit. Watch out for "hot-packs" unless they are stated to be a guaranteed to be an auto.

My brother and I use to just stand there in the aisle for a while, feeling up packs. I'd obviously never do it again, but it did work...we'd always come home with a jersey card or two.

Yeah I was trying that on Monday but wasn't really noticing a difference so decided to just wait til I get my box before I spent more money on cards that I probably would strike out on.. As for buying hot packs on ebay the people are legit in knowing it is a real hot pack. I've bought two at least and was not scammed. You just have to go with a seller who has a lot of references which most of these hot pack sellers do.

You just have to go with a seller who has a lot of references which most of these hot pack sellers do. I was referring more to the people who buy hot packs hoping to get autos over memorabilia cards as 95% of the hot packs sold on eBay have memorabilia cards usually worth the cost of the pack at retail. Unless the auction states its for an auto hot pack be aware. It has become a scam lately to get retail hot packs of hot products and sell them on eBay for 4 to 5 times what the pack cost. And be careful if you pack search, for trading card people it is up there with what figure collectors consider scarpers and re-packers. Some stores will throw you out if caught and some collectors will start fights (for real fist fights) if they find you feeling up the packs. Card collecting has gotten weird the last few years and the reaction of people they think are cheating the system or are trying to rip people off is getting outrageous.

^ Damn I didn't know it was so bad. I was sorta feeling some packs but I was alone so I wasn't punched out.. But I couldn't tell if I was right or now so whatever.

My buddy, didnt guarantee any autos from his finds..all he told me was I have 26 hot packs for cost..did I want them
Considering that there are 3 relic versions in the set on top of single and dual autos, plus gold and silver # relics..I didnt care, 26 packs and 22 different is a pretty good haul for under 60.00 dlvd

I haven't bought a box of the 2011 stuff yet, mainly because it seems like a huge let down compared to 2010 Platinum. I opened several boxes of that...it was great. Pulled CM Punk, John Cena, and The Miz relic/autos. Great stuff.
I'm sure I'll open a 2011 one soon enough, though.

Thats not a bad deal , I'm just saying he knew you were not getting any autos. But since thats about the same as retail per pack that still a good deal.

This set is okay. I prefer the Topps 2010 set myself. If a hobby box guarantees 1 auto and 1 relic per box...I'm generally game. I've done this for TNA cards too. I don't trust retail packs.

Today I got a gold Layla card I won on ebay. Going to try and get my favorite divas/superstars in gold.
