Here's my finished Survivor Series 01 Big Red Machine. Very satisfied for my first big painting project.

That looks awesome, especially considering that it's your first paint job @cupofcoffeeinthebigtime . Much better than my first paint job, that's for sure.

I really admire your work so I appreciate the compliment very much. The torso took the paint very well but the legs were a pain. I dunno if its because of the softer plastic or what but anyway. I didn't think Mattel would ever do this attire so I decided it'd be my first big paint. I'm a big supporter of the R3 head and it really makes it more visually menacing IMO From about 6-8' away it looks factory made to me lol

Also, not sure if you did this or not, but I also find that it helps to put 1-2 layers of primer down (usually a light gray or white). Paint adheres better to paint than plastic.

Well I think I've got an extra set of undertaker legs I may go that route on them and then switch over

How are you going about putting on the actual rKo logo on the shirt after removing the lettering? I want to do this as well. I've never made a custom shirt before so it's going to be trial by fire lol. I might try to paint it. I might try to make a decal. I'll be sure to let you guys know how it turns out The decal looks good. I always paint on my shirts. The secret is just like anything else, don't glob it on, do thin layers until you get the coverage you want, dont paint the shirt on the figure because depending on how watered down the paint is/how heavy you put it on, it will go through the shirt and onto the figure. Finally, I wouldn't paint on a shirt that you plan to take on and off as the constant stretching causes the paint to peel and crack. It's what I did with the WM31 Wyatt I made and some others.

Do R3 heads pop onto Mattel figures or is there modding required?

Has anyone (who can make decals) tried to make either of these shirts using a Hogan sleeveless shirt...

Thanks brother. Working on another in his Anti-Venom paint too, an elite version. On holiday from work so I've got time to finish these customs I've been working on for ages.

So I'm going to strip off the paint off my elite hawk today with some goof off for my Hogan. I've used q-tips before but it hasn't worked off well. Do you guys have any procedures or any advice to remove the paint and not leave any residue??

My latest Kerry Von Erich fix ups! Trying to get him in every color he wore in the 80s. The one in Carolina blue has Tito Santana boots, partly because sometimes Kerry would wear boots with lightning bolts on the side (black, not red, though). Big thanks to Apocalypse for the torso switches! You're the man, brother! All of my other Kerry figures and Kevin fix-up in the middle. Took the Eddie HOF rose and painted it yellow for the Yellow Rose of Texas he got after beating Flair for the NWA title! My Kamala fix-up with Barbie gold bracelets(fit perfectly)! And, his trusty spear. He went all out for entrance attire in the 80s. Kamala is my favorite Kerry rival!! Also, my Akbar fix-up!
