Ties are really dumb. Shootouts are pretty exciting to watch because it's really quite nailbiting. I'd rather anything other than a tie though. Continuous OT, maybe an extra OT period of like... 3 on 3  |

Well...shootouts generally make me very nervous, especially because generally that's where Flower and Johnson fall apart after a generally decent game. However I don't hate them, and I think they are a better alternative than just a tie. Just because they can't get it done in OT, someone still has to win and someone still has to lose, and determining that in the SO is the best way. I would rather it come down to a one on one than a potential five or six overtimes. I would rather see the game end in a one on one SO goal than a potentially very cheap overtime goal in the third overtime or something like that.  Shut up, TCM. |

Lucky bounces happen all the time in regulation..one in OT wouldn't be any different. Besides, the game most of the time wouldn't end on a lucky bounce anyways. All I know is that shootouts do not determine the best team, nor even who played the best that night. As for the Lightning, I am getting ready to order my Nail Yakupov jersey next summer. |

I saw Nail Yakupov play last night in a pre-tournament exhibition games against Czech Republic for World Juniors. Fun game to watch, they've got some speed and skill.
