Peter Chiarelli even said himself that he will count against the cap, but will have to suspend him indefinitely so that they don't have to pay him.

Well...I suppose that means that wherever Staal gets traded to, Johnson will be included in that package, which furthers my thought that Staal and Company will wind up in either Columbus or Calgary for either Rick Nash or Iginla and a prospect. Vokoun is a great alternative for when Flower sh*ts the bed, and he'll be able to help Flower mentor Thiessen, the guy who's believed to be the Pens probable replacement for Flower in a couple of years from now. Haha.
