yeah, feaster makes milbury look like a genius. minnesota made two awesome signings, but i don't think they'll be contenders quite yet. that will happen when they get lose heatley and add depth.
minnesota doesn't have much depth. i could see them trading backstrom at some point, maybe at the deadline.

Heatley just had an offseason surgery and is said to be feeling better than he has in years, Backstrom is fine, alot of those games lost were due to lack of offense and yeah, with our lineup this year, we should be ok in that department. I think they will def compete and i'm trying not to sound like a Homer fan, but we will make noise.

Capgeek is reporting that Jagr's deal includes a $25,000 bonus if he wins Art Ross, $25,000 more if team wins Stanley Cup.

I look at this like a trade.
TO PHILLY: Bruno Gervais TO TAMPA: Matt Carle
Ha!
Anyway, Carle is a turnover machine at times but then again, that applied to pretty much every defensive player we had last season. I like our core a lot more this year than last year, though.

What if the Luongo trade picked up Gudbranson somehow and the Canucks signed Weber? Weber Edler Bieksa Hamhuis Garrison Gudbranson ......jk

Mixed feelings about today.
I'm upset that Detroit didn't get Suter for obvious reasons. I am happy for Minnesota and their fans because they finally got alot better (not the biggest fan but Ive had a soft spot for them ever since they knocked Colorado out of the Playoffs in 2003). I'm also happy Pittsburgh or Chicago didn't get them. And I feel bad for Nashville. I guess Suter didn't circle back to Poile for an offer after he heard Minnesota's like he promised. He just called to tell him he signed with the Wild. Ah well.
Detroit currently has 15 fowards (16 if they re-sign Abdelkader), 5 defensmen (6 if they re-sign Quincey) and then Howard/Gustavsson.... I smell a trade coming. Hopefully we can get a defender that will actually help us out.

Seriously, Ruslan Fedotenko back with Philly? I hope he'll be used as trade bait.

What if the Luongo trade picked up Gudbranson somehow and the Canucks signed Weber? Weber Edler Bieksa Hamhuis Garrison Gudbranson ......jk nuge and hall would be doomed 6 times a year The pairings are possible, just highly unlikely...depends on what Luongo brings back and how much the cap goes up next year!

Shea Weber agrees to 14-year $100-million dollar deal with Phila -- pays him $7.14-million per season. Preds have a week to match the offer.
Per Dustin Leed on Twitter.

The amount of money these defensemen are getting is starting to make me worry how much the Blues are going to have to pay Pietrangelo when his contract is up.

It's upwards of 100 mill, official number is not out yet, bad move by Philly, Nashville's probably been waiting for an offer sheet such as this to pull the trigger.
