Vince McMahon....
As creative a writer as Russo was, his ideas were still filtered by McMahon, and others. What we saw on screen was only a version of Russo's ideas.
In WCW, he was basically given full freedom to do whatever he wanted, and you saw what we ended up with.

koreygunz is correct and nothing really needs to be added.
Topic over, Russo sucks.

any examples of stuff russo wanted to do in wwf that vince turned down? Pushing Jeff jarrett in 99 as the new main heel.essentially replacing HHH in the role he had.this would have included him beating Austin cleanly at Summerslam 99. Vince did consider(briefly) but HHH had savage heat after turning on X-pac at WM15 and destroying DX.he was clearly the way to go. there was another big one too-but I cant think of it.

Well, let's see. Here's a big one. Russo came up with a Billy & Chuck situation for Mankind and The Rock. Yes, Rock 'N Sock getting married.
Oh, and the last RAW he was in charge of writing before he left for WCW, he wrote on a napkin. Yeah.

Yeah. i read that sometime after the demise of WCW that he was hired as part of the creative team but was fired shortly after (possibly after only one day but can't remember exact timescale) because one of his brainwaves was to turn The Rock gay. i'm not against anyones sexuality but an idea like that is just plain moronic in my book.

Not only did he have Vince McMahon editing, he had Steve Austin and The Rock, the two biggest stars at the time at his disposal. It also helped that he had Jim Ross announcing the show too.

Russo is cancer in the wrestling business. I think it's hilarious he claims credit for Austin and Rock, BS! They worked their ass off to get where they wanted to be. Russo's ideas are having Mae Young give birth to a hand and the katie vick storyline.
