I like to think that I am somewhat of a wrestling expert, because I can remember things that normal fans probably wouldn't. And I think all of us on this forum are like that. So maybe someone can help me out with this stuff.
Georgia Championship Wrestling, I believe changed its name to World Championship Wrestling and was apart of the NWA. But what was Mid Atlantic Wrestling?? Clearly it was apart of the NWA, but I am sure Mid Atlantic Wrestling just started to be called NWA and thus became WCW.
So does anyone know how those 2 promotions became one?? Or where they the same??

Thanks man!! That was actually really informative. I never knew that Georgia and Mid Atlantic were 2 different organizations. I always figured the were the same just called different names.

To basically sum it up for people that dont want to read it. GCW had the 6:05 time slot on TBS until the Briscos sold it off to WWF. (Black Saturday)...Fans were pissed and ratings declined with WWF on TBS. Vince McMahon in turn sold off the time slot for $1 Million dollars to Jim Crockett and JCP and they took over the slot. Thus eventually becoming WCW.
