My Mr. McMahon figure came and sadly it was pretty banged up. The mailing box was fine but it was packed with a tiny piece of packing paper so the figure was bouncing around inside I imagine. Well the whole top of the card is completely bent and creased and the bottom left corner is crushed and starting to tear. After spending $18 each (with tax) on 4 elites for the promotion I was only able to get one. I didn't want to open it so this bothered me. Especially after spending so much money to get it. So I emailed Mattel and here was my response...
We’re so glad you contacted us!
We were sorry to hear that the figure was in poor condition when received. Sadly, damage to the blister card packaging is not be considered a defect to the product and thus replacements are not provided. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.
Thanks, Jodee R. Mattel Consumer Relations Team
Wow. What awesome customer service. They could have told me to send it back and they would replace it. But no, thanks for your $72 in purchases plus $5 shipping and simply deal with it sir. What a joke. I will never waste money like that again with Mattel.

In all fairness, it did say that about the blister card on the promotion page when the promo first went up. I can understand your frustration though.

I know it sucks, but you can't really expect something like this to be mint.
It's weird that your is messed up though. Cause all 3 of mine are in perfect condition. I would offer to send you one and trade for yours (I dont care about MOC), but it would worry me that the 1 I send you would get banged up on the way there.
Hopefully someone on here can help you out.

yeah, well.. I actually ordered a figure from their sale recently.. added in comments "please package well, I am a MOC collector". My figure arrived the same way, in a box with some paper.. corners are all banged up, top is creased.. They gave me the exact same form letter response. I am still considering filing a chargeback with my credit card.. It's such bull crap

It's a little known secret that you can now sell items on the Interweb at www.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED. Vince is fetching more than $50, sell it and stop your whining.

It stinks that the packaging is messed up, but it's not like you spent $72 for the Vince, you got 4 Elite figures too. I never understood how people looked at it this way. You paid $5 shipping for a free figure.

The point is with the money being spent they could have packaged it better. How hard would it have been to add more paper so it wouldn't move around. Ship as you would want to receive.

And yes I do want the figure. If I was looking to sell or make a profit I would have got more than one.

It's such bull crap You should have read the site when you first decided to get the mailaway then, and decided you didn't want to take the chance on the packaging with the rules they laid out. For a figure that costs nothing other than a few receipts and $5 for shipping, they're not going to (and shouldn't be expected to) listen to requests for extra special packaging.

My packaging was flawless, but my Vince figure had some pretty rough paint chipping on one of his shoes.

There's a reason Matte only charged $5 bucks to ship. Plus it was a disclaimer that boxes can come damaged. Sorry though.

I know where both of you are coming from, but on this end I would say Mattel could have extended some courtesy service for this situation

That sucks, but be glad you even got a response. That is good customer service, just not the answer you were looking for unfortunately. If it happened to me I would be mad too so I completely get it.

Mine was in perfect condition. If its anyone's fault it's whoever delivered it, not Mattel. Also, this should still be considered a free figure. Even though you had to buy 4 figures to get it, you probably would have bought them anyway. I don't think it's fair to criticize Mattel's customer service in this case.

Sucks man. The 2 I got were pretty perfect. I agree with the claim that the figure cost us about $70 each. I bought crap I never would have just to get the Vince.

Mate... on the plus side, at least you guys in the States can order/get a free (well, $4.99) Vince figure - no matter how banged-up. Anyone outside the US has to pay about $60 plus shipping on eBay for one... It would be annoying though after buying all the figures and sending off the form etc. to get the figure with the packaging banged-up (...a lot of mail-away figures/offers aren't kind to us MOC collectors!). Maybe you could sell it on eBay (as not-Mint packaging - a lot of people won't be bothered) and pay a little extra for a MOC one?
