Wow.. just Wow. Amazing. No but seriously? More to it? He'll update it in a bit, it's quite common for people here to start up dairies like this. Can't wait, Duan.

I assume this will be a lot like NWL. If so, I can't wait. Get this thing off the ground and you have a reader.

Just when you think that everything in professional wrestling has been done before, something big happens. The wrestling community as a whole has been unsatisfied, unheard and upset with the product of World Wrestling Entertainment over the past few years and with no serious competition, there is no reason that Vince McMahon ISN'T playing things safe. Vince has done all he has needed to; he has built so many superstars and household names, has run this professional, successful company for decades and is now even proud to say that he has retired his on-screen character. But, off screen, there is always work to do and Vince isn't getting younger. The grueling schedule has taken a tole on everyone in the company, from Vince down to the camera guys. The workers have been getting injured more often than usual and the worldwide tours with over 300 shows a year have just been brutal over the past few years and it seems that things have to come to an end.
The creative staff sat down with Mr. McMahon for a quarterly meeting back in September. Like every other business in the world, World Wrestling Entertainment was entering the fourth quarter, which is usually the busiest. After going through the usual motions of these meetings and talking about what areas that need to hit and improve on, they turned and focused on the ratings, emphasizing about how the football season is starting and how the Raw ratings will be taking a hit due to Monday Night Football. After asking anyone if they had ideas to stop the bleeding and maintain some kind of ratings, Vince saw no one had answer. This seem to just shove Vince over the edge and something lit a fire in him.
After standing up and asking the creative team if they even cared about this company anymore, he started talking about new ideas. He mentioned that he hates losing and the only thing he hates more than losing is losing to something that they cannot even compete with. He also went on about how he despises the fact that people don't think his company has competition when they have to compete with an unstoppable force against their flagship show. This has to stop and he won't rest until it does.
Vince then went on about an idea he has been thinking of. It's definitely a little extreme and without a doubt different from the norm, but it may be something to revive professional wrestling as a whole. When asked what this idea was, Vince told his creative team that he was ending World Wrestling Entertainment as we know it and revamping it once more, maybe one final time. Thus, WWE: The League was born. Vince broke down exactly what he wanted and it was outlined like so:- The only way to compete with the enemy is to adapt to the enemies style. So, there will be two leagues consisting of 5 teams and 5 'players' (workers) on each team.
- Obviously, this won't be like professional sports, as they have unpredictable outcomes. Everything will still be booked and planned, but just make it seem like everything is real.
- Each team will have a team captain that 'controls all the day-to-day operations with the team including trades, suspensions, free agency, injuries, etc.' and each captain will have to be 'renominated' after the season is over.
- There will be 2 seasons per year; January - April & August - November. May, June, July, & December will be 'rest' months. We will scrapping all tour dates those months to ensure that our competitors are well rested for the new season.
- The two leagues will consist of the Raw League and Smackdown League. Depending on who the team captain, where they are billed from will be where the team 'plays' from.
- Yes, there will still be Raw and Smackdown every Monday and Friday (SD still taped on Tuesdays), but the brand split will be more in effect than ever. The Raw teams will compete on Raw and Smackdown on their show.
- Pay-Per-Views will still be in effect, but will be cut down to only one a month. At PPVs, Raw and Smackdown teams are eligible to play each other.
- There can be only one winner to a season and team with the most points from each league will play each other to determine the WWE League Champions; the championships will take place at Wrestlemania and Survivor Series.
- The championships will remain in tact. In fact, they will play a big part in how to gain points. As for the normal point breakdown, this is how it will work; for each 'clean' win a team collects, it will add two points to their total. For every draw/DQ/countout/etc. win, the team will add one point. A loss will have no effect to the point total. A championship match win will give the team 3 points, no matter how the win is obtained. A draw in a championship match will still be one point.
- During the off-season, competitors can be signed to other teams, retire, and new competitors will enter the free agent pool. These guys will consist of people from FCW that are ready to start working for the big leagues.
- To start out, every player will be signed to a one season contract with their team. They can renegotiate during the season or choose to wait till free agency. Also, to start, a designated 'amount of money will be given to each superstar' but the real payrate will stay the same. These will be just kayfabe payrates.
- When a player is signed, they will have to agreed to a contract with the team. Each team will have a certain payroll to stay under, just like in any professional sport. Payroll can increase if your team has a successful year.
- Gimmick matches will still be used, but have no effect on points and will only be used to add effect. The only matches to be different will be the Royal Rumble. [WILL BE EXPLAINED LATER]
DUANER NOTE: Yes, this definitely sound super unrealistic and I am willing to bet anything that it will never happen, but it is just something I'd been toying around for awhile. Hey, I know this sounds exactly like NWL, but thats the point. I had so much fun writing that diary and it probably was my best work. I am hoping to find a grind with something like this and it is definitely possible. I also figured this will be less shows for me to write as well. But, in order for this to work, I will be needing your assistance. Since there will be 10 teams at all times, I need 10 people to man captaincy of a team. Honestly, this is the part that is most different from NWL. Instead of having to be super involved with each worker like in NWL, I will play the part of all the actual competitors, you just play the owners of the teams, meaning that you control the day-to-day operators (roster moves, trades, line-ups) and the off-season will also be hectic, but hopefully fun! So please, EVEN IF YOU ARE REMOTELY INTERESTED IN OWNING A TEAM, sign up right here. Of course, you don't know the teams yet, but once I have 10 people, I will release more information. Also, the owners will be assigned a team randomly. What happens if you don't like your team? Well, its not the end of the world. First of all, you can make roster moves and all that jazz, but if you wait for the end of the season, things change drastically and team captains/team locations could and probably will change. So, like I said, please sign up. If I get over 10 sign ups, I will randomly select the owners and keep the people who don't get teams as understudies. So, without further ado, I present you WWE: The League!
