Snooki, the Situation, Pauly D and the gang will be back on the small screen Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, when "Jersey Shore" returns for its fifth season, MTV announced Wednesday.
After spending season four infuriating and inconveniencing Italian citizens and politicians alike, the well-tanned (and better-paid) guidos and guidettes will make their triumphant return to Seaside Heights, NJ with the upcoming season, the network said.
"On their home turf and excited to be in their natural habitat, the cast hits the ground running to get their 'G.T.L' regimen back on schedule while also dealing with their evolving group dynamic amidst the tensions and hookup rumors left over from their time in Florence," MTV's statement reads.
The series, which captivated an unsuspecting world with its Dec. 2009 premiere, has shown little sign of letting up since then; the Aug. 4 debut of the fourth season was MTV's most-watched season premiere ever with 10.5 million total viewers.
The season overall averaged 9.4 million total viewers, with an 8.8 rating in the 12-34 demographic.

Season 4 was horrible. Hopefully they go all out for the last season. I want fights and hook-ups on every episode dammit!

I never got that criticism of the show. The way governor of New Jersey talks about the show you would believe that every single visitor to a New Jersey tourist spot is actually from New Jersey. It is ridiculous. |

And all the guys are Italian, as well as Deena. Season 4 was pretty weak compared to the past seasons. I personally think Season 2 was the best. It had the most drama. I'm a huge fan of the show, but they really need to shake things up for season 5. I'm all for bringing back Angelina to stir some sh*t up. |

They all are Italian except Snooki (adopted by Italian parents) and JWoww (Spanish/Irish) As others have already said, season 4 could have been alot better. The Ronnie/Sammi fighting did tone down quite a lot so I did like that part about it. Also kind of like the idea of Mike as the rebel against everyone else. Either way I'm still looking forward to season 5, and when in Jersey, the episodes do seem to be better. Looking forward to see how the house deals with Mike and if he'll change or not. Does anyone know if there are any trailers out or anything yet? |
