What was the reason/circumstances regarding hulks 1995 heel run. He was wearing black and White but still had the American made music. Savage accompanied him wearing black and White and this was all before his 1996 batb heel turn.
Against sting on nitro he still did the whole hulk up thing as well :/

he wasnt a heel. he was feuding with flair for the belt just before this, and brutus beefcake/the butcher/the man with no name had just turned on him, attacking him as a masked man on multiple occasions. that led to beefcake joining kevin sullivan and earthquake/one of the poopty gimmicks wcw gave him becoming the 3 faces of fear... which then became the dungeon of doom... for a near year of poopty matches, storylines and feuds with hogan. eventually on a clash, hogan tore off the black, to reveal his yellow and red, before a 6 man tag with savage and sting vs the dungeon.
and of course, when they dumped beefcake from the dungeon, it was explained that he was sent into the dungeon to be a spy for hogan. fantastic booking.
my timeline may have been a bit off, but thats about the jist of it i think.

Hammer, you are kind of off on that. Didn't Hogan go black and red and shave off the stache cause of something to do with The Giant??
I remember Hogan vs. Sting on Nitro in 95 and Hogan was heel like, then at WW3 he said he was back on to being a good guy again. Maybe they were testing the waters for a Hogan heel turn??

i thought the stache shaving was for something else... that was infact sullivan and the giant though. that was a bit after he pushed giant off the roof, and jimmy hart and luger turned on him. and he was definitely clean shaven for the inital ww3 for the belt. maybe i was wrong though, its possible... i thought he went to the all black because of beefcake though. im almost intrigued enough to go back and watch 1995 wcw to refresh my memory for sure... but not really.
yea i checked a quick video on youtube, hogan was in black while the giant was around. so thats way after my timeline. oh well.

I dunno but... Hogan doesn't look at all like Hogan without the moustache.

Hogan grew the shoe polish beard for the nWo. Giant and Kevin Sullivan attacked Hogan in the fall of 1995 and shaved off his stache. They said they took his identity and were now going destroy Hulkamania or something like that. Hogan could have grown it back, but instead decided to wear black and red for a few months to show that he had lost his identity and had to turn to the dark side to get back at the Dungeon of Doom.
After all that, he returned to the yellow and the announcers acted like it was a HUGE transformation. I can't remember if it was PWI or The Wrestler but one of the Apter mags even went as far as the run a cover story stating that it was Sullivan doing this that showed Hogan how powerful the dark side of wrestling once...thus turning him heel and forming the nWo...I kid you not!

yeah, i remember parts of that...Hogan was, like, "embracing his darkness" or something,to be able to defeat the Dungeon of Doom, and everyone turning against him....
thing i remember most, actually, was Sting confronting hogan about this on Nitro, and Hogan arguing back and forth with him, leading to the making of the first ever Hogan vs Sting match on the following week's Nitro!
which was,of course, promptly ruined by Sullivan and the Dungeon doing a run-in right after it started...
