i think you're totally correct. normally i buy every new legends figure and especially when it's a guy who i like, but that head sculpt was atrocious and unacceptable. it's not a sellable product as far as i'm concerned and i will be passing. this is coming from a guy who has all but 4 of the legends figs (the rock, iron sheik, macho and scsa... have multiple other versions of all). i don't believe mattel will see this thread or care if they did so my only reason for saying this is because it happens to be the fact of the matter. you bought Snuka yet are gonna pass on this figure because of its head scan? thats interesting.

I'm no DDP fan and I thought it looked alright. Whatever, I'm sure all six of his fans will buy the figure either way.

A lot of folks on here clamored for a NOT-smiling head scan long before Mattel announced a DDP figure. It seemed like all his homeboys on here preferred it. Now that we have the smiling scan, some are okay with it but others still want what they want. I can understand that.
For me, it's the yellow hair and orange beard/eye brows that turns me off from the physical look. Even if it's a guy I don't much care for, I can still appreciate a really well done figure, and this looks like a cartoon.
As for DDP himself, his literally trademarked open-palm hand gesture and the "self high five" are two of his three biggest calling cards, including his finisher. Mattel decided not to mold new hands for this one figure and just gave us the usual clinched fist on one hand and slightly-open-to-hold-objects on the other hand. It saved them money.
Aside from all of that, I'm still getting him because I want to support the whole line.

I'm satisfied with the proto they showed. Looks perfect to me.

I have no problem with the way DDP looks. And as I said when the poll was first put up only DDP & Savio were passes for me. But after seeing the proto I might get DDP although there's no chance in hell of me getting Savio when he is released. (Even if the proto looks dead on)

I'm going to wait to see pictures from people who actually have the finished version in hand. I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed by what I have seen so far and DDP was a guarantee buy for me before that point. Hopefully the proto just isn't doing it any justice so far and the finished product looks great in other pictures.
But yeah, probably far too late to do any physical changes at this point.

Im not buying it simply cause I have to pay $20 plus shipping for 1 figure online. Stupid decision to put the ledgends as a online exclusive. And dont say well if you look at the shipping and gas it equals out. No it doesn't as I work at a damn wal-mart that less then 2 minutes away from me. They didn't sell in stores so from a business standpoint its not stupid to put them online. If they sell as well as the other matty figures its not stupid at all.

Once again this has been explained, Legends has become a nich market therfore less will be manufactured. When this happens just like every business practice the less made the less the bulk discount is. They will not produce the same numbers as retail sales go.

But you are right, they should be cheaper considering they cut out the middle man
