WWE star Triple H and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels both appeared on CBS Miami's morning show on Friday to help promote ticket sales for WrestleMania 28. The two spoke on a number of topics, and HBK had the following to say when asked if he will ever come out of retirement:
"No. All right, next question!
In this line of work, everyone says, 'Never say never,' so I'm not saying never, but never. My home will always be with WWE and I always tell everyone all they need to do is flash the bat signal and I'll be there."

I respect the hell out of him for not going back on his word. Still pisses me off to this day how Ric Flair got a huge, emotional send off and then headed to TNA a while later.

Thats great that HBK won't go back on his word... once retired, always retired.
Although selfishly I do wish he was still going, he was great in the ring and still in good shape... unlike Flair... who still wrestles...

Unlike Flair who is broke from his multiple divorces, HBK doesn't need the money as an incentive to wrestle again.

I love how everyone complains about Flair, but Foley coming back to the WWE is getting everyone excited. He's actually worse than Flair, since he swore he would never "prostitute" himself and return, yet has done so time and time again.

Flair was forced to retire and had to go to TNA because his long standing money issues. And he got blessing from Michaels before doing so.

I do see where you're coming from, but I think that the difference is because Flair had one of, if not the, most emotional and best send-offs of all time, while Cactus Jack, well... just retired after a match and that was it.

Thats fine if he needs it for the money, but don't lie in front of everyone and get a huge send-off in a retirement match. If he had to leave and go to TNA to do what he had to do, then thats fine. I think everyones issue with him is that he went back on his word. I respect the hell out of HBK too for sticking with his word. I still enjoyed him in the ring to the fullest, but there will always be the internet and dvds for me to see him. I'd still hope for him to make frequent appearances, and it sounds like he's willing to do that too, so thats great.

Vince basically forced him into the lose and retire storyline. He wanted to stay with WWE and continue to wrestle. They wouldnt really allow it. And it isnt the first time the guy has retired, and certainly not the first time someone has come out of retirement. Many wrestlers do. I dont understand how you can hate him for it.

Flair is arguably one of the top two biggest names (the other being Hogan) in wrestling history. Guys like that deserve big send offs (if they want them).

But through storyline, he lied. And can you blame Vince for not wanting him to wrestle anymore? The guy can barely move around in the ring anymore let alone put on an entertaining match. I didn't necessarily say I hate him, but could he not have some sort of manager/corporate role in TNA without having to wrestle? We can both admit the main reason hes still involved is because of the money, and he would surely earn money by going with that route too.

I would love to see them bring HBK back for one more match at WrestleMania 29 in 2013. They could do DX vs. The Brothers Of Destructions, providing they don't do Triple H/Taker this coming up year. The whole build for the storyline would be great considering both Shawn and Triple H want revenge for jobbing out to Taker at Mania on 2 seperate occasions for the both of them.
But that's a huge long shot.

And he loves being in that ring. Watch Rocky Balboa. The speech he gives to the commissions board basically sums up Flair. As far as his in rings abilities now, are they great? No. But he can still put on an entertaining match. His match against Lethal is proof of that. And he is certainly not the worst on TNA roster. Flair will die in a ring. Im almost certain of it. I knew he wouldn't stay retired and I cant blame him for doing what he did. If Shawn is fine with him doing it, than I dont see any reason not to be.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the brought up (and true) fact that Vince forced him into the situation. You can say "well, why wouldn't Vince want him to retire?" but that's moot because HE didn't want to. Sure the sendoff was just lovely and a tear jerker and all that but if he doesn't want to stop, he doesn't want to stop.
On topic, I hate when people are continually asked when they are coming back. It's like people think the answer will be different each time it is asked and it sucks for Shawn or Jericho or anyone like that that they'll be asked about a return until they're dead, basically. Some people just can't give it up sometimes.

It is really sad to see someone his age still going but out of shape, I still respect him but to just end up going to a different company because a company wants you to retire because it would be better for your health. As the quote says, yeah ever since HBK retired I always wanted him to return in the ring some how even though I respect his words and understand why, its just that RAW will never be the same thing. Just like Undertaker, yeah they might make appearances but it will never be as legendary as them just in the ring, either at the start of a match, end or even with just a title around their waste.
