I can't stand Christmas, the decorations, the music, the mandatory 'Best Christmas Album In The World... Ever' album they release every year, seeing that fool with the beard in every shop, the mad rush in malls etc. I do like catching up with some family members though.

Don't hate Christmas, but I do hate it when people call it "xmas" Christmas to me is Christ Mass a celebration of the birth of my lord Jesus Christ. Christ Mass is awesome. Xmas is the warped version of Christmas. Xmas is Santa Claus. Xmas is spending big money to decorate your home with false idols such as Santa, Snowmen, and so on. Xmas is lame songs about snowfalling, some fat guy in a red suit doing your mom, and other lame topics. Xmas is having people demand gifts from you. Xmas is everything commercial created to exploit Christmas. To me Christmas is exactly what the name says, you go to Mass on Christ's birthday. Nothing else. Thats exactly why I said...... Who else hates Xmas? Because I hate Xmas, I do not hate Christ, nor do I hate attending mass. As Clark Griswold says, it means something different to everyone. Personally, I believe in the spirit of Christmas and of Santa Claus more than I believe in Jesus. My house will be decorated at the start of December, but there will be no mention of Jesus at my house because that is not what the holiday means to my family. That being said, I'm not one of those people who wishes someone "Happy Holidays". I celebrate Christmas, so I wish people a Merry Christmas. If that person is athiest, Jewish or celebrates Festivus..then they can say whatever they want to me. Above all else, Christmas is awesome because of stuff like this:

I enjoy Christmas, it allows me to spend time with family and friends I wouldn't usually see, and it's just nice sitting in my house, watching it snow outside and having some hot chocolate. Bliss.

I totally agree! Christmas to me means spending time with my family, having a great meal, and watching my children play and enjoy themselves. We make gifts part of the holiday, but not the main part.

Yeah I heard Christmas music in WalMart yesterday. Seems a bit early. I work at Walmart and I remember hearing Christmas music in mid-October, well before Halloween even.

That must be annoying. I used to work in Hudson Belk a long time ago. I hated being there during the holidays. I actually like the music, but if it's in your ear all the time, it's extremely annoying.

I managed a store last year where we had to play Christmas music all the time from Nov 12 until Christmas Eve. We had to play the cd's we sold...and we only sold 3 Christmas cd's. They each were about 35 minutes long...that was very annoying!

Wow......... the only thing I can remotely understand is how losing family on those holiday's can effect you. But the rest of it? Really?
I love christmas. And for the person who said adults getting excited for it amuses them, be amused. I get excited for it. It's not about the gifts (though I do love seeing people I love open something I bought for them and get excited)
I just love the atmosphere, the family time, the time to relax, the good food. I love the "cheesy" christmas movies and music, I love christmas and I feel bad for those of you who have became so cynical towards it.

I love Christmas and everything about it.
The only problem is that my family seems to fight around this time of the year. It will start 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and ends right around my birthday (Jan 16th).
A few years ago my family got together at my aunts house for Thanksgiving. Everything seemed fine at first then we sat down to eat and there was a fight seeing who would sit where.
Exchanging gifts is even worse. No matter what i get anyone they always return it. If i buy them a gift card they call me cheap.

I really did not care about Christmas but now it's going to be different because I have a baby girl that's about to be 1. Once you have a kid, it puts Christmas into a different perspective.

I love it. I love spending time with my friends and family and love watching my niece and nephew wake up and run to the tree on Christmas morning. Seeing their joy beings back memories of my own.

Personally I love Christmas. I'm not religious so that part isn't important to me. I love the songs, the movies, the presents. I love spending time with the family and eating Christmas dinner. I love the decorations. I just love it all

The one thing I absolutely CAN'T STAND about the holidays is the sick, disgusting smell of that pine cone/cinnamon/oil smell. Who the f*ck thought that this would be a "holiday aroma"?!

We should totally have a WF Festivus thread. How exactly will we do the feats of strength? I have no idea, but Jack is the head of the household around here so he'll be the one we have to take down.

Christmas is my favourite holiday. I love the music and the atmosphere. Shopping for gifts is one of my favourite things to do around Christmas. I feel genuinely good about giving. Sure, working in retail has it's moments around the holidays, but it's too be expected. It's a shame that some of you go as far as to say you hate a lot of the things that I find so great about it. It must be crappy to say you hate anything as minuscule as happy-go-lucky seasonal music, decorations, cheerful people, excited children, colour schemes and most importantly seasonal coffee flavours.
