My friend just told me that they're getting me a boxset of Rocky Horror Picture Show and Shock Treatment for Christmas and a few other things.
So basically i had no idea what Shock Treatment was until i searched it last night, apparently its the sequel to Rocky Horror but it tanked and there wasnt a 3rd film made
Anyway, for those who have actually seen it, is it any good? does it follow on from Rocky Horror, because it doesnt look it judging from the trailer

It has the main characters from Rocky Horror (albeit different, not-as-good actors), but other than that, it's different.
I don't know what others think, but I say it's awful and is acceptable to ignore when dealing with RHPS.

I've only seen half of it, but my understanding is that the studio made it with no involvement from the original creators.

It isn't a direct sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's a stand alone film that focuses on Brad and Janet after their marriage. It's disappointing and nowhere near as good as The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

It's cool that some of the original actors came back for slightly different roles, but other than that.... They tried to do the weird thing again, and it just didn't click like RockY Horror did.

IMO, Shock Treatment is to Rocky Horror what Grease 2 was to Grease.

I think it's pretty enjoyable, but have never met anyone else who agrees. It isn't going to become your new favorite movie, just a little bit of odd fun.
Why did your friend ruin the surprise?

I like it too. I don't watch it nearly as much as RHPS, but I still enjoyed it. I even got to see it in a theatre once, which was cool. Plus it has Barry Humphries (Dame Edna) and Rik Mayall (The Young ones, Drop Dead Fred). Not to mention Jessica Harper, who was also in Phantom of the Paradise and My Favorite Year, both movies that everyone should check out. Richard O'Brien tried to recreate his success with RHPS, but it didn't work out. I think the biggest problem is that it was less fun in a lot o ways. But it still has some good songs and interesting stuff. I would definitely at least give it a shot. Even if you don't like it, you've at last seen it.
