Hey guys! So I was thinking the other day how much I really enjoyed Owen & Bulldog as a tag team during 96-97. They were just so good together and I think they really brought out the best in each other. They always seemed to tease troubles between the two because of Owen's ego and him always wanting to be the leader but I think that's what made them so good. Both were good workers and I thought they held the tag titles very well together. A lot of times I feel they are glanced over as a tag team and it's really unfair to them. I think Davey Boy is always more known for his tag team with Dynamite Kid while Owen is more known for his numerous tag teams with Anvil, Yokozuna, Koko, Bret, etc. However, watching old footage of them together usually brings a smile to my face because they look like they're having so much fun together. I think Vince probably eventually wanted to turn Bulldog face against Owen as it was teased numerous times but instead we got The Hart Foundation which was even better. What do you guys think about Bulldog and Owen?

I thought it was a great tag team!! I remember during the Tag Title tourny in 96, I wanted Bulldog and Owen to win it, but they lost in the 2nd round to the Godwinns.
I think the initial plan was to turn Davey face, it seemed like Owen took Austin's side and Davey was siding with Bret during the fall of 96 and early 97. Just awesome stuff though at that time, they dominated the tag team scene.

They were great together. The ups and downs between them made them entertaining. Just when it seemed they'd be done with eachother, they'd make up, and made you just hate them even more as heels. Lol for some reason I still remember the bit in Todd Pettengill's music number for the opening of the 97 Slammy's, about Owen & Davey:
"Owen and the Bulldog, can't get along, Davey says the earth's round, Owen says he's wrong, and the other day, I caught them fighting over Donkey Kong."

HAHA! I loved those Pettengill raps at the Slammy awards.
I wish Bulldog and Owen got more attention. I was really hoping they would have a chapter on the "Allied Powers: The World's Greatest Tag Teams" DVD but nothing.

I loved this team and was so happy when they won the titles from the Smoking Gunns. I wish they were given more chances with other great teams.

an absolutely GREAT team. when Vince brought LOD back in 97 he had planned on Bulldog and Owen having a rollicking feud with them but he never went through with it that would have been great.but that aside-yeah they were an awesome squad and the Hart Foundation was a great heel clique.

My opinion they should have started teaming in 94. Bulldog and Owen was better then Anvil and Owen. a very underrated tag team. Loved the Owen/Bulldog vs Furnas/Lafon matches.

Those matches were fantastic! You could see the chemistry back when Furnas & LaFon had their debut at Survivor Series 1996. They rocked the house with Owen and Bulldog then too!

If you liked them as well you need to watch the Bulldogs vs Furnas and Lafon in Japan in the 80's. Stiff matches. Great workers though very good matches and then watching Owen in the place of Dynamite I like it as much if not more.

I think they were underrated, because while they were a good team, they both had great singles careers as well. Even when they were a team, they still had singles careers as well.
